What's Happening @ Trump University (8/1/05 - 8/14/05)

This posting marks the inauguration of a new feature on The Trump Blog. "What's Happening @ Trump University" will be a semimonthly review of all Trump University activities including new products, new launches, new partnerships, details on upgrades to existing products, and previews of courses. So much is going on at TrumpU. that we thought it would be valuable to highlight news about recent developments and future plans in one central spot.

Trump University Live

Last week we launched Trump University Live, a new line of products featuring Web seminars and live courses. Trump University Live represents an exciting new direction for our young and growing company. Essentially it's a way to bring Trump University curriculum to life. We've changed our website to reflect this (see the new section called Attend) and are lining up an impressive array of events.

Trump University Live kicked off with a Web seminar called, "Keys to Successful Home Buying." It was a fantastically successful event led by Prof. John Vogel, a Trump University real estate faculty member and a longtime professor at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business.

A cornerstone of Trump University Live is our partnership with Microsoft, which allows for the use of their incredible technology platform, Live Meeting. For those who may not know, a Web seminar is an interactive presentation that features a combination of audio, graphics, slides, and PDF workbook. The format allows participants to ask questions and receive feedback.

This relatively new technology is a perfect fit for Trump University's brand of practical, real-world education. It is a means to deliver learning in a convenient, accessible way, and will help us realize our mission to teach success. Gary Eldred

Gary Eldred, Ph.D., is the newest member of the Trump University real estate faculty. Prof. Eldred is our kind of expert, possessing a formidable combination of book smarts and street smarts. On the one hand, he is a seasoned academic, having held faculty positions in the graduate business programs of Stanford, University of Illinois, and University of Virginia. He's also a major real estate investor, who began acquiring properties at age 21. His properties include residential rentals as well as ownership interests in office buildings, shopping centers, and apartment communities. As a consultant to Fortune 500 companies, Prof. Eldred is frequently called upon by the major media to discuss real estate matters. He has also written numerous books and articles on real estate. Author, teacher, consultant, and investor, Prof. Eldred knows the world of real estate with a depth and thoroughness few can match.
