I really want to have sympathy for Britney Spears. And I hate to give the impression that I'm picking on her. But not long ago Britney went on television with Matt Lauer on NBC's "Dateline," pleading for her privacy.

She admitted that she was an emotional wreck but the interview ended up being an incredible train wreck. First, Britney looked terrible. Her skirt was too short. Her makeup was messy. When she opened her mouth, it only got worse. She blamed the paparazzi for her bad image. She didn't admit that she made a mistake by driving with her baby on her lap.

And even though she described her marriage to her husband as awesome, somehow Kevin never managed to show up for the interview. Now I have a problem criticizing Kevin because he goes around and tells people that Donald Trump is his hero. The fact is, it is a pretty strange relationship.

During that interview, Britney complained about all the media attention and tearfully begged to be left alone. I almost bought it.

Until I saw her posing nude - and very pregnant - on the cover of the most recent issue of Harper's Bazaar. She has absolutely nothing to promote - no new record, no movie, no book. So, to a lot of people, it sounds like the only possible thing she could be doing is trying to keep her name in the news.

Inside the magazine, the layout includes a photo of Britney in a backless evening gown carrying her son...and another shot of her lying down on a fur coat wearing nothing but a G-string.

Britney has seen better days. She performed four or five years ago at the Trump Taj Mahal and she was great. Now it seems as if everything's slipping away from her. Britney, don't let that happen. Don't let it slip away. Keep your head on straight.

Mr. Trump, you are the master of self-branding. If that's what Britney's trying to pull, she should listen to you. A personal brand should be internally consistent.

Obviously Kevin is not a stupid guy.

You are his hero for a reason.

As a matter of fact if Kevin gets a good gig going on perhaps he could draw a good crowd to the Taj.

You know, Mr. Trump. When I first saw this I thought "There's something about this I just don't like". I don't think it was the nudity. Actually, I love nudity. Good nudity. With taste. Quality, sensual shots. But there's just something about this one that wasn't right. I've seen and read articles about Britney and thought. "What is wrong with this girl"? Britney, you know which way to go. Do it! Britney you're beautiful. You Are! You! Now shape up!

I'm 16 years old and I am into celebrity gossip and such. Honestly, I do have sympathy for Britney Spears. In a way, it does seem like she wants to stay in the news, but she is a celebrity. Celebrities make money from attention. There is a line that i do believe has been crossed. Britney's privacy has been invaded. The paparazzi are all over Britney Spears. Now, I'm not saying that it is a common thing, but I'm sure that Britney Spears is not the only person in this world who has ever driven with a small child in her lap. Just nobody knows about anyone else doing it because they don't have people constantly following them around. There are parents out there who beat their kids up and nobody knows about it but then there is Britney Spears who drove with her kid in her lap to protect him from the paparazzi. The fact is, the paparazzi needs to just back off and if she wants to pose for a magazine, then let her pose for a magazine.

If Britney wants to be left alone, she should give all the money back from the people that didn't leave her alone when she was dying to be a Superstar and become just like everybody else. Being a Superstar has it's price. She agreed to that price long ago when she was begging for attention. Now she's rich and she doesn't need the public? Give me a break. She's got talent. She's got money. What she lacks is common sense. Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

It's a tough one. If nothing else she might pay attention. That is about all one could ask for.

A few years ago I was working backstage at a Britney Spears concert. As Britney made her way to a stretch limo my good friend beside me said "Poor Britney" which I returned with "Britney is not poor, I just saw the Armored truck just leave and it was full of cash." My friend said she meant that both of Britney's grandmothers had just died and she had attended both of their services that afternoon but flew her jet into Raleigh just in time to make it on stage to perform.... She has had a hard day but she still came to work.

It was a good thing she came to work because their were hundreds of people who earned a small pay check that day, that very hard day for Britney.

Britney,
It's all in the company you keep. You need to rethink your relationships. When did it all start getting bad? Bet you there have been many defining moments in your life. Pay attention, your better than that, you deserve more... the best. You married down. Take it from me, that's the wrong way to go. Go on and do your thing girl.
[-] Posted by Jason Edwards on 07/20/2006 1:53 PM
It seems to me that the reason Britney was on dateline was to promote some sort of "Shock and Awe, poor Britney" image. The whole thing was yet another attempt to keep her in the public eye and as ever it worked.
If she really wants to be remembered then she should give something back to society and not just another glossy image of her exposed middle.

WHEN A WOMAN IS PREGNANT, SHE FEELS WHOLESOME AND BEAUTIFUL, SOMETHING MR. TRUMP WILL NEVER EVER UNDERSTAND. WHEN BRITNEY SPEARS BEGGED FOR HER PRIVACY, SHE MEANT NOT BEING FOLLOWED AROUND AND HAVING PICTURES TAKEN NOT ON HER TERMS. THIS PHOTO SHOOT WAS HER TERMS. I DON'T THINK IT IS RIGHT TO JUDGE SOMEONE ELSE'S MARRIAGE, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE ON N0. 3 MR. TRUMP.
[-] Posted by LuAnn on 07/20/2006 2:32 PM
Britney needs to decide what she wants: celebrity or privacy; she can't have it both ways. She needs to choose and put all her energy into pursuit of that goal. As far as the paparrazzi in hot pursuit, yup, they are. But don't blame them, blame s/he who plunks down $1.99 each week for the celebrity rag. If there were no demand, there would be no supply. I am sure that's one of The Donald's prime principals!
[-] Posted by Loren on 07/20/2006 2:43 PM
What society needs to realize is that they cannot have it both ways. The people who claim the paparazzi should back off are the same people buying the gossip magazines and watching the shows. If no one bought the magazines or watched the shows the paparazzi would be out of a job.

Mr. Trump, I'm disappointed to see that you have the time and inclination to want to bother yourself with Britney Spears. In my opinion you're as bad as the paparazzi and adding fuel to the fire. Leave the girl alone and let her work out her own life, afterall, we all learn from our mistakes.

If Britney wants to pose in a magazine that is her Business to do so,but she also needs some time to he self everybody
does the paparazzi should respect that and
maybe celebrities would give them a little more time and pose for them after all keeping their name in front of people
is what keeps them being a celebrities other wise out of sight out mind. How else do you know people you never met, maybe the paparazzi is one reason we know them
respect goes both ways show some to get some.Smile and pose and let Love grow and tell your story so they don't have to make one up.Thats how I know Britney & Donald .As I see It. Ron Wochnick

Young Britney just took the sanctity of motherhood and cheapened it. Does she really mean what she says about her "motherly love", or is she using the power of the press to manipulate the media for her personal gain? Nude photos bedecked in expensive jewelry make one appear fairly self-interested. Only Britney knows her own heart. Only Britney can remove herself from the public spotlight and become a real mother. She can "just say no", there

3 weeks ago in the NY subway, I saw a couple struggling to carry their child and pram down a flight of stairs. The mother tried to roll it down alone, while her spouse stood nonchalant at the bottom. The pram slipped, the mother lost her grip, and the child (still in the pram) bangs her head against the stairs. Neither checked on the child while they squabbled.

Does this seem familiar to the situation with Britney? Where has Kevin been to defend her against her critics? And shouldn't parenting be teamwork? The poor woman looks like she has more on her plate than she can chew.

I think she is slowly, but surely, finding the right balance between motherhood and her own celebrity. Rich or poor, infamous or celebrated, it's freaking hard to have a ba

Don't let a loser turn you into a loser. You are not a loser. There are millions of young girls looking up to you as a role model. Stars like Britney and sports figures all get paid way too much and if they are wise with the money they can retire much much earlier then 95% of society. When you have that much money you have alot more choices then most of society and if you were smart could hire people to help you hide and lay low! Unfortunately for the Britney's of the world they must come out from their hiding to appear and receive a pay check; poor little miss prissy you have such a tuff life! As one basketball player put it "I chose my career and the pay that went along with it". It's pretty clear that they understand that money is one of the benefits of their job but why didn't the research further to find out that so is the media and the loss of privacy. It would appear that they would like to have the good part of making money but somehow eliminate the tuff part; fricken rich yuppies!!!

Hey if your going to follow the Bible then you have to follow it to a tee, you don't get to pick and chose which parts you like, because they suit you at that moment, and cast down the other teachings until you need them.

Give me a brake, I say that movie stars and sports players should all have a cap on their income of say... $250,000 per year, because most of them have very poor spending habits, and none of them deserve any more money then the rest of us who work hard in our jobs. The scales are completely unbalanced and the message being sent to our children is tragic. How can you pay a rap singer millions of dollars for the crap they produce and pay a teacher a fraction for molding the young minds of the future. I understand why other countries hate us and would prefer that we not spread out bankrupt morals to their citizens!

I think she's cute, and like all celebrities she likes attention only when and how she chooses to get it, but not of the abusive type that she was alluding to in the interview.

Very good point, sir, about keeping ones head screwed on. Kept in perspective, she's probably better at being Britney than she would be at running a large development organization. We like her because we watched her grow up and now she's struggling with raising a family and coping with staying in the spotlight.

I bet her pregnant photos looked hot.

She is a wreck and people should stop looking at her and talking about her, she needs to be left alone. her life has spiralled into a horrible mess and she´s a laughing stock, the airbrushed nude pictures are just the latest in the britney circus. I guess I'm the only one here that's willing to be honest with the formidable Mr. Trump. You have a problem criticizing Kevin because he says you're his hero? Clearly the man was drawn to Britney for her money, which is the same reason you are a hero to him. I had thought that you were the type of person to tell it like it is, but clearly that's not the case. Flattery is surprisingly effective, isn't it?

The sad thing is, that while trying to spare Kevin's feelings because he considers you his hero, you could be the one person whose opinion he might respect enough to listen to. This misogynistic rant of yours speaks nothing of the true state of Britney's life; she has made bad choices, but Kevin is ultimately going to be her undoing with his spending sprees and lack of respect or decency with regards to his family. Your willingness to keep quiet on that aspect of Brit's life is very telling about your integrity, or lack thereof, Donald.

well i dont think its fair for donald trump to say she looked horrible, and talk about her and publicity etc, the donald looks like crap on tv at times as well, he looks pail and his hair is horrible. and donald trump seeks publicity also, talking about martha stewart and her apprentice not having high ratings, etc, when his ratings arent terrific either, and the only reason i can see him commenting on a girl a 3rd his age is because he himself wants to stay in the spotlight. and certainly, he should not be talking about britneys marriage, he is the last person to be talking about good marriages, after all he has had more then liz taylor. i think he is a pig and just stay out of other peoples buisness and worry about himself and his own issues.

As long as she takes care of her health and also her darling children's health AND happiness, that's as good as it gets. If you ask me, she's having a good life. Mr. Trump
Give the girl a break. She knows what she is doing. Publicity keeps one in the spotlight. This brings in the all mighty dollar. Dont critisize someone who needs to support her family. She is in a business that runs on public scutiny the juicier the better. The better the higher the price tag. Dont count her out she will come out the winner. (Yeah Im rooting for her, and secretly hoping her and Justin will get back together.)

My advise to her, take care of yourself and your children. Hold them above all else and if the means letting Kevin go, so be it. Good Luck to you, and your choices.

I too feel sorry for Britney. She was commercialized at a very young age and obviously had no real mentoring from anyone that had her best interests at heart. She was a commodity and the adults around her should be ashamed that they didn't help her grow gracefully into a charming young woman with more respect for herself than to hook up with Kevin, and be constantly snapped in those embarrassing moments - wonder what we miss?... How sad that at the tender age of 23-24 she is acting like a desperate has-been; and her life has not even really begun yet. I truly wish her well and hope someone shows up in her life that will enlighten her - obviously no one has yet.

This entire blog goes to prove how much more important celebrities are to us than our selves. Start focusing on your own success and stop wasting time on people you don't know and who can't help you succeed.

Well I just Finished Watching your 2005 movie Mr's Trump. I never new how hard it was to get to your status. But on topic Britney in my opinion she got prego to fast, at her climax of her career and it led to a nervous breakdown. Plus look at her now u no what I meen so with that said
she needs to make a priority desision of her life and thats 1... to be a star or 2... to be a mother. I dont mention wife because well its hollywood u no it never last. u understand donald.

Let's face it. Britney is no Demi. When I saw Britney Spears' naked photo on tv, I swear I made a facial expression similar to the experience of smelling sour milk. Britney reminds me of Tonya Harding;in short they both need to grow up. Who's plea was more pathetic: Britney Spears or Michael Jackson's?

Where's her mother? Where's her PR people?
I feel sorry for her. Wish I could talk to her one on one. I just hope her sister isnt headed down the same path.

I am not going to lie, I love Britney, no so much this new Britney, but the unmarried one, however i totally agree with you, the only mention of anything other than her children and husband is a mention taht she is writing songs for a new CD, but there is no indication on when it will be out. Anyways I think that the old Britney should come back to us, and prove everyone wrong who thinks she is gone forever.

p.s. Can't wait for Mr. Trump's Miss Universe tomorrow night. I hope Canada makes it a second year in a row.

It is incredibly apparent that there is more than meets the eye where Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are concerned, and it is also apparent that she is dealing with the emotions that accompany pregnancy and the exhaustion that accompanies motherhood. However, if I may be so bold Mr.Trump, keeping her name in the press, whether it be in a good light or a negative one, is keeping her on the tips of the tongues of consumers and business moguls such as yourself. The more controversy, the more attention, and the more she does, the more her face and name is generated, therefore keeping her fresh in the minds of everyone. Isn't it true that publicity is publicity and that no publicity is bad publicity? It makes for a great "comeback" story in the end and could possibly be one of THE most intelligent business moves for her in the long-term. Just some things to ponder.

Britney is just fine, and will be back with a vengence when she is ready to be...and if she 'isn't' singing then she'll do something else, no big deal. What is it with you Donald? Like picking on the ladies? Taking chunks out of people like they are raw meat? Who cares about your opinion anyway? Are you sore at people making comments about yourself and want to deflect a little of the attention? Anybody with a an eyebrow and head of hair like yours ought to keep a lower profile when it comes to handing out insults.

Britney didn't script her interview and that gives her a couple of extra points in my opinion, like saying 'this is me', like it or lump it. Lump it Trumpet.

Mr. Trump, you are FIERCE. I love how you say it like it is. People bring most things on themselves. If she didnt want anyone to see her kid or if she wanted to hide him, get tinted windows like the rest of hollywood and ride in the back. Also, I definitly agree as to what you said about her posing nude for Harper's, if you don't want media attention then don't jump in front of the camera.

Some things cannot be bought.

Unfortunately some of us have to learn that the hard way. Some of us will never get over ourselves long enough to learn it.

Can we take anyone serious who gets married and divorced in the same day.

Bad Karma

Truth or Dare - the truth hurts

More than likely she should seriously consider getting a shrink. Trouble is the good ones are very few and far between.

I wish her luck. She is going to need it.

The Donald is right. Her words and actions don't match. If anyone understands success it is Mr. Trump. When he speaks, I listen. It is no secret that Britney's life appears to be out of control. She may need good mentoring, but ultimately we all lead our own lives and some of us do it in the public eye. Britney made a mistake when she lost Justin and compounded it

As usual, you hit the nail on the head. Right on. Give the girl a call, Mr. Trump. Encourage her to be the next "Sonny & Cher" act with Kevin, perhaps. They can do it. I'm middle-aged and know a few things

I agree with Mr Trump! He knows her from when she worked at his casino, plus he is a businessman. Even tho he was critical of her appearance on interview, he seemed sincere in wanting her to get her act back together. What's so wrong about that?

You know I actually hate commenting on this, because I am so much about the individual and following your personal dreams, but come on.

The bottom line is she must be loosing her mind.

Remember she is still just a kid. A kid with a bunch of money and spare time.

Her decisions have been extremely questionable and her emotions are all over the place.

Let's hope it's just the hormones going all crazy.

Let's hope it's not her getting exploited or just outright nuts.

I wish her well, but the actions to kinda look like the actions that are often associated to trailer olympics.

Mr. Trump, for someone so old, you have a lot of growing up to do. If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.

this blog reminds me of a short that was on the beginning of monsters inc. The one with the birds. Who are we to judge someone until we have lived their experiences and their life. I don't know how I would act if I were in her place- I'm not in her place. It is a waste of time judging others on their experiences when we should be judging ourselves on our own experiences. It is ourselves who create our successes and failures...if anything we should feel sympathy for those who have not learned or discovered what we ourselves have learned and help those who are willing to learn...willing being key. If Mr. Donald Trump (whom I respect very much because of the personal trials he faced during the 1990s) truly wanted to help Brit, He would tell her himself rather than post in a blog...what is the purpose????

Britney = the perfect example of what a lack of education combined with a lack of principles will result in

Let's look at it from a B&B orientation: Britney & Brigitte (Bardot). Back in the 1950s, people attacked Bardot for being a vapid but beautiful young woman who coudn't really act too well. Now she has grown into a mature and moral woman who is actively involved in a number of causes, including animal rights. So the message might be that life is not a moment in a spotlight, but a longer road that even famous people need to learn to walk well. In the glare of youth and publicity, I guess that is a pretty tough thing to do.

More than any other single artist, Britney Spears was the driving force behind the return of teen pop in the late '90s. The blockbuster success of the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys certainly paved the way for her own commercial breakthrough, but Spears didn't just become a star -- she was a bona fide pop phenomenon. Britney gathered her fans because of her amusement to audience. Lollapalooza acknowledge Britney on its celebration. Lollapalooza 2009 early bird tickets have sold out. Lollapalooza 2009 promises to be quite the event, as the lineup includes bands like Jane's Addiction, the Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, the Decemberists, and Tool. It would be worth a payday loan to get to it, that's for sure. The original festival was conceived of as a traveling one, thought up by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell. The tour was immensely popular throughout the 90s, but declined in sales in the later years of the decade. In 2005, it was relaunched as a 3 day festival in Chicago.
