Words of Wisdom from the New Book, Trump 101

Donald J. Trump, Chairman of Trump University, knows that success begins in your own mind. So as the year 2007 begins, I'd like to offer you his thoughts on success, taken from the pages of his new book, Trump 101.

--Ask yourself whether you're doing what you want and what is right for you.--

--Be positive every day. If you're not, no one will think you can succeed.--

--Believe in yourself, exude confidence, and get in your competitors' way. Project yourself into their picture and upset their status quo.--

--Break loose from your comfort zone by moving forward with the power and momentum that positive thinking creates.--

--Zap negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. Whatever energy you expend will build the positive stamina that is vital for success.--

--Ignore the expectations of others. Stand up to your friends, family, teachers, colleagues and those who think that they know what's best for you. Plug into your own energy.--

All of us at Trump University wish you every happiness, and every success in business and entrepreneurship in the coming year.

Michael Sexton is President of Trump University. The quotes he offers in this post are drawn from the new book, Trump 101.

I find Mr. Trump to be a disgrace and a huge contradiction as it relates to his words in his books and his attack on Rosie. The following is a Trump Quote I feel he needs to read again. Think like a winner in 2007? Shame on you Mr. Trump!
Part of being a winner is knowing when enough is enough. Sometimes you have to give up the fight and walk away, and move on to something thats more productive.

Is this publicity for your show Mr. Trump, and therefore is considered productive.

I posted this before and thought I'd repost it again, as I continue my TrumpU seminars: Over the years, I came to respect Mr. Trump for his genius and for his ability to recover from so many personal and professional hurdles. He somehow managed to recover well and keep his focus on his mission and his professional goals, regardless of the harsh public criticisms and the cruel, unfair media scrutiny all working to "turn the tide" on him (sorry for the cliches). I never saw the man sweat anything and if he went alone and cried, on his own, in his room at night, I applaude him for having released his energy privately and keeping the strong demeanor that he always kept. I learned from this great man, that "when the going gets tough, that is when Mr. Trump really gets going". And I value his living example tremendously. His were not examples that you just read about in a book. I saw them and my feet still tread upon what those great examples gave birth to, when I walk through this city. I never thought that I would ever come to feel this deep respect for Mr. Trump, but I am proud to say that I truly do. I believe that it may be because we have all seen him buy, sell, develop and fight for what he wants and we have seen his successes unfold right before our eyes, especially me as New Yorker, I felt lucky to have walked right past many of his construction sites and have had a small taste of his success up close and personal

Hi Donald
I always admire your ability to be a success. What I can't understand is why you have responded to Rosie the way you have. Who cares what she says. Those of us who were raised properly and I thought you were do not act or talk like that.

Michael, can't wait to see the new Apprentice. It should be very interesting to observe how things work in a new environment. I'd like to know Mr. Trump's views on customer service and how it's addressed with the Trump organization, and hope that he addresses it in a future entry

Positive thinking is one in 5 steps to achieving success. Without any one of these building blocks, the foundation is weak. Passion, Innovation, Attitude and Execution is the driver of 21st century thinking.
What I have found important is electing key positive thinkers at the base the corporate triangle that will spread to the majority. Sometimes, people want to hear positivity from people like them, and not necessary from Managers driving fancy cars and sitting in fancy offices.

Note to Mr. Trump: Your success has been an inspiration to the business world. Certainly an inpiration to me... The one component is your passion for what you believe in. A strong trait to have.

Staying positive is key in business. You must stay focused and be able to overcome and get over the many problems. If you are negative, it may be impossible to succeed.

"Ignore the expectations of others. Stand up to your friends, family, teachers, colleagues and those who think that they know what's best for you. Plug into your own energy."

That's a nice advice. Thanks Trump.

Blurry and distorted decision making capabilities are from being off our true path, and they get worse as we get further away. Each must find their gift(s) and be their awesome and wonderful self to the best of their ability and put out as much good energy as they can. The answers are all easy, we always know our true paths unless very, very far from them. It's the choices we make. Life is merely the consequences of our own decisions.
Free will is the choice each has every moment to decide either to be our awesome and wonderful self or our fragile bag of shit self.
With balance, control, and understanding of good and bad energy, paying attention, being aware internally and externally, learning and growing, gathering consciousness, one is better at being their awesome and wonderful self more moments. Put enough moments together and your dreams come true. Absolutely!
My sincerest best thoughts and good energy for health, happiness and harmony.

Sapere aude!

It seems to me like the Donald is being productive while he's fighting the good fight. He's still working, right? Rosie threw the first hit (like she's been doing lately), the Donald fought back. Should he have brought Barbara into it...no I don't think so. But, he's not letting his name go through the mud, isn't that what we want our leaders to do. To fight, work hard, and show us that we don't have to accept everything that is thrown down on us. We can get up and fight. Yes, sometimes it's better to cut your losses, but the Donald has a lot of resources than some of us do, why not let him do what he feels is right. Sometimes I wish I could, and the Donald is the only one who knows when it is enough, but he has to live with his own decisions. Like we all do.
Also, just to add something, the Apprentice is an amazing show that any business person or wannabe business person should watch. I don't think it needs this publicity.
I personally haven't missed an episode, and I'm grateful that the Donald wants us to be rich, great book
[-] Posted by Sherry on 01/02/2007 4:38 PM
I know it is too late to take comments for the January launch of The Apprentice, however I have not missed one episode since the show started. Have learned a ton on what to do and what NOT to do. I would however like to see The Apprentice come up with some new and different challenges, unique to previous seasons. It's beginning to remind me a little bit of Survivor where every challenge is being repeated in some way. Nonetheless, keep up the good work.

Vision is to see, what others can only dream about. You have to except that you can do the impossible. No better example than Mr Trump himself.
[-] Posted by cward on 01/02/2007 5:07 PM
To all the Rosie fans.
Rosie is a disaster you know it - she knows - and Donald Trump knows it. The word attack goes in more than one direction. The world of business is tough and it can be very mean, if you do not stand up for yourself you will get killed. One of the reasons I like Donald Trump is because, if you step out of line he will make you pay, regardless of who you are. If you plan to survive in this market you better get tough and get even or someone else will clean your clock. If you do not have the stomach to handle what Donald said - the lenders, lawyers, realtors, appraisers and contractors will take every dime you have. The game is chess not checkers!
[-] Posted by Asciutto on 01/02/2007 7:15 PM
Thank you Mr. Trump for the words of wisdom, have been in commercial real estate for 20+ years - right now in the worse market in the nation (Michigan) just keep going, being positive, determination and perseverance has always been the key attributes to be followed and stay away from the pessimists.

Donald Trump for a man who I had much respect for & wanted my kids to look up to & role model, your name callin & refusal let the incident with Rosie go away, makes me feel like I am watching a pre-k childres fight....Please growup quickly you are setting a very bad example for the young who look up to you....The "Bigger Man" would not respond to anything said, true or not...Looks like Rosie gets that title

Happy New Year TrumpU!! Fantastic as always. Although I choose not to see Donald as a God, I do believe in the power of belief. What a man thinketh so is he! Mr. Trump thank you for sharing your success and not being afraid that someone out there may just be better at it than you. The power of forgiveness. It seems you practice what you preach. My partner and I just went to the Trump Seminar in Atlanta this past December and joined the success train. Thanks Again!!

Dear Michael

I have carefully read the words of wisdom of the book Trump 101.
The golden words, according to my opinion comprise a practical background or an experienced situation to whom pertained.
I especially like the third one saying: "Believe in yourself, exude confidence, and get in your competitors' way. Project yourself into their picture and upset their status quo."
I think that confidence in you is healthy for the two main reasons: It helps to motivate and pushes the mind to search for new ideas and second: it helps to put in live the ideas created. It is almost impossible to imagine a great success without having a deep trust in yourself. I do remember when I started to apply for the job, I have used almost all my capacities to achieve a success and maintain good practices of professionalism. Believe me it was not easy, but I was satisfied. I never feel afraid of anything. I am afraid when I do draft the objectives and tasks, but when the time comes to decide upon and refresh the ideas, I am very trustful to my capacities. For the end, I would add one word: There is no one who could swim without touching the water.
Cheers
Driton

I think Donald Trump brings a lot more to this world than he takes. I am not interested in business or money. I am out of work and broke. But I am heavily involved in a humanitarian movement that requires firm direction, resilience and positive commitment. And for whatever reasons I find Donald Trump's words and deeds to be very empowering for me. Donald Trump gives to humanitarian causes too. Food for thought.

Positive thinking has long been advice around town that can never be said enough. Getting in your competitors way, exuding yourself into their picture and upsetting the status quo is certainly new to me. After contemplating their relative intent and meaning they will certainly be incorporated into my agenda for 2007.

As an aspiring 17 year old businesswoman, I've realized confidence is the key. No matter where I went, exuding self-confidence in an elegant manner (i.e. without seeming too self-centered) already placed me on a superior step. This subliminal self-confidence, to say so, constitutes the primary enforcement of success. It intimidates the competitors and ultimately increases the efficiency on your side. You get what you attract, in the end. The secret? Law of attraction. Handling it is all the mastery you need. Positive thoughts attract positive results, negativity attracts misfortunes. This is why those who are prosperous talk about prosperity so often. And who doesn't wish for prosperity?

Got Trump 101 for Christmas in my stocking, read it, stole all of your great ideas, and have put them to use for my personal benifit.

I have spent a lot of money on other people's books and material, but I know I will be making a lot of money from yours.

Trump University is a true blessing to anyone with an open mind and a passion to do better in life.

You know for some reason I need to add this comment. Many things happen to us walking through life. So I'm going to share something with you. Many years ago I found myself in a devestating situation. My father had just died a horrible death (cancer). I found myself pregnant that would have entered this world around the time of his death in the following year. Only to end in miscarriage. The circumstances surrounding it were horrible. I was so devestated that I said "I don't ever want to do this again and I meant it." One area of light surrounding it was I was able to touch with someone else at that time whose child was far enough along that could have survived but didn't. There were pictures and a funeral. She tried to help me as well. But what happened haunted me up until this day. Now, how am I going to tie this in with Being a Winner in 2007? Simple. Someone had mentioned to me back then "Well it was for the best." or "It must have been for the best." And I hated those words. Hated them! I thought how in the hell?? Well, today it appeared to me. I realized how. I had been in an abusive marriage even back then in the early 80's. I recently divorced that person and have a direction I need to go in. A spiritual direction and the loss of that precious life back then detached me completely from that abuser for today so I can completely do what I need to do and finish my task. So how's that for Thinking Like a Winner for 2007? You see there's a new man following the same road. The right man. One thing you need to understand. I wasn't looking for an answer. It simply showed up.
