The Small Business Administration Honors Entrepreneurs

To highlight the great contribution that small businesses make to the U.S. economy, the United States Small Business Administration has proclaimed this week Small Business Week. The SBA is hosting awards ceremonies and other events to honor America’s entrepreneurs.

What benefits can Small Business Week offer to you, our entrepreneurial members of Trump University? Here are two useful resources we found on the SBA’s Small Business Week page:

• The Small Business Administration’s List of Top Lenders is short, with only seven lending institutions named. But it is worth a look anyway. We all need to be on the lookout for lenders that are sympathetic to small companies.
• The Small Business Administration’s Small Business Winners List is a more valuable resource, listing small businesses, state by state, that have been cited for excellence by the SBA this year. For reasons that are hard to understand (the SBA is part of the government, after all), links are not provided to the winners’ Web pages - you have to do an Internet search to find their sites. But it’s worth the trouble, because the stories of many of those small companies are remarkable. Look at Providence Pediatric Medical Daycare, a company in New Jersey that provides specialized daycare for children with asthma and other special medical needs.

Although Small Business Week might not offer a goldmine of resources, check out the two resources I mention above. Plus, the Small Business Association’s main site offers a lot of great tools for entrepreneurs, including new online chat sessions with business specialists.
