Loving the Liberal Arts

Blog Image

I’ve always been very outspoken about a college education. If you’ve got the brains and the financial assets to go to college, then there’s no reason not to go. It’ll give you an amazing leg-up on the rest of your life.

The question is, when you go to college, which major should you choose? I’ve always leaned heavily towards business, but there are plenty of other fields that obviously offer great opportunities.

However, recent studies show that liberal arts degrees, surprisingly, can be very useful in today’s world.

Liberal arts majors are in high demand across all fields because in today’s working environment it’s good to know a little bit about a lot of things. It’s important for workers to be able to handle many different tasks and often, if they’re too specialized, they’re not able to do that.

I know some people think liberal arts majors don’t appear very decisive about what they want to do with their lives, but not anymore. It’s important to be able to diversify.

They just have to figure out how to translate their broad skills into the mainstream workplace. But the opportunities should be much greater than for a philosophy major or an art history major trying to find a job. (Even though I happen to like both these subjects very much!)

Learn a little about a lot of things and the world is yours.

Mr. Trump:

Very relevant issue.

All disciplines are equally important, just a matter of context of its use. And demand of such subjects changes as the environment in playing field changes. Environment in the sense, technology, process, competition, development, culture, market demand and many things.

Specialization is important to stand out from the crowd. But to survive and really win, you need a cross-cutting skills along with specialization. For example, today look around you in your office, you work with multi-culture staffs. Same treatment, same approach of dealing does not work. If you are aware those all nuances, you feel comfortable working along with all and hang around with them. You will be loved by all. But saying, this I am not saying, specialization is not important.

Only specialization with other cross-cutting skills wins, not in silo.

The last divine trustfull message after the shine of that great cultures is just ONE which have cleaned from the origins the sins and has in hands the key*s of God kingdom and of prevent to hell, Jesus has also that key*s to save us as we choose it to obey the LOVE of God with HIM as door as path in building the Temple in our self from within.

Mr. Trump

honored to be part of your Team! Thank you!
Becouse Art of building the highest skyscraper in the world
is a Liberating one into a turbulent social economical path we live now
but shortly aplly what learned from the Trump University is just a natural step to aplly it.
Strategy: Liberal Art path(the social memory is easy to renew in distress periode to replace the light yes via development, you know small investment colony arrow development and body the whole chain partners your brand has and hopefully share thissame 101 Quality Commitment Code, so professionals are in place each one but to measure the pulse so global and prioritize well that small cells during the very first 90days of TT Blue Diamond(name it Trump Blue Diamond)
so 90 days be there and take the pulse of all medieval and important Treasures churches live now. Conect the dots between cells as buy in foreclosure regim in a winn/winn negociate and be sure that persuading America Chamber of Commerce*s Alternative and Renewable energy from inside Israel, Palestina Lebanon and go as wide south to Cairo as wide it can closer to Darfur, east to north from Turkey to Bulgaria Romania Russia connected also via China and go forward as separate cells 3 months from inside take the pulse negociate the land and reach strategic positions till Kyrgystan Pakistan to India! The route connection of work mobility will be ensured by railroad summit project we persuade it from multiple points from inside that energy is necessary but instability will kill any chance of development or peace in the area they faight from so many reasons and poverty and resources interdependency is that acting from inside with an outside eye regarding they*re basics necessity are thissame, no one may isolate his borders nor forced by necessity to invade as much globally the final will be Summit investment, persuaded from inside..rail with land each one contribute with part goods or tech G8 or name it how we will attract them without exposed like soo many reporters die in different hot areasas we persuade it bypass from inside and with external connections, they will believe that the decisions came by themself but the gates will be open, and yes, I trust churches and what they delivered good until now is what matter, and if now we act respecting the Light of God asking him to protect our plans, the Sacrifice was done long ago, now as we faight the fair faight is for sure that we will meet the proper answer and our steps will be protected. Impressed me the 3 large trips Pavel does his times without tired so if he succedet we may too at first in silence development and the events will smooth that people will have time to discover the gates of light opened by busy to work and as long waited they all wait the change will know that God is working too to release a bit such tensions and teach by events themself the right pray. Are already soo many reached the sky ...water , engineering army corps concentration and know how, with development they change the war into bonds with retirement plan includet and available to each country, soo as China banking regulatory comission will rule his partners like engineering ocean shipping citibank, such a touch will affect as waterfalls so the unique solution is to invest properly and produce values and China has authority in East and Russia is also interested to be part of the future development in Asia better than war a.s.o. the cold experience we all know how it*s look like, and we may invest in water via engineering army corp technology choosed carefully long term as we consider that climat change will offer rain to the desert country*s and dry to Europe...so via China example opening the gates of peace investing like them Danning river style(Tree little Gorges Dam-Golan). The details need refine Mr. Trump, as see, apply directly the brand negociation: know the customers and serve. Deal?!The start is in your hand Sir commitment is mine too!Daniela

I appreciate liberal arts as much as anyone, having gone to Santa Clara University, but I feel that there is no degree equal to a business degree for going into business. Of coarse there are brilliant individuals who are going to succeed in business no matter what they spend 4 years studying but if you want a foundation of business knowledge then you should study and earn a business degree. Or if you must study L.A. in your undergraduate program then continue on to a graduate program and earn a masters in business.

Personally, I went to a liberal arts college and took many liberal arts classes. But, knowing I would end up in business, studied accounting, the most fundamental business degree. Then I went on to sell books door to door, realizing this was one of the hardest selling techniques I could strive to master. Literally the school of hard knocks.

While accounting is the heart of business, sales is its life blood. With no sales there is no business. Unfortunately most every college fails to have an effective course in sales. In fact, marketing is often misunderstood as sales.

Liberal Arts can make for a well rounded individual, but please don't assume it is the only preparation you need for going into business.

Ah...yes! The subject of education. I am a big believer in post-secondary education. I am surprised by the number of young adults who reach this stage in life not knowing which direction to go. Mr. Trump has heralded the field of Liberal Arts. A good field for the right person.

Personally, when coaching those who find themselves at a cross-roads in course direction, I encourage them to take 3 to 4 different personality analysis profile tests to identify personality traits which might point the future student in a direction that's a natural fit for their personality. (Take a look at my web site www.whats-he-like.com. It lists several profile results of mine, and in those you can see common traits.) In addition, take a skills assessment test. With those foundations in place, finding a direction is usually much easier. After all, there's no point pursuing accounting, if you're seriously dyslexic, and have a passion for animal sciences.

Often when I hear students say they don't know what they want to do in the future, I ask them who they are now? Most of these same individuals don't know the answer to my question. Building on who you are as a person, will rarely steer you wrong.

I should also say, every person should learn a trade, if they use it or not. It can be a valuable way of working your way through college or university. It's also an incredible way to become grounded as a young adult.

...?

What?

I think someone had a hard day at the office. Maybe something happened today, and Mr. Trump was feeling the "blues." I get that way sometimes too.

Who knows ...?

Whew wee I find this absolutely amusing. You will post Daniella's wonderfully well written history lesson, but not mine, Boo-Hoo. It's the Lion of Judah as in YewDah(man), yew know Leo, as in sun progressed into. Did I whack you in the spiritual behind, he-he good, someone needed to. I know this won't get posted either, as me and my dogs are moving in for the awakening.

On a lighter note, my best friend Jamie, I pronounce it YHWH, looks a lot like you. You know, fire colored hair and green eyes to pierce your soul. I bet you'll recognize her as one of the ancient kinsfolk, and she's a bad@$$ like yourself.

How could I possibly be anything special, well who knows. How are you sleeping lately, good I hope, plan on seeing the future in your sleep. My waking hours are dreamtime.

You are the chosen one to impliment this worldwide project, accept it.
Much love to you and yours!
Look up how to god in church latin, it's a kick.

I feel great to hear what you have said here. I have such a degree as well as a Science one. I have had many different and exciting jobs, and all of my employers have found my versatility to be an asset for the very reasons that you spoke of in this blog. But to hear you say it seemed extra special: I like the inspirational thought of the world being mine.

Hi, Mr. Trump!

Liberal Arts is one of the best degrees an entrepreneur can get. Actually it is one of the best degrees ANYBODY can get. Why? Because liberal arts teaches about the essentials of life. It is a leadership degree, it teaches people to think for them selves, rather than to be told what to do.

I am going to a liberal arts school. It teaches with classics, rather than textbooks. Classes consist of discussion of books and ideas rather than learning what we need to know in order to pass a test. Everything is focused on what principles can be gained from the reading material and be applied to each students individual goals with their life.

George Wythe College is where I go to school. George Wythe was the mentor of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington, some of the greatest leaders our world has ever seen. The school teaches the same way that George Wythe taught his pupils and its goal is to create statesmen, leaders who can be considered to be as great as our founding fathers.

If you are looking for a meaningful liberal arts education, I highly highly HIGHLY recommend checking out George Wythe College.

Hi Mr. Trump, I really appreciate what you say here, as my life has always been Arts related and, as a member of your Real Estate Course for a year now, I feel that it's never too late to learn new skills. It is always good to specialize in one particular field, but as we have all seen, many people can lose their jobs even when they have worked in one area their whole life. I have appreciated the versitality of my life as a classical singer, a teacher of music and language, a translator, a secretary, and also having some experience in sales, It means that I've been able to earn a liviing at all times, and that I've learned the disipline of learning new things in fields of interest to me, which seems to have impressed employers. Now I'm learning more about investing and my business skills are growing. I'm still excited to be learning from you and from your expert Team , and to be able to continue to work to fulfill my dreams. The Arts have a lot to say about who we are on the inside. Business skills makes everything possible on the outside. Hopefully, many people look for a balance of these 2 elements in their lives. Thanks, Mr. Trump

Liberal Arts is great to major in. you get a very broad sense of what all subjects have to offer, making you more diverse and prepared for a better idea of what it is that you could be great in, or what you can do to find your true passion. I lean more towards business myself & politics yet in any field it's hard to break into a job market or become an entrepreneur without sufficient training.

Sage advice as always from The Donald. You can't put a price on a quality liberal arts education. Though the last time I checked it was about $125,000 at NYU, not counting books, lab fees, pot bust related bail bonds etc.
