Adult Kids Returning Home

Funny you take up this subject. I moved home again, not long ago. The reason for this is I lived in Copenhagen (Denmark, Europe), in an apartment with two friends. And these two friends are all about partying, while I´m all about my future (not saying I don´t like a good party once in a while:) But I couldnt focus so I began looking for my own apartment, and in Copenhagen. You´ve got to have connections, when it comes to finding apartments in Copenhagen, and my connections only had really expensive apartments for me, which they all are anyway, if you ask me.

In the end my mother asked me to move back home for a while, also while building up my company that takes up all my time. But I love it, so it´s great.

I can see from the advice you, are giving my mother in this blog (Father, R.I.P. - 1995), that I'm a good son:)

is much to say and do but at least if each and every people no matter the profession will listen and have to the heart the words like proverbs 30: 7,8,9 , imagine the safety and craetion level on the world, as work itself and independent financially as physically generations which hopefully will not know the war anymore, the childrens from Spain going in East retourmn back with eyes which hurt to look into!! How can we ALL let our childrens learn this experience?

If about retourn to live by mom better die, if confront the foreclosure here well it take a team for when one is weak the other sustain it , when is about live your dreams as profession or life also the Team is important, to manage the plan properly each one his part and the feed back till the final form is refined enough to be presented. As I said in my previous article to you, rich kids can't keep up with my son's reliability and accountability. Over the summer my son's pay cheques have sported 101 and 102 hours per two week chunks and I emphasis his work did not detail a laptop or a cellphone.

One of most promising staffers ruined his reputation by inacting conversations at the till with his cellphone to dramatically show he was a businessman. Trouble is we had to do his work while he showed off all the time.

These rich kids call in sick, come in late, and expect to go home early. If none of the above happen, they arrive hung over. My son and I cover their shifts constantly. Trouble is I came from money so I know what my son and I are missing. Kids today are in a lot of trouble with or without University. I have seen it first hand hiring kids from all over the world in one of Canada's busiest playgrounds.

Since I have arrived I have yet to go to the pub. I have been here almost six months. By contrast my son and I have sat on the bench late at night barely able to move we were so sore from work and there are all the rich kids hooting and hollering stumbling around drunk mistreating the girls, getting in fights and often kicked out of town altogether.

Most run up ridiculous cellphone bills and can't pay their rent. It is sorry to see the little varments come to us for money advances before their paycheques are due because you know they are robbing from Peter to pay Paul. The next cheque will inevitably contribute to an even worse senario.

I know why they go home but do you ?

Finally what is even more frustrating is this. They are treated with more respect on the assembly line by customers than the people who really are working hard because these rich kids look rested and healthy only because ....

They haven't really worked a day in their lives. They live off us, the ones who work hard filling in their shifts that provide them with discounts on their food and rent.

I wish every parent took that stand. Many of the kids in the court system are there because parents enabled them and tried to rescue them instead of holding them responsible and expecting them to do their share.

The topic you chose is definitely a trend. I believe we will see increases in three areas based on our economy: Adult children returning home, the need for the Mother-in-law's apartment (actually a place for parents to return to their childrens homes or a reasonable and close retirement facility), and multi-family homes. In our area, I am seeing many young coulples moving into group home situations.
