If you want to learn how to talk on your feet, know your subject inside out so that you will never have to hesitate or bluff because questions will not surprise or stump you. You'll know every answer, and each question will give you a great opportunity to show how good you are and how much you know.

Master your subject and know it cold. Work at it, read about it and discuss it with others. Dedicate yourself to working at it every day. Anticipate the questions you will be asked and practice your answers to them.

Follow the example of great athletes who always train and push themselves to their limits. Accomplished athletes have great discipline and businesspeople should too.

you're right Donald, but sometimes is not always too easy. I wonder, what will you do if you were asked by very unpredictable question ?

Thank You for this advise:)

Today I found myself suddenly in front of camera and microfone...it's funny feeling.
I wanted to take a microfone and journalist kept it, it's like driving a car with no weel in your hand.

Mr. Trump,

Confidence is a key to coming across as a credible speaker. If you know your subject and have the ability to deliver your message and answer questions with conviction, you will succeed.

Also, one of the lessons we can learn from The Apprentice is that if you DON'T have the knowledge and expertise to answer a question....keep your mouth shut or say 'that is not my area of expertise' or 'let me look into that and get back to you with an informed answer'.

The last thing you want to do in a job interview or during a speaking event is blow all of your credibility by saying something stupid.

Mitch, too often people think that they need to have an answer to any question when a simple "I don't know but I will find out" would be perfect. Great point and thanks for reading the blog!

DEAR DONALD TRUMP,

DO YOU EVER READ THESE COMMENTS?
IF YOU DO, I HAVE AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT QUESTION,
BECAUSE I DID EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAY HERE:
I FOLLOWED THE EXAMPLE OF THE BEST ATHLETES, AND PUSHED MYSELF TO
TO THE ULTIMATE LIMIT IN MY STUDY AT UNIVERSITY.
I WAS STUDYING MATH THAT WAY, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT MATH IS NOT
IN EXISTENCE IN REAL LIFE.
I KNOW OF COURSE TO STAY OUT OF NEGATIVE EXPECTATION GAMES, LIKE COMMERCIAL INSURANCE AND SO, BECAUSE EXPECTATION IS LINEAR, BUT THE POINT IS: THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ACTIVELY, EVEN AS THE BEST MATHEMATICIAN IN THE WORLD, TO MAKE YOUR LIFE OR OTHERS BETTER, EXCEPT EDUCATE OTHERS.

I HAVE HEARD YOU SAY, THAT MATH IS ONE OF THE GOOD THINGS TO STUDY.
I AM RUNNING 100 METER PER 8 SECONDS IN THAT FIELD.
WHAT DID YOU MEAN?

IF ONE STUDIES LAW OR ECONOMICS WITH THE ELITE-ATHLETE-APPROACH
ONE IS BOUND TO STRIKE GOLD.
BUT YOU REALLY SAID THAT ALSO MATH IS ONE OF THE STRONG ONES.

WHAT CAN THE BEST MATHEMATICIAN IN THE WORLD DO, EXCEPT EDUCATE AND GET PRIZES. WHAT CAN HE DO WITH REALITY?

IF YOU ANSWER YOU WILL HELP ME EXTREMELY MUCH.
I HAVE BEEN READING YOUR BOOKS FOR 20 YEARS intensively, TO FIND A WAY INTO REALITY FROM THE MATHEMATICAL FIELD.

SINCERELY,

GEORGE VEDEL

Happy Holly-Days,

Self confidence through complete knowledge. . .very solid guidance. We may not all feel we possess access to a stellar Gemini brain such as The Donald, so here are a few suggestions to utilize his wisdom more confidently. I recommend using "The Holosync Solution" from Centerpointe Research for relieving the brain of insecurities and self defeating thoughts, among a plethora of other benefits. If you have ever wondered what is preventing you from blooming into full flower in our beautiful world. . . this is the ticket. Also, Learning Strategies has wonderful "Paraliminals" using the Holosync technology, designed to focus on specific areas of interest. These include "Personal Genius", "Focus & Concentration", and "Talking to Win", to name only a few. The latter being a way to utilize the wisdom expressed in the above article on ". . . Being a Great Public Speaker". You can access these personal mastery tools at www.centerpointe.com & www.learningstrategies.com. Your ability to "Plug & Play" what you learn at Trump U will skyrocket, as will your gratitude for life itself.

All The Best,

For anyone who would like to release the fears of public speaking, and utilize all of the knowledge you possess as expressed in the above article. . .you may want to try The Sedona Method. This is a simple, effective way to acknowledge and release whatever feelings you may be having.

Good Luck!

In response to the question posted by William Yang on 12/12/2007 6:09 AM

Since even the best prepared person does not know everything there is to know, occassionally, a question will be asked, that you need to research. The best way to deal with this is to tell them that it is a good question, and it is worthy of a good answer. You can tell them you would like their contact information so you can get back to them with the answer. Then, write the question down on the slip with their contact info. After the presentation, follow up. Find the answer and send it to them. When this happens, it is an opportunity to learn for you too.
