Ever notice how when you attend a class or seminar, you automatically place the lecturer on a “pedestal” and give him/her credit for being more knowledgeable than you on that particular subject?
So, it only makes sense in your business, to find strategic ways to get in front of your target audience (prospects) and teach them things from your unique prospective. When you “lecture” to your prospects, you have instant credibility with them and become the “expert” in their eyes. You are able to “slant” your class toward your company, product or philosophy all while gaining their trust.
I host 3 monthly classes for Realtors called “Wine and Wisdom” in the Dallas area. Each class is held in the “backyard” target area for the agents with whom I wish to work and my goal is to get 20-30 agents to come for a 1 hour continuing education class on a relevant topic. I don’t teach all of the Realtor classes but hire licensed trainers to teach them while I emcee. I have a couple of sponsors pitch in and help underwrite the cost of the event and I give them a short time to get up in front of the group and talk about their company. The best part is that we have the classes at different wine bars around town and serve complimentary wine and hors d oeuvres.
My point is that you don’t have to be able to teach a class, just be creative and organize a function that your target market will enjoy attending.

And a teacher is a leader. But, we never put them on a pedestal. A big ego can ruin a Company and alter a lives. We try to "create a positve path for success." which is our business motto. We don't try to slant people views. Objective and independent. To teach, learn, guide and control our own futures. We had something very special and very profound in our profile. And we created a new website link:
"The Trump Angel Investors.com" and linked on our main website.
You asked if any-one wanted to share organized events. We work with charity. Splitting profits on a 50/50 basis for fundraising. We are putting together a charity concert. If, any one wants to view a sample please go to our new Angel link. on our main website. We want fresh talent. We heard that Musicangel is in need of a cam recorder or a digital webcam. We will send you one free MusicAngel...but will you contact us and talk about performing an e-mail video of your songs? We would love to help you. And introduce You.
Another great thing about teaching is how much more you learn in the process. You asked for ideas from others who had organized events. I'm not sure what kinds of ideas you are looking for. I have organized and worked collaboratively on many events in both volunteer and employed capacity, and I would be happy to serve as a resource. The ideas posted by member1904770 on 01/13/2009 9:08 AM sound very intriguing.

I also do Real Estate seminars, we host them in Arizona. I completely agree that you become the expert in their eyes with these events. Two things we have found supportive; First of all we include a lot of data and information to back up all of the information and opinions we share. Second we invite other local authorities/experts in different fields that are impartial third parties with nothing to gain from sharing their opinions and expertise (meaning they are not getting a commission or fee from the properties we are selling) to do the seminars with us. What the other local expert gains is more credibility and more networking and more referrals to their business. Of course the win-win is we get the same.
