Father's Day Advice from My Father

Sunday is Father’s Day which, of course, always makes me think of my dad, Fred C. Trump.

I learned a lot from my father, especially about business. Probably the best advice I ever had came from him. He had a four-step formula for getting things done:  Get in. Get it done. Get it done right. And Get out.

Simple, concise, and it works.

The other thing my father told me was to “know everything you can about what you’re doing.” I’ve followed that advice too, and I think it’s apparent that it works. I’m very thorough, as he was, and it can save you a lot of time in the long run.

I know I wouldn’t be the businessman I am if it weren’t for my father. I hope I pass on the same drive and determination to my children that he gave to me.

Happy Father’s Day.

Donald J. Trump is Chairman of Trump University.

Mr. Trump, that is sage advice. From what I've read about your father, he was a great man. When I was in NYC, I met several people who actually knew your father and they had nothing but positive things to say about him. One gentleman, in particular, an Italian businessman from Queens, said that he knew him, personally, and he had very kind remarks about him. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! You were smart to listen and learn from your father. Many children take their parents for granted and don't learn as much as they should from them.

Mr. Trump, what about one of your father's favorites: DON'T QUIT! (also the title of a poem that he loved). I found out the hard way, that, when you quit, you die a little inside...but, if you work your way back, it's possible to re-build that character. Now, the thought of quitting never even crosses my mind. And, I attribute that to staying strong, and holding true to my own personal constitution. I no longer allow others to adversely influence me. Your book, ART OF THE DEAL, certainly left a huge impact on me!

Hey, please make sure that someone is keeping the dust off of Mr. Fred's portrait, will you?

And, spending 2007 with my own father, quite likely the smartest man in the world, was life-changing. He taught me patience, humility, and, one phrase of his that I love is, "Ya know, I stopped worrying about what other people think...a long time ago." That means a lot because you ultimately have to do what is right for you, and, not what everyone else thinks is best for you.

I'm going to get this in early because I think I'm right... I believe your birthday is upon us, as well... the 14th, isn't it? You get the double-whammie, or, double-play weekend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mr. Trump, and, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! You're the best! You trump the rest!

Happy Father's Day to you, Mr. Trump!

It's sweet the way you've always spoken so highly of your Dad.

Dear Mr. Trump,

you are perfectly right! It is always a pleasure to recognize the things learned in life from the parents' experience. Some people simply forget about their parents, don't care about them without even thinking that if they are successful or if they passed successfully some hard periods in life, part of the success is related in a way or the other to "at least" the parent's karma. Of course, this view depends on the kind of parents everybody has ... because many parents don't care about their children. So, it is a circle.

Anyway, thank you for the words of wisom you wrote to us about Father's Day. I will try to make a nice gift to my father.

Kind regards,

Happy Father's Day to Mr. Trump!

I think it's only 3 steps:
- Input
- Process with good performance
- Output

I pray you gonna have children too because at the moment if I'm not wrong, you are still not married yet.

What I learn t from my beloved father are:
1-No:
- No smoking,
- No drinking,
- No gambling
- No sexual immorality
- No quarreling in the family

2- Helping:
- Helping family members
- Helping the society

3- Progressive
- Self progressive
- Family progressive
- Society progressive

One crucial thing I learn t from father is gave the very poor and vulnerable people treatments without taking money.

He used to be the one who talked to the very poor and vulnerable people who have no one to talk to at the hospital.

He was the one who loved me unconditionally.

Most Father want their children to have a bright future, but most children always be blinded by their love affair with different sex. Many times the children have to come back to their children after facing problems, but they still think their love between different sex is greater than them.

Somehow, the Bible said in Deuteronomy 5:16 " Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you " .

I wish this Father's Day will bring Mr. Trump successful in business and happiness, and may your father's words dwell in you and proper your business. God bless you.

My highest respect,

Dany

To pay tribute to all fathers on fathers day...this Sunday June 15th! It brings a sore issue to fathers and child support officers. The lack of acknowledgement with more respect in child support...with fathers. We as fathers, just as mothers want respect...we pay tribute to all fathers! A parent is a parent regardless.

We know Trump.com does pays tribute to Mr. Trumps father...and his books acknowkedge his wisdom and tools of the trade. What a great investment...in Mr. Donald Trump! A true and inspired book of stories.

Dear Mr. Trump,

Something I was taught about success: "before you take on any challenge in life, get for yourself the best tools to work with, and one of the best tools is modeling yourself after the best." At another level, I do believe your success is divinely inspired, although you tend to not talk about spirituality much... you're not fooling me, heh. I was walking around an university one day in Harlem, and God said to me, "if you want success in real estate, model yourself after Donald Trump." Now you don't have to believe that's what happened, but the point is the same... model the best. The knowledge that we share with the next generation continues to live on after we are long gone.

Happy birthday and Father's Day to you Mr. Trump, all the best.

Regards,

Mr Trump,

I have learnt a lot of things about you and your father from tv shows, your books and now your blog.
I hope you can continue to impart knowledge that you have inherited from your father.
Its good to know you and also good to know what your father's insights were.
They made you who you are today and we are very grateful for that. Don't let it dissapear into thin air after you've gone. Put away some good real estate so that if your children happen to fall again the way you had, they wouldn't need to start from scratch. You inherited good knowledge and knowing good people can make a lot of difference in today's world. Get the children involved in the business and don't stop what you do best ! Let them sit on your lap while you make phone calls and make great deals while you're still around. They can't learn everything, but at least let the momentum continue to run in the future generation. We want to see your style, knowledge, words, action, energy and insights to stay forever.

Happy Father's Day, Mr Trump.

As I have stated in previous posts, anyone who is blessed enough to have solid mentorship in the field they wish to pursue is ahead of the game in this world. It is so hard to get your foot in doors, unless of course you are Donald Trump or related to him or someone like him. I think it is rare and special to have the mentorship or parents who guide offspring towards success, something to celebrate indeed. I am in the Bay area right now, looking to get my foot in the front door of a publishing company or even in the front door of the Chronicle, it is hard to do. Knowing people who know people and having a legacy behind you to open otherwise difficult doors is a big bonus. I have often wished that I was related to someone like Mr. Trumps father, and honestly believe that if I were I would be sitting on top of a publishing empire by now. It is not only the legacy or the name that opens doors, but it seems like families that have a history of achievement pass this skill set on to their children, and the rest of us without parents who have a history of achievement have to learn everything the hard way, if we learn at all. Mr Trump you have lived a charmed life, I have the utmost respect for you, and feel your children are among the luckiest people to have someone like you to call "dad". Not everyone in the world has advantages like your family legacy- your children are very blessed indeed.
Happy Fathers day to all the fathers out there! (sorry for the late post on the topic I was in route to a new adventure)
