The Rewards of Real Estate Mentoring

My last blog about real estate mentoring was aimed at challenging readers to reach out and mentor others. Part two is all about reaching up the ladder and seeking mentoring from others who can provide valuable information to help you grow both personally and professionally. Just like in religion, we seek mentoring from our pastors, preachers, rabbis etc. What I am suggesting is to find a real estate mentor of integrity, who has been there, done that, and get them to help you learn what to do and not to do in order to achieve your ultimate goals.   You don’t have to “re-invent the wheel”. Contrary to what you think, you don’t know it all nor were you probably the teacher of the guy who knows it all. It’s okay to seek advice or help with an open mind from others who have succeeded.

On a personal level, if you’re interested in getting in shape, find a personal trainer who can work with your schedule and get in a routine with them. They will lay out the steps for you to have success based on the goals you set for yourself.

In business, look to see who is doing well at whatever it is you do and volunteer to intern with them. Perhaps hiring on with them is not a bad idea either so you can learn how to operate in a successful system like the one they have. Of course, I am a proponent of entrepreneurial endeavors but if you are not successfully operating your own business and are researching how to start one, look to those who have the systems in place from which to learn. You may find that you can simply invite them to meet for coffee, informally pick their brains about their business and the challenges you are facing, and they will offer advice and mentorship and help identify your skills.

This time I want to challenge you to identify both a personal and professional weakness you have and share with me how you are going to go about finding a mentor to help you improve in those areas.

That was a wow factor...a very good artilcle! A lot of very valuable information that people every-day simply miss very valid points or just dont "get it." LOL

"True endurance starts when you are in competition with yourself first" Start with-in yourselves first and grow, learn and attain the right guides. Nobody will ever be an "expert" in all areas...find a team that fits. Who guides you in what you are seeking? Choose your guides wisely.

TrumpU is a guide...a huge differance in order to start your own qwest.

There is few people in the world, who actually have planned their own future.. I mean, they may plan their personally life like finding the man/woman of their dreams, how many kids they want, have a normally job or just hope to have enough time to keep up their training two or three times a week. But professionally, to actually plan their own future and invest in their own education, it’s far away from their mind.
Of course people want to achieve financial freedom, but as long as they have the above, they don’t really care..
To think about getting a mentor and to actually do something about it, is two different things..
People are "weak" and choose the easiest way through life, and there is nothing wrong with that..

Or maybe the thought about life is different here I Norway contrary to America?

When I divorced my husband 12 years ago and become a single mum with 4 children (3,5,6 and 8) I had to do a choice, I was an educated chef but the payment and the working hour wasn’t doable with 4 smaller kids.
After many rounds with myself, I manage to find my inner mentor - a voice who draw a path for me to go..
I saw my chance when an IT- company bought the company I worked in, and spent the next 3 months to persuade the CEO of the technical unit to give me a job as a pc technician.

After 4 year as a technician, I decided to take a huge chance and quit my job to spend 1 year on a it-academy, I needed my knowledge on the paper. And have worked as an IT consultant since then.

Four years from now, we will move to the US because my youngest son will have further education there. To manage to be ready for the internationally job market I have to start thinking about develop myself further..
And I started with post-qualifying education and am now studying Bachelor Management. When I’m done with that I’m going to take Master in the same field, with specialization within international management and business, because I want a deeper understanding.
We all could have had good use of a mentor or team, but if you aren’t determent enough it doesn’t matter who’s helping you because you will never manage to achieve your goal.
If you have the right focus, work hard and believe in yourself you can achieve whatever you want with or without the mentor.

I’m not talking about reinvent the wheel, just saying that before you find that "someone" you have to decide where to go.
Find your own strength and your inner mentor and I’m sure we all will succeed in whatever goal we have :)

Mr. Carman, you asked me to "identify both a personal and professional weakness you have and share with me how you are going to go about finding a mentor to help you improve in those areas."

Personally, I don't toot my own horn, and professionally, I lack experience at negotiating. Finding the mentor isn't the problem, I came to Trump U, and anyone affiliated with Trump U, including Mr. Trump is more than qualified to be a mentor. The key is how can I convince him or you that I will make this investment worth his or your time - because this will take the two things I am needing to develop. Any suggestions?
