I’ve had my fill of naysayers and critics. To me it’s a negative approach that doesn’t serve any purpose. Here’s a quote by Theodore Roosevelt that I keep handy because it’s so right on:

It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.

The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena: whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again...

who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions and spends himself in a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat.

That’s saying it all about going for it!

This is yet another understated subject. Criticism exists virtually everywhere, and is almost always excessive and frequently counterproductive in nature. You know what I love? Thoughtful criticism: "This plan sounds like a bit of a stretch for reasons x, y and z, but it may have more merit if approached from angles x and y." It's very easy to critique something if your only goal is to shoot the idea down. It's much more difficult to critique something with the intent of helping to determine a better solution. In short, if you have nothing thoughtful to say, then say nothing.

Mr. Trump's observations tend to be short, concise and always spot on. It's a wise presentation approach for people to adapt. Eloquence is important, but so is the goal of delivering your message in a way that makes it easy and quick for everyone to absorb and relay. Quotes can be used to speak volumes in a brief sentence, and Mr. Trump's affinity for them can be easily understood.

I am a single parent of four wonderful grown children and now looking back through three businesses and always a second job no matter what there was always some negative opposition as far as people around me. I beleive these individuals that beleive in throwing the towel in and only looking for the negative in obstacles are dooming their selves to failure or just don't have the tenacity to push. I do not wish to settle as a 44 year woman and be content with the way things are for with hard work and drive I can make a difference again and again .. I lost everything I had to a failing business two years ago ,yet my oldest son graduated from St. Johns College in Annapolis,MD . I have been to the point with only beans and rice for a week yet I never gave up. Our society is not set up for people to fail .People set-up for people to fail if we let them.

Hi I am a 29 yr old male self taught after High School.

I'd just like to point out that there are only 2 billioniare names attached with clothing today as far as I can see.

Donald Trump...

That is a great piece. We live in an imperfect world, and we are all works in progress. I heard once that the word perfection's root actually meant completeness or wholeness, but today, we expect it to mean flawlessness. People will always find what they look for in situations and in others. I try to distance myself from hardcore fault finders.

A few years ago, I heard a man got tired of negativity, and he started a movement. He pledged to himself he would go 30 days without complaining. He put a purple wrist band on one wrist, and everytime he complained, he had to start over again with the wrist band on the other wrist. I salute him. I believe it was Ghandi who said "Be the change you want to see"

When I receive criticism that is particulary brutal, I ask myself if it is valid. If not, I try to identify what motivated the person to attack. Was it for power and control? Was it from jealousy? Sometimes there are ways to minimize or address those issues, but its good to remember who owns the problem.
