Barack Obama Election Ushers in A Different World

This week I was interviewed by Dominic Carter of New York 1, on his program called Inside City Hall.  New York 1 is an all-news program that is popular in New York City, and Dominic Carter is someone I have a great deal of respect for. He should have a national show, but then New York would miss out on his full time and dynamic presence here. He describes me as “a man not known for keeping his opinions to himself” and the interview spanned two consecutive nights.

On Tuesday night we covered some interesting topics. Dominic asked about the election and I was honest about it. McCain was in an almost impossible situation. Bush has been so incompetent that any Republican would have a hard time unless they could bring back Eisenhower. He was a disaster for the country as well as for the Republican Party.

Then he asked me about Barack Obama. I told him that Barack will need to be a great president, because we’re in serious trouble as a country. It hasn’t been this way since 1929. So he doesn’t have much choice--he will simply have to be great, which he has a very good chance of being. I saw him speak in Berlin, and what he has done is amazing. The fact that he accomplished what he has in one year is truly phenomenal.

Dominic mentioned my unique alliance with Al Sharpton. I told him that I understand Al. He is just doing his thing. That is our philosophy.

After 9/11, this country had a lot of compassion from countries around the world. Within a short amount of time, we were hated. How did that happen? We had no dialog with other countries because they just plain hated us. I think we know who is responsible for that. What’s different today is that we have a new chance, a new beginning. The world is excited about Barack Obama and the new United States. Let’s keep it that way!

Hello Mr. Trump! It's been a while since I visited. Glad to hear you think Obama is up to the challenge of being a great president....say, when can I expect to hear back from you about my non-fiction masterpiece which I fed exed to your Trump Tower pad called, How Oprah, Donald Trump and Jesus helped me turn a midlife crisis on its exquisite nose? I really thought you'd be tickled by it and would have endorsed it just for fun. What happened???

Anyhoo, this economy is for the birds, isn't it, Mr. Trump? Obama's really going to need some brilliant ideas. He should definitely appoint you to something. Would you take a cabinet position if offered? Or are you too busy building billion dollar high rises?

President-elect Obama has a tough road to travel, but myself and others believe that he could do the job. It's amazing that when G.W. Bush was in office other nations avoided him. Now the world welcomes President-elect Obama with open arms. Awesome.

Three points on this for all that may think this may be good....

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT GOD CANT BE STOPPED....AND AN INNOCENT SOUL...

the bible may be meant to explain what we are supposed to DO in the end days....

the bad stuff may be what happens when we try to do it.

FROM HIS HAND....as it says....which we cant fight....

so heres my three examples....

1. 1 seed may bring 9 more from the earth.

technology and agricutlure has changed...

but what if we keep the methods of production....

and get rid of the chemicals like the days of old?

maybe i dont know....

2. the mark may be the letter i....like i me one...

institute it...now theres many or all or maybe 1...

the soul may be an individual...

and the all may be everyone.

3. goliaths sword of david may be the internet and what we learn to to to groups when we fight them lol

so yeah the bible may be where science is supposed to lead us.

think about it ...what better gains then science doing what religion says to.

enjoy your day

Mr. Trump,
Are you willing and ready for a position within the administration of our future President Obama? The world is aware of your coming back from financial crisis, maybe there is a way that that experience could translate on a national or global field.

To Mr. Trump

One important ingredient to leadership is humbleness. What I see in Barack Obama is a humble heart. President Obama mentioned about the importance of WORKING TOGETHER(the people, countries, and even McCain) in order for positive change. He was willing to admit that he could not do what is needed without HELP.
Another important ingredient is that of listening. A large amount of the help needed was focused to the people which, to my assumption, would mean that Obama was saying they were ready and willing to put more effort into LISTENING to the people.

Congratulations President Obama

What do you think????

Dear Mr. Trump;
1. Question is on the "Korbell decision" will President Obama offer BLM Land to Native Americans for Settlement and why do we need to go to tribes reconized in 1938. As you know the Indian Agents were told at that time to relocate 10 to 14 year old cherokee children to reservations throughout the country making them a landless tribe and shunned by the Native Americans who were on the reservation. Yes, I am talking about United States Government legal kidnapping sanctioned by this administration.

2. ZAP World is making electric vehicles NOW! Why not offer that bailout money for what it was intended. Zap is on the Over the Counter NASDAQ as ZAAP. They opened a factory two months ago in Knoxville Kentucky employing 2500 laid off GM workers, and this week ZAP opened another factory in Uraguay(www.zapworld.com/news ).

3. What is happening to the Veterans Small Business Administration GRANT? If Politicians are for the veterans, then offer this soloution $100K Grant would be aprobiate with Retired Executive help.

Glad to see you on board with Obama. I've been awed by what I've seen since the DNC. I believe that he can lead us out of this crisis. Also think that if you liked the Clintons, then you will like Obama. They had higher taxes for the wealthy too- but it helped the economy because it helped the middle class. No matter what anyone says- if you make the rich wealthy, they'll keep it among themselves and that will destabilize the economy- but if you make the middle class wealthy- they'll spend it and that will fuel the world economy. No one is going to be able to buy condos in Trump Towers if people are not buying Christmas presents at Walmart. Trickle down economics is wishful thinking. Trickle up economics is the reality.

Was glad to see the banks start offering 40 year mortgages to distressed home owners. I think that is the only way to get home values up. There are a lot of people who don't care how much the home costs- they care what it will cost them each month. If they had started giving longer mortgages at the height of the boom instead of interest only loans and balloon payments- then we would be in a much better place right now- if they are right when they said that this crisis is caused by bad home debt. A fixed longer term mortgage is permanent and stable- as long as people keep their income steady- while anything that balloons is going to cause intability once everyone's balloons are due. Couldn't figure out why this wasn't tried before. It's just common sense, but then I guess that common sense is just not that common.

I hope some of you get to watch Nick Scandone and Diane McKinnon sail for paralympic gold which happened on October 13 Quingdao. It is finaly going to be on NBC Sports. Did you know that Native Americans could have a fully accesable sailing organization with all the ancilary equipment for seventy thousand? I hope our new president encourages the gaming tribes to give back and produce.

Remember the three servants and the owner. Please, if you are a Native American enjoying the fruits of gaming invest it and multiply your talents. Let us revive the Spirit of Chumash in Legend and take care of mother earth and use the water resources. This would benefit all including the Native Americans who see nothing but money. The Mohegans-Powhattons-Pbnescott have not lost their tradition. The Cherokee Nation is setting their children to colleges and promoting taking care of their resources. It sure beats having three lakes one is Diamond Valley Lake at 3.3 billion acre feet and closed indefinitley.

I hope whomever takes over the department of Interior and the Bureau of Indian Affairs revive these traditions so that our natural wonders will be preserved with the richness of Native American traditions to enjoy for all.

What different world? Has some miracle cure for lying, deception, breaking promises and getting away with it, happen when I was asleep? Starting with the President and going right down the food chain to the vagrant on the street, who among us goes a day without praying to their god called "Money?" Americans are so obsessed with the "greenback" that not a day goes by without mention of it. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Veteran's Day, Earth Day ... are holidays that advertisers love.
Not because they have any great love for what they symbolize, but to see if their profits were higher this year.

President Bush did not create this lust for power, profits and ego building toys like yachts, private jets,
high priced real estate, and having sex with a person other than your spouse. So why blame him for the actions of private citizens?

If America is sincere about wanting change, then each American needs to look at his or her contribution to what is being done today. The President did not cause AIDS. He did not pollute our oceans and clean water. He did not put tons of plastic and debris in landfills that can't be decomposed and used for natural fertilizer.

Americans need to stop looking for a scapegoat, and start paying attention to the real cause that is hurting America. One look into a mirror should give you a clue.

I have admired you for many, many years Mr Trump, but I cannot agree with you President elect Obama? This is a man soiled in controversy and more of a typical power hungry politician than any I have seen in a long time. Socialism and Marxism seems to be his philosophy and I truly believe he will be the downfall of this great country. The wealthiest people, top 5% of the population, are already footing an enormous tax burden and now they will be asked to do even more so that Obama can provide to people, many of whom don't have any ambition or care to succeed and who don't even contribute to the tax system. To sit and talk to destructive world leaders who will play Obamas game while behind closed doors they are building nuclear weapons is a huge mistake that will cost all of us dearly. To provide housing, insurance, drivers licenses, eduation and social security to millions of people that are in OUR country illegally while many Americans can't put food on their tables is rediculous and destructive. I am truly amazed at your support for this man and I can only imagine that there will be something in it for you.

Obama needs to do a good job in his presidency because otherwise our country is going to fail.
[-] Posted by member1880769 on 11/22/2008 6:24 AM
President Elect the person of barack Obama, my advise to him as the president of United States of America he should be thinking of using the best persons not just best persons but best brains to work with him as the new president elect, he should not look at faces, for him to think of coming to contest as president and he won the election such a dream or vision is a dream and a vision of person that think like God.

He should be prepared to face opposition in all areas of life, i know that he is prepared to withstand what soever that will come on his ways, and i pray for me for God to give him the wisdom to lead not to rule, but to lead America to a greater hiegth at the end the people of America will never forget some one like Obama even the world at large.

I'm grateful for having this opporpunity to make a comment.

Yes, I hope that Obama leads well.I also hope that he will be less concerned with what Europe likes and doesn't like about our country and more concerned with doing the right thing for America first and foremost. Socialism and taking care of all of those that shouldn't be here or don't want to work to earn their way should not be a priority. Take care of Americans first and foremost for Americans are the most generous most accepting people in the world. We are not bad people doing bad things as the Democrats have suggested to win powerful political seats. With his socialist mindset, I do not think Obama will be able to do great things for this country. He must move to the middle with his thoughts and his ideas and work with all politicians to make progress. We will see! If he doesn't we can get him out in four years! That is what is great about America!

Is it naive of me to say that what happens in the States and which direction it will be led in, or brought to, does not rely on solely one man. It will be on the backs of every single citizen of the United States, and even many non-citizens as well from other countries. This is not a matter of one man changing the direction the country is headed, but every man, woman, and child doing their part to change the direction it has been heading, which leads us back to the quote "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what YOU can do for YOUR country". I believe it is really the only way.

Now is the time to pull together and to reach out to others. To help your neighbours (Sorry, I am Canadian..that's how we spell it). To care and to DO something. How can one man (Obama) see every area that needs change? We all have differences and differences of opinion even...but we all have eyes, or at least an ability to know our own situation and even that of those around us. That "Pay it Forward" mentality is a great one. That is the thinking that could change the world. See the humanity in things, not the bottom dollar. See the simple ways one can make a difference in this world to others. I know this is going to sound simple, and maybe even simple minded, and most probably naive, but if each person helped one other person, then we'd all be helped. If each person did something to care for another, we would all have someone caring for us.

It is simple, I am aware...but couldn't it be a start?

Obama needs to be a great President but won't due to his liberal economic and social beliefs.

Hi Mr. Trump.
After finishing reading your "Book think Big and Kick Ass", last year, i read questions commonly asked one of the questions asked was on who should people vote for and i remember very well Obama was not one of the your choices.
But i think you said the trueth, Bush's Administration was a very big flop for every Republican. And Obama is doing everything possible to keep the democrates back on truck, after some years of defeats from the Republicans.

History is never seen the things this generation has seen. The first time is always a special time.Man struggles to build monuments to future generations that can withstand the test of time.As far as the Twin Towers. The structure as being not so pleasing was not the point as much as the innocent lives that were lost. They cant be rebuilt. The pyramids are an example of a time tested monument. The reason for building it was somehow forgotten until now.I learned that we read the story wrong. The Egyptian`s were trying to save Man from a horrible fate. They left us all ample warning but if one cant read the signs it is in vain.I know the message they left,it is vital we heed it.But the replacement for the real estate under the site should be used as a monument that will last for ages as a reminder to stop the hate.!Only one shape could accomplish this.the Pyramid .! The pictures we engrave upon it would teach generations to know the tragedy hate brings. It could be a monument to mans achievements within out frailty.

Mr. Trump, I agree with you that The Eighties was a tremendously optimistic decade. Ronald Wilson Reagan was an incredible leader with great charisma. He had very sound economic practices. One particular strategy I agreed enthusiastically about was supply-side tax cuts. This encourages business starters and increases employment. I believe President-Elect Obama would be wise to study Reagan's economic implementations to further the success of his Presidency. In the words of Bill O'Reilly: "What say you?" My wife and I enjoy "The Apprentice."

Looking at the team great of people he is putting together, you will know that political climate of America will change for good and it is going to have effect on the rest of world at large.

Besides, the fact that a black America can become a president of a great nation like aAmerica, it reaffirm my belive that all things are possible.

Change is good. Time and tide waits for no man. However, one thing that you can learn from Obama is simply that there is always a possibility.

Now that he's in office, America will win the respect of the rest of the world and then, who knows what happens from there.

Nothing is impossible.

We simply have to keep on wishing and believe.

Dear Mr. Trump:

I value your opinion, I agree that President Barack Obama will have to be a great President, but I don't believe he is doing such a good job! he was not as concern with the poor in our community as he should have been when he was a Illinois State Senator. First he did allow his friend,Tony Rezko to have 11 slum buildings in his district that took advantage of some of the people in his district. As President he has helped to bail out the banks instead of choosing to bail out the people, but the people in the city of Chicago are losing their property at a outstanding rate! This is not to be blamed on President Bush this is to be blamed of President Obama!
PS. I am African American so no one will think this is a race issues.
Sincerely,
Mary Hartsfield
