Being different is what has made our country great.  We have the freedom to think, believe and achieve whatever we set our minds to do.  For that reason, we should set our sights on the big dreams we have for our careers.

With  “golden parachutes” failing to open for much of corporate America these days, entrepreneurship remains a growing trend.  It’s important that we keep finding ways to explore our ideas to the fullest and not dismiss them just because they may seem too grandiose.

Right now, the timing could be right for your brilliant idea and be just what your community, city, state or even nation needs.  Google became a billion dollar business in just 6 years with just a very simplistic idea.  Why not yours?

This is powerful confirmation; more millionaires were created immediately after the Great Depression in 1929 than in any other era in our nation’s history.  If indeed history repeats itself, then we could be headed for another boom-time right around the corner.  Keep your eyes open and your attitudes positive so you can recognize the next big opportunity that comes your way.

Have any of the readers missed out on or taken advantage of a great opportunity and want to share?

When things are good, most people grow complacent. A good shake up wakes up the hunger. America is prime for a new entrepreneurial age.

Your article reminds me of a quote I came across a long time ago. "There is no security on this Earth; there is only opportunity."--Douglas MacArthur

While I like the message, I would add the only security is the knowledge that you are capable and will survive and thrive.

it is easy to write about the way to succeed when one is already successful,it is quite another to start over with just the idea.even as i sit on the bottom i can see the top.the future is dependent on the past to keep one from repeating the same mistakes over.i am the poor, the disabled shoved under the rug but i am a positive thinker and i will persevere over my current state.as i am with out ,there is more out there with less than even i.i am going to grow and help others climb out of the rut and find acceptance in the world.if i made a million dollars selling my ideas to free energy i will build places for the unprivileged to live and work.the old system is not good any longer.with my studies in magnetic reactions i may have the ufo technology to freely travel the heavens.my prototype mag drive is working on a small scale.the oil industry is not my fuel supply.i forsee a multi trillion dollar industry rising from my knowledge.today this is a dream, tomorrow it may be reality.the dream is the biggie here.the power to dream.mr trump has a positive attitude.so do i,future is coming, peace, dana rene hoecker

Not sure if "Think big & Kick Ass" is the right game plan for small business owners or for people that want to pursue their life-long dreams.

Why did our nation fall? Not enough money. The aftermath, is very ill. Inspire your dreams by acting in due-diligence and knowledge.

We're in for another boom, it's going to come right when people least expect it. We're almost through this thing. Years from now, those who didn't invest now are going to be looking back kicking themselves for missing such amazing bargains. As Warren Buffet says: "Be fearful when others are greedy and be greedy when others are fearful".

Who would have thought that a business created by two industrial mechanics 16 months ago would result in sales in 14 countries and 45 states? We did because we "Think Big".

Far too many people are crippled - not by others, but by their own self-limiting thoughts. Now is the time to launch your idea or business model, while everyone else is complaining about how "bad" the economy is in their particular sector.

Do you want to have some control over your destiny? Become an entrepreneur - the risk will still be there, but at least you control how you will react or respond vs. how your employer will.

Find a need and fill it! Preferably doing something that you are passionate about. There's plenty of room at the top for the person who is willing to do what it takes to solve problems for others.

The invisible hand of opportunity seems to constantly favor those who love what they do, make your passion pay and your work will be more like play.

I believe people need education, support and encouragement from other capable minds to reach their full potentials, synergy always creates something greater than the sum of its parts. "T.E.A.M". Together Everyone Achieves More.

I've assembled 60 real estate authors and am producing a compendium of cutting edge real estate advice which I believe will help the reader make better educated decisions and relieve "FEAR" False Evidence Appearing Real.

Here is my current "Thinking Big Project": http://www.magicbullets.com/forum/showthread.php?p=58751#post58751

This is a fact, it is impossible to think of yourself at the same time as you think of others, think of ways to sincerely help other people and your troubles will begin to fade, it starts with a persistent nature of defaulting to a positive problem solving attitude: http://changethis.com/14.PositiveAttitude

To Mr. Carman

Opportunity Taken :

Kelowna, B.C. had a wildfire season a few years back. At the time, I was trying to start a community magazine focused on local talents and skills. I noticed many photos of the fire being sent in to be looked at on a local website. Although the fire was being very destructive, it was very beautiful to capture and very rare to see. With only a few months to the NEW YEAR,I came up with an idea of a calendar with photos of the wildfire.

First thing i knew was that i did not have the money or financial ability to cover any costs. I had to have a self-surity that it could be done. The questions : "Can I make the calendar in time?", "Where will i get the money for printing?", "How many should i print?", "How will I sell it?", "Where can I sell it?", "How many will sell?","what is the selling price?". Alot of contacting and preparation needed to be done in order to accomplish this task.

There were lots of people working together and generosity happening at that time in support of fighting the fire.At the time, there were fire t-shirts been sold where partial proceeds went in support of fighting the fire. Noticing the positive results with the shirts, i decided to make partial sales of the calendar go to a local charity. This action may hurt the profit, but not only would i get to give to charity, hopefully the charity could increase the reason for purchase resulting in higher sale and lessen the chance of loss.

I had to contact people, collect photos, sort photos, and make the graphic layout for the printing process. I printed out a promo version of the calendar to get some feedback from people and for taking to managers of local stores(some high trafficed such as wal-mart and Canadaian Tire). Because the calendar was involved in a charity and i would add the companies names in the thank-you section with a logo, many of the companies allowed the calendar to be sold in their store at no cost. With the positive feedback and help, i became more confident in the task. I met with managers of printing companies and tried to make a deal and they were asking more than i could afford. Until, one manager of "Ehmann's Printing" offered me an opportunity. The manager/owner believed in the idea
and liked what he saw, so he allowed my order of calendars to be printed on the condition i pay the bill off after they sell. It was a risky decision because i still did not know whether any of the calendars would sell. I then studied the ranges retail calendars are priced while also looking at the cost per calendar to print. I was able to make the selling price more affordable and reasonable to the consumer while still gaining profit.
The Calendars were printed and i delivered them to the stores, my heart was pumping and hoping for the best. The "NEW YEAR" arrives and all the work payed off...all that was left were a few personal keepsake calendars. I was able to pay the bill for printing and drop off $10,000 to a local charity. It was very exciting !!!!

I believe i had to take a few risks but it was also about,as my dad says in his book 'Life purpose', being in the "right" place at the "right" time, saying the "right' thing to the "right" person...am i "right"?...lol...as well as the opening of a door to opportunity from working together.

Opportunity Missed

I went up the hill for a drive and ended up on a mountain top. What I was surprised to see was a large sign that said "Trump International". I saw the name hiding on a hill down below which said "Okanagan Mountain". I wrote a small letter at one time to Mr. Trump concerning Kelowna. I don't know if Mr. Trump even read my letter or how he came into interest of kelowna, but it was surprising to see. I tried to search for some more info on the area, but could not find anything except for a small article written by a realtor mentioning the possibilities and no confirmation of Trump International in kelowna.

I went up to "Okanagan Mountain" one more time and the sign was knocked down, but there was someone up there taking pictures. I talked to him for a small while and he discussed how there was a promo video made of the location. I have no idea if it was one of Mr. Trumps realtors, but if it was...that was a missed opportunity...lol...

I don't know if the purchase and development has been confirmed on, but I would be honored to get an opportunity to apprentice or work for Mr. Trump, his son or daughter.

I know it's not an opportunity missed, but i sure wouldn't want to miss the opportunity!!

These are my stories, what do u think?

I just finished reading about Donny Deutsch and the headlines he made in the Post. His personal life should be left personal - although I am not infavor of cheating spouses, this was unfortunate for all involved.

What I am more upset about is The Big Idea being cancelled - due to poor ratings! The poor ratings were over the past couple of months when they changed the format from helping entrepreneurs to talking about the wall street crisis.

Ok, a show or two about that would have been fine, but they dragged it on too long and lost the viewers.

We (the entrepreneurs, small business owners) need a show like The Big Idea. We need the tools, the encouragement, the advice, the feedback - we need to see that its not rocket science, that there's no hidden message or secret to becoming successful.

Donald - this would be a perfect show for you or your son Eric to take over. A show that brings the inventer, entrepreneur, small business owner face-to-face with successful business people who want to share their lessons learned.

At one point, The Big Idea was the most popular show on CNBC. Donny was like Oprah for Small Business Owners. If he talked about your business or product on his show, you would see a spike in website traffic.

Donald, if CNBC doesn't reinstate the show, then someone like you should pick up where he left off.

Please help us - show us how to weather this storm - show us how to succeed.

On the 50`s and 60`s the business model considered as part of its great image the size, then, was easy to find huge corporations with thousands and thousands of employees, having everything on–board. At that time, was a right business decision, but what about today?

Today we can divide daily operation`s company in two:

- "its business core, how they make money" and,

- "What they need to do its business".

This second part usually makes companies to hire people to handle, accountants, secretaries, lawyers, etc, areas with no expertise.-

So if you are capable to be focused in your business, and let those areas where you are not an expert, you will be able to improve your company, and expend more time and manpower to increase your profits.

But, how?

First of all is needed to define what you want to Outsource, and where.

Where:

Traditionally India has been the first option to consider Outsourcing, Legal Process Outsourcing, IT Process Outsourcing, business Process Outsourcing.

Recently, new options are on the market, and Costa Rica is one of these. For Year my company http://www.dyncr.com has been given assistance to foreign mostly US companies to start and run its back office in Costa Rica. At this time after year im confident about the successfully experience, the great results they get, and the manpower they found here.

If you add the time zone, flight time, airfare costs, Costa Rica is by far one of the best option in America. And it is not new, HP, Zykes, Intel and many other companies are here since many year ago.

What:

Maybe more than 10 year ago in Costa Rica, many people started working with English speakers companies, attending areas like clerical, secretarial, accounts, etc. This experience makes ease to find employees with great English skills and with experiences and knowledge to deal with foreigners, in fact, is known that Costarican people are not concern with the foreign investors, otherwise our people are comfortable having business and or working for foreigners.

Today Costa Rica, has a great technology base, and due new regulations (CAFTA for example) there are new options and competitor offering services in this area.

So, again im confident about lot of options to find in Costa Rica, for example

Legal Dictation and Transcription Outsourcing,

Medical transcription outsourcing services,

Business transcription outsourcing.

Translation Services.

There are many things that you have to consider in putting up a business such as the location, products and most especially money. Since money is a social resource it is playing a key role for a business to run. In order to become successful in your chosen business, you have to overcome all the struggles that may come. Because success is never been measured on the amount of money you earned or you have right now, but rather it is on the struggles that you overcome and the lesson that you’ve learned. In addition to this, if you are short on cash and you need financial assistance in starting up a business you can always look for payday loans to help you through. On the other hand, Sir Allen Stanford couldn't get a big enough quick loan to keep himself off of law enforcement radar. The Texas based financial magnate was caught and taken into custody on suspicion of fraud, and violating the codes of the SEC. He'll need a quick loan pretty soon for a good attorney. He tried to flee the country, but in a case of delicious irony, the company refused to take his credit card. Charges will likely soon be brought in criminal court against the billionaire. With the increased scrutiny on misdealing in the financial world lately, it's likely that no one would bet even a small <a href="http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/2009/02/20/stanford-fou... loan</a> on him getting away with it.
