Why I Selected Clint Black for Celebrity Apprentice

I selected Clint Black to appear on Celebrity Apprentice because Clint is not only a gifted musician and songwriter, but he’s a good businessman. He has his own record company and has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. He’s bringing a lot of talent to the boardroom.

Becoming a star recording artist requires determination, talent, hard work and, yes, luck. As any successful musician can tell you, it's a lot easier to fall out of the spotlight than it is to climb into it, which is why Clint Black was especially smart to secure his future with the establishment of Equity Music Group, a record company he co-founded in 2003. In addition to Clint, Equity Music is the home to country music stars Laura Bryna, Carolina Rain, Kevin Fowler and Blake Wise.

Of course, Clint never let himself fall out of the spotlight. He has written, recorded and released more than 100 songs, a benchmark for any artist. Astoundingly, one third of his singles achieved hit song status at Country Radio and, as I mentioned, he has sold over 20 million records.

Clint Black appears on Celebrity Apprentice to benefit the charity International Rett Syndrome Foundation (http://www.rettsyndrome.org/). Sadly, Clint's brother, Kevin Black, lost his daughter, Cortney, to Rett syndrome several years ago. The mission of IRSF is to fund research for treatments and a cure for Rett syndrome while enhancing the overall quality of life for those living with Rett syndrome by providing information, programs, and services.

Rett syndrome is neurodevelopmental disorder that strikes in infancy or early childhood. While Rett occurs mostly in females, it can affect boys too and is found in every ethnic group throughout the world. Most people living with Rett syndrome require extensive assistance with all aspects of their daily life.
