Donald Trump's Economic Survival Tips

What’s happened to the economy has been likened to a tsunami as well as an implosion. When the undersea earthquake and subsequent tsunami hit in Indonesia in 2004, the world was stunned by the devastation that took place. It triggered earthquakes around the globe as far away as Alaska. It happened in a very short amount of time.

This kind of event takes shape over a period of time and then erupts with incredible force. What happened this past year is similar in that respect--it’d been brewing for some time. When it hit, it was like a tsunami which caused other economies to start crumbling as well. We are all familiar with that scenario. What we need to do now is deal with it.

The aftermath of a tsunami requires surveying the damage, picking up the pieces and moving on. Some people have bigger losses than others, but everyone has to keep going.

When it comes to implosion, it’s more of a cave-in than a wipe-out, but equally potent. We saw the effects of an implosion watching the towers fall on 9/11. It’s a domino effect. We won’t sink because we can swim, but let’s not go the way of dominos. Let’s be smart and learn to think for ourselves in positioning ourselves for what comes next. Here are a few survival tips:

  • Pay attention to national and international news and finance coverage at least several times a day, preferably hourly. In volatile times, vigilance is necessary.

  • Absorb, assess, and then act. Knowledge without action is impotence.
  • When a tsunami hits, there’s no time for procrastination. Keep your momentum in tune with the times.
  • Avoid your comfort zone--it’s probably outdated anyway.
  • If you’re honest, you should know the questions that should be asked, as well as the answers. That’s probably why there’s so much confusion out there today.
  • Remember The Blitz. That can put things into perspective. Things may be tough and getting tougher, but we’re not being bombed day in and day out either. If you don’t know what The Blitz is, use your time wisely to study WWII to find out.
  • Is your life half empty or half full? Half is better than zip. Count your blessings.
  • Realize that fear is the exact opposite of faith.
  • Resolve to be bigger than your problems. Who’s the boss?
  • Don’t negate your own power. Whatever you’ve been dealt, know you can deal with it.

Some very inspiring & down-to-earth advice here from Mr Trump.

It is in these hard times that we uncover our potential to stay strong & positive. Mr Trump's words restore hope in all of us & encourage us to continue to "think big, live large" - no matter what situation we find ourselves in.

Hello Mr Trump,
You are an amazing person! You inspire and make people think. I like your positivity, and the words that you use to push the human being to not stopping when a catastrophe happens. Thank you.
Sincerely,

Stay with the plan. Don't deviate. Pursue the final goal. And remember, money talks, .... and, well, .... you know the rest. :)

As many of us have come to expect, Mr. Trump is so very thoughtful - the focus and careful process he uses to address important issues contues to amaze me. At times such as now it is very good to have a strong positive and "on the mark" input. I am certain our elected officials should take some very useful and sorely needed lessons from "The Donald". Now how do we get them to stop talking the hype and listen up? Thank you Mr. Trump for being your wise self and sharing that wisdom.

Sincerly

Mr. Trump,

I always enjoy catching the latest posts here. You offer some great food for thought. The advice above is priceless, but since I haven't accumulated vast sums to worry about losing, I will probably not be as vigilent at watching ever minute of the markets rignt now. I have always believed that money is a great tool, and it is a renewable resource. Even in tough financial times, there are many ways we can experience personal wealth in things that enrich our spirit. Many of those things require investments other than money. I believe that the most important gifts I can invest personally are my time and my attention. When invested in the right places such as in my friends, significant other, my children, my parents, my grandchildren, the payback is astronomical. I wish you and all the other participants in this blog enough of the things that money can't buy to lead full lives.

Thank you for the opportunities you offer for continued learning. You have earned your place and I recognize and respect the unbelievable attention to detail that you invest in your successes. I understand why so many people look to you as a mentor.

Every single word Mr. Trump writes should be carved in stone for people to read in the good times and the not so good times! Faith in yourself , having a rock solid team on your side like Trump University, is the solution! May i add, Read every book that Mr. Trump as ever written! and i mean that! but, to me, reading is just the beginning, we have to put this profound knowlage into action! because if not, the information is just printed words on a page...! one more thought, as Mr.Trump recommends reading about the history of the world and about the men and wormen that have made huge impacts upon all of us, i would respectfully ask that you read the life of our first president, George Washington, i am amazed at the similarities between these two great men ! all my best , William Morgan

Excellent tips for these uncertain financial times. I especially like the comparisson to WWII times, in that we aren't being bombed or in constant fear for our safety in that manner. This is absolutely a time to count our blessings and also be smart(er) about our decisions in all manner of life.

Exactly! We all need to keep faith. While some people are letting "bombs" go off in their own heads, it is those who difuse them who will come out on top. In other words...we create our reality with how we think...how we think transforms our lives (whether it's in a good direction or in a bad one)...and as of right now (11:20 PM Sunday night), I choose to have faith that all things will get better each minute, each hour, each day - it's inevitable! What do you think?

A very good article!

All true events. And much more...

Pictures are worth a mega contract in a developing a true live story that un-folds. In addition, we all miss alot by not studying. We can prosper in life and destruction in the networks and pofessional introductions.

The network of the government stimulas checks by all of us to help one-one another in a time of need and crisis. A message of hope, peace and inspiration. What if....started and will help to understand these events and more. Who will be called upon to help...and why?

We love the article!...wisdom and to help your fellow persons. To be sharp in our professional networks. What is an introduction to change the path of destruction to a path of true events. What if.... and why would this take place? And in this time period? How did our society go backwards? Why?

Interesting...

Mr. Trump:

Your analogies and philosophical perspective is quite fascinating and well taken. We all can benefit.

Successful individual’s ability to control their attitude is everything while being an expert in our respective field(s) is a requirement. This allows optimal adjustment and adaptation to a particular set of circumstances. True leaders emerge during rough and unpredictable times.

If those reading take your post literally, opportunities are always developing if needs can be met. Keep pushing ahead and never look back. Successful entrepreneurs are always making chicken salad out of chicken ****.

It seems, to me, that the crisis is more of a discussion topic, and news air time around the world, and many people complain for not having money because of it.

To me, we should focus more on how to use what we have, which in most cases, in my eyes, is time; and, do more than we usually do in terms of efficiency.

This way, instead of consuming time discussing about how terrible things are during ' the crisis ' we can all benefit from adding value to our time constructively.

I am very glad that DT is contributing to this blog! Our country is in such turmoil and the negative spin on the economy that the press continues to report every day is very revolting to me. The blame game accomplishes zero! We must move forward.. Yes, we have seen bettter financial times but DT is completely right, be grateful for what you have!

I take comfort in knowing that you have been through some rough times and thankfully managed to turn your financial situation around. Good people eventually attract the people and things they need to continue.
Some people just give up.
It is courage that tests the skills of every human life.
It is faith that allows us to believe our condition will change.
It is Nature that reminds us that the Seasons change without any help from humans.
It is sad to think there are still humans that choose to inflict pain and suffering when there is so many ways they can use their energy to "build-up" rather than destroy the good work of people who came before us, who are here with us now and are creating a better environment for future generations.

Power and greed have always been an unfortunate "disease" that doctors have never learned how to cure.
Maybe, some day?

I am sending this information to my 30 year old son. He needs a real mentor. He's intelligent, has had managerial positions-and succeeded quite well. But, he has experienced the crashing of our economy also. I hope Mr. Trumps wise economic tips will help move him along. He has got a lot to offer. Thank you Mr. Trump!

Mr. Trump,
Why did I wait so long to find your blog and read you. Your survival tips have hit where it needed to hit. Thank you! I'm teary eyed right now as I found myself relating to every single tips you worded. I'm happy to see your show back on TV as it always brings invaluable insights.

I have been hit hard with this economy and have been struggling for 2 years trying to stay afloat and finally had to file bankruptcy. My boyfriend (just like you) has to go work overseas as the U.S. has become a land of unemployment or minimum wage opportunities. (Why can't we stop outsourcing and rebuild all of these business here here?)

I personally cannot find my groove either as a victim of the real estate force. So with enterpreneurship blood in me, I want to re-invent and continue being my own boss. But I'm struggling. I had to tear up at your line "Fear is the opposite of Faith". How right you are. Thank you for shedding some light. You don't know how much light I need lately!

I have thought of you repeatedly during these rough months and try to focus on the kind of resilience that you have.

Thank you for being who you are.

5 bailouts in the span of 10 years to soften the impact of tsunami in u.s. Economy is what i am suggesting.. I see nature is the greatest impact, second is conflict between individuals. "you carry us away like a flood; we last no longer than a dream. We are like weeds that sprout in the morning, that grow and burst into bloom, then dry up and die in the evening. Teach us how short our life is, so that we become wise."

Dear Mr. Trump,

Thank you for having the staff carefully read all the comments. I am sure that they are all tremendous individuals. Thank you for the Saturday posting, (although I am just now noticing it on Monday evening.) And thank you for following through with leadership, on our toughest current challenge- the economy. These and other steps you have taken recently are what I was refering to when I pleaded to you for bilionaires like yourself to save the millionaires from each other - - - [dog eat dog, etc.]

Respectfully Yours, Sir

The most important action one can take in order to survice this storm is to have an economic "plan b".

On March 22nd, Mr. Trump will feature the best opportunity to suppliment your income by endorsing ACN.

Donald Trump is an inspiration and his words hold so much truth. In South Africa, although the economic crisis has not hit us as hard as the rest of the world, I find that people are being sucked down on a negative spiral. As a publisher of magazines, I find that ad spend has been cut "because of the economic crises". A think this is a weak excuse as South Africa's economy should be thriving.I could choose to shut down my publications as many are doing, but I choose to persevere and make it work. I believe that what we all need to do now is to think positively. We need to be grateful for what we have and stop focussing on lack.

I am an avid watcher of The Apprentice and although doing business in South Africa is very very different and sometimes confidence is seen as arrogance, we can all learn a lot from the program.

Great how I feel like I'm already doing so many of your descibed tips. It's really great that a person like you that has so much credability goes out and say these things. I say it to, but I'm not world-known Mr Trump. But, none the less, I say it.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks very much Mr. Trump. You have really discovered your purpose on this planet. You inspire and thank God for you life. We in Africa are looking up to the advanced countries. We pray these hard times dont stay for a long time but if they do, I will count myself blessed to have met Trump University. These tips will be recorded in my success journal and i will share it with friends.
Yes! we will surely deal with the current recession.

Mr Trump.....I like what you said about counting one's blessings. I'm in Africa, and I count my blessings everyday. The fact that I grew up with very little has shaped me to be able to deal with hard times. Many people affected by this economic crisis shouldn't really be cracking as much as they are if they had learned to deal with pressure from an early age.

Speaking as someone who has had the great fortune of meeting Donald Trump twice..I can testify to the fact that he is one of the "realest" and most down to earth men I have ever met.

It's funny... cause I'm looking at this blog.. and realizing that it was written just before he came from his room... to a lil get together/party he was having at his Mar-A-Lago estate in WPB.

I was lead singer in the band he hired... and got to meet him again... and his family... Barron, his son, has gotta be the smartest kids I've ever seen... a testament to him and what he expects from you... greatness... and you deliver that to him... not because he's "Donald Trump"... but because you can tell he has faith that you can do what needs to be done... so you do it.. for you. :)

I have seen his genorsity first hand.. all the chartiy work he does.... and the empowerment he gives you to be the best you... you can be.... I'll ALWAYS have his back.... anytime... anywhere.

What more can really be said, the name " Trump " stands alone, because it is an " Icon " in everything , Entertainment, Development , Sports with the World Class Golf Course / Country Clubs, Everything is always First Class and what other way should things be, First Class all the time, never settle for second, and I feel that all that is done and handle by the Trump Organization says that loud and clear. What ever it takes to get " the job " or project done is what is key and in todays ever changing world and society, Trump has always made to the top and I applaud that greatly. I , in my own personal business matters hold that same philosphy close to me, with that mind set, I do feel it seperates the ones that want to succeed and those that was to " try to succeed " it is not about settling , it is about accomplishing. With todays markets you need to get out there and in a big way, always keep the doors open, the options at hand and network , you never know what the other person knows unless you listen, many ideas and options that do not appeal to one person can be beneficial to another, if they are able to put the right " spin " on the idea and take it to the right direction.

If you look at the comments on this blog from about june last year (08), its clear that we knew no more then than we probably know now about just how serious our problems on this planet are. Surely it is time for a complete overhaul, time for inclusive economics which dont see the 3rd world as a charity case, but as an undeveloped community and market place. Lets take this opportunity to radically improve the quality of life on this planet. (Maybe spending less on looking for other ones just for a start)

This looks it was written years ago, by a motivational speaker... none of this really give you any idea what do actually do, other than watching the news in the case of volatile times -- then what, Donny? buy? sell?
Doesn't help me a bit and my guess is you don't know either.
