Larry King Live and Direct

I visited Larry King Live on Wednesday night and we had a great visit, covering many topics. We talked about my new book Think Like a Champion, which also covers a wide variety of topics, from Obama, to Madoff, to pirates and prescience. To be a champion, as I told Larry, knowledge is important, and this book provides a solid step in that direction.

Here are a few highlights from our interview:

  • On real estate: I mentioned that this is a great time to buy real estate. However, banks are not doing their job. They’re not providing financing for deals. If the seller won’t give you financing, my advice is not to do it.

  • On taxes:  We have to pay taxes, but we want to pay a reasonable tax. We don’t want to see the money squandered--and money in this country is being squandered.

  • On Iraq:  The war in Iraq is unreasonable. There’s $1 trillion right there. And, more importantly, hundreds of thousands of people--both on our side and the other side--have been killed and maimed and badly hurt. I think it’s just a shame. It’s unreasonable. And by the way, Saddam Hussein did not knock down the World Trade Center.

  • On Obama:  He’s a champion. He won against all odds. When he first announced his decision to run for President, people were giving him virtually no chance. And he’s done something that is amazing.

  • On fear in this economic situation: Fear is realistic, people are afraid. They’re losing their jobs, and their homes. There is nothing wrong with being fearful, but you have to do something about it. And that’s what I write about in the book.

This is the best time to be a champion. In fact, it may be what is required. Let’s give it our best shot.

Mr. Trump,

I looked that interview up on the internet. It was worth watching. You made some very valid points. While you didn't go into detail here, I support your approach to dealing with Pirates too. One thing that struck me though, while now is a time for champions, isn't every time a time for them? I think we need more than just champions now. I think we need competent, ethical, innovative leaders, and people with vision to come together to find solutions, we also need the American people to pull together and work together to help each other and bring about the necessary changes to make the corrections to our economy and technology, business, medicine, and social issues.

Dear Mr. Trump,

I saw that interview while channel surfing. But in your blog, you left out the part where you said that OPEC will probably try to sabotage the Global Recovery being planned internationally. And also in the interview there was no mention of the impending inflation that all of this deficit spending will no doubt bring. My question to you Sir is: Will OPEC even have to do anything to hijack oil customers or haven't we already done that ourselves with the three-plus Trillion Dollar Budget?

Don't get me wrong about Obama, I am a big fan and think he is doing the best he can with what he has to work with in the form of Politicians for Colleagues. I just wish we weren't in uncharted waters for the sake of the young people in the World.

Sincerely Yours,
J. Glen Dale

I think this new book looks good. I also really liked the Think Big book, not because it talked about unrealistic dreams but because it talked about the reality of going through the ups and downs of life.

Mr. Trump,
I just happened to buy that book today. I started reading it and could not put it down. It is one of the finest books I have ever read. It is blunt, frank, to the point, and concise, yet offers an abundance of information. I have almost finished it and have marked it up considerably to go back and re- read it.

Congratulations on writing a great book.

Mr Trump.

That interview is pretty interesting, I like your ideas from rea estate. This is the best time to buy but banks are no helping at all.

and Obama, well, he just keep me amaze everytime he wants to do something, he is breaking all the ideas we had.

Well, I agree on all points.

But, as you were, I was also surprised that Larry King would go into madoff's trap. I mean, he is a champion. But that just proves that money is something important and it's just as important that you know where you are putting it. Just exchanging a few words with someone doesn't mean that you know them. Sometimes there is something really unshiny behind the shiny facade.

And I spell it madoff because people that do not have my respect gets no capital letters.

The way to secure success is to be more anxious about obtaining than about deserving it.
