On Wednesday morning I was on CNN to talk about President Obama’s first 100 days in office. I was quoted from my new book, Think Like a Champion, where I mention that Obama “will need to be a great president because we’re in serious trouble as a country. It hasn’t been this way since 1929. So he doesn’t have much choice--he will simply have to be great, which he has a very good chance of being.”
I was asked if he had lived up to the challenge. I said that he is working very very hard on many many fronts--it would be nice if he could focus on one but he wasn’t really given that option. The option he was given is that the world no longer respects us like they did ten or fifteen years ago, but he’s building bridges, he’s building them back. Certainly the economy is a problem, and terrorism. He inherited a real mess.
It’s become a world of specialization, it’s very complex, and the level of problems that the world has today is unprecedented. We’re not in a great stage right now in and the problems he’s dealing with--from health care to pirates--is formidable. I gave him an overall grade of at least a B+ and I think he’s lived up to his challenges in a big way. As the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown told him, “You’ve changed America’s relationship with the world.”

So, to say that all that world traveling from President Obama is paying off for free trade, economic growth is not known yet. He is not a free trade world leader. Although, he represents the USA we dont believe President Obama is going to be a leader of nations with it's economic growth or it's prosperity.
Is President Obama independent enough or strong enough with the leading nations of our allies...its not known yet. Talk is cheap...and we need a world leader in freedom.
And he may or may not fix our nation's troubles during this debate. He still needs to fix welfare and other down-sizing issues in government that helped create an economic down-turn and mess. All the same issues as he was as when he was a Senator .
A side note- He really rambles on with his questions and answers. Short and get to a point-quickly is a world leader.
He is not a strong will leader with our allies..yet. Not sure if we would say a world leader...a lot of people looking at his issues and leadership.style. 100 days in office...
I agree with you for his rateing but great challanges are to be faced he need to rebuilt Americans image infront of the world as here in my country Pakistan American are treated as the enemy of our independence
On January 20th 2001 America was surging up, we had a strong foothold on the global level and commanded great respect from our greatest allies. The moral decay predicted under Clinton had never come to fruition, Americans continued living like they always had. Our economy was strong, strong enough to survive the, ".com burst" around the corner. For the most part America was at peace, high school kids considered joining the military to help pay for college figuring they'd never see actual combat.
Flash to January 20th 2009... The downward spiral many knew was taking place was exposed only a few months earlier. Among our allies we are losing respect and our once strong foothold has all but slipped away completely. Shockingly, teen pregnancy has risen with a former President who was sure abstinence is the answer. Americans realize that we might be losing, "The Dream". The economy is moments away from burst, it is on its last legs. Our military is overstressed, many great soldiers have served this country honorable more than it reasonable to ask of them. Many soldiers have paid the ultimate sacrifice standing up for the American way of life.
What happened? Why was Obama given this mess? Frankly I wish you could step in Mr. Trump. I believe Obama has what it takes but America needs all the help it can get. All the damage done can be fixed we just have to stop the downward spiral. I believe in the first 100 days Obama has showed us that there are solutions to the problems he has been handed.
We can and will fix these problems. We are Americans.
1. we have babies that need a good home
2. we have people starving
If we don't care or respect are own citizens why should other countries? I'm all for helping others but, when do we focus on our problems? sorry if I went a little off the topic.
He is a good speaker to be sure, but going in massive debt and bailing out companies left the Japanese with zombie companies and their economy still suffers from trying to rescue what should have been losses so rebuilding could take place from a sound place. Gold continues to go up, as a sign many see the diminishing value of the dollar, and there's a good chance "we ain't seen nothing yet.
If any here have read Ayn Rand's classic, Atlas Shrugged written decades ago, it a book that's turning out to be prophetic as government, under the intention of solving crisis, continues to expand and eventually implodes on itself under it's own weight.
The USSR was an example of it, and from many perspectives, the US is headed the same way. We've drifted far from the limited-government model of our forefathers, and we're not going to get it back unless enough people speak out. Obama means well, but his solutions go in the wrong direction.
I have friends on both sides of this issue, and it doesn't need to create animosity. At the same time, neither is it the place for silence for those that would like to see an America unburdened by high taxes and ever-increasing government programs that feed off the pockets and power of it's citizenry.
Also, instead of people seeking an economic stimulus program, at least for the unemployed, it might be a better idea to learn some new skills and create income without a job. The internet, for one, calls, and places us 3-feet in front of the world. http://leavethejobbehind.com
Obama is great, but I am very confuse about that swine flu thing. You can find more info here:

It's been a long while since I have visited! I've been too caught up on this recession to pay my friends visits. Plus, I was focusing on my main blog, Divorce Saloon, and I stopped working on my business blog that has a direct link to yours. Yesterday I put my main blog on hiatus (the way they do on TV shows) so that I can focus on some of the others a little bit. (Too many blogs, [about 9] Mr. Trump, and unlike the typical woman, I cannot multi-task!)
Anyhoo, your observations about President Obama are spot on. Not bad for the Junior senator from Illonois so far. He did inherit a real mess and he has hit the ground running. He has youth on his side. This many challenges would have killed an older man, I think. I personally would have given him at least an A- so far. Good Job, Mr. President!
Mr. Trump, how does a mess of such epci proportions get created in the first place, I wonder? What do you think happened? Can we really fairly blame all of this on former president Bush? Or was this global mess decades in the making? I just wonder...and how long before it gets cleaned up, do you think?

PS I haven't been watching TV but I heard Joan quit??? You must have all over her like a bad suit!!!
This is an issue that must be dealed with sensitive and carefully. In my opinion The President of USA is a great person and you must remember that he is also a human being. He is kind of incarnation of the USA. How he acts and behaves have effects to the whole world and to the way the people think about the USA. He has a lot on his shoulders.
He must have the best counsellors and public servants with him in the White House so he can do the best decisions. The people around him must be reliable, hard working and which is important they must be highly educated! His First 100 days have been becoming acquainted to his job being a great leader in all circumstances.
IF THIIS IS HIS STANCE.WHAT ABOUT CAP AND TRADE.THE NEXT FIVE GENERATIONS OF AMERICANS WILL BE PAYING FOR HIS STIMULUS/WELFARE PACKAGE.ONE MORE BONE OF CONTENTION IS ,WHO CARES IF HE'S THE FIRST MIXED PRESIDENT AND YES I SAID MIXED.HIS MOTHERS FAMILY RAISED HIM WHERE IS HIS FATHER I WONDER?THIS MEDIA LOV AFFAIR NEEDS TO END.GRADE =C-
People who are willing to serve our country in any capacity deserve our respect and support, especially when that capacity is so demanding. Talk about a sharp learning curve, I believe the position of President has to be the biggest stretch a person can make and it comes without the benefit of a year-long apprentice program, but what an awesome responsibility. I can't imagine anybody choosing to be President without having a need to rise to greatness within.
Life never comes at us one nice neat little issue at a time, but, I am sure President Obama understands the value of recruiting professionally qualified people of passion to focus all of their attention on individual issues, in ways he can't under the circumstances, and fortunately, the mastermind affect is much greater than just one man. He will have to utilize the art of appointing and hiring good people and effective delegation.
What always amazes me is how much attention is focused on the Commander-in-Chief, and how often the other branches of government are overlooked - how do you feel they did in the first 100 days of the President's term? How about the American citizens and industry? Of course our President's effectiveness isn't just based on his performance. It is also influenced by his acceptance, and I agree with you, President Obama appears to be doing very well on the international front. He is also working hard to communicate with America.
While these times are full of challenges, they make some very interesting study, and it will be a enlightening to see how things unfold under our President's leadership.
P.S.
IF IT COMES OUT THAT OBAMA IS NOT A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN,EVERY BILL OR ACT HE IMPLEMENTS AS PRESIDENT[?] WILL BECOME NULL AND VOID.
The only real judge of character is no ****her than the nearest mirror. The entire country can be for or against his decisions but ultimately he has to rest within himself. If he is sleeping well, staying healthy, and being true to himself, he will eventually show his true ability as the leader of our country.
Many teachers have given high praises and grades to students who didn't deserve them. Some athletes with great potential failed math and science but stayed true to their passion and became great team players.
Only time will tell if he is really the man for this job. 100 days in office is not enough time to measure the impact of his administration's decisions. I would give him an Incomplete.
Why?
As an architect and a reasonable human being, I look at facts.
Spell that out: F-A-C-T-S. Hard F-A-C-T-S.
So what are they?
The Economy:
Naturally speaking, in the normal 5-7 year up and down cycle of real estate, the crash was going to happen. At the end of the 90's with the excesses in the computer industry excessively overheating real estate prices, coupled with real estate appraisers asking bankers how much they wanted a property appraised for - a felony - well, the crash was going to happen. I told clients this in the early to mid-2000's and I was right.
Who the President is:
Barry Soetoro (sp?) AKA "Obama" now - don't blame me, that's what HE called himself to get a Fullbright scholarship to Occidental - said he was a citizen of another country to get a Fullbright scholarshp, for those who don't know - required to be a Fullbright scholar, in fact - and said he was an Indonesian Citizen at the time. That just came out a month ago when private citizens did what so-called "journalists" didn't do during the campaign and previously - their job. They sued and got records from Occidental. (Not to mention Departments of Elections.....or the Democratic Party....not doing their jobs, either.)
And to be an Indonesian citizen at that time, according to clients of mine who are Indonesian - you had to renounce your citizenship of any other countries to attend schools there. And what's with his relatives saying he was born in two hospitals in Hawaii, one of which was not in existence at the time, and another present at his birth in Kenya? What's up with that?
If 1+1 don't equal 2, something is wrong. Facts aren't slippery. It's called "fraud."
And in this case, if one fraud is OK, what's another?
So why the emphasis from President Barry S. aka "Obama" and the Democratic Congress on using Public Works Construction Contracts to get money back into the economy - one of the slowest ways possible?
Such was known for historically exacerbating the Great Depression. It is well known historically that tax breaks get economies moving quickly.
As an architect (with an MBA in Real Estate) who at one point worked in a huge University's Facilities Dept., I know fully well why he chose the slowest method possible to get the economy "rolling" again.
I uncovered a huge scam of the taxpayer dollar, whose investigations into them were stopped repeatedly in California by Democrats.
That's right - Democrats. Shocked the heck out of me.
Turns out they were getting fed out of huge construction contracts illegally sole-sourced, using kickbacks to facilities guys and school board members. WABC TV in New York finally reported it when 11 Mayors, City Councilmen and School baord Members were caught doing so in Sept. 2007 in New Jersey.
How do I know?
When I reported kickbacks for illegally sole sourced construction products to the feds, the persons stopping those investigations were Democrats, including the California State Attorney General, while Republicans repeatedly attempted to get the Calfiornia State Auditor to look into it. Problem was, the Democrats were in charge of what the State Auditor could look into. In every arena....except the Feds....
Which brings one to the inevitable conclusion.
Huge (over) expenditures in Public Works Construction Contracting is funding the Democrats.
Now there's the real reason why President Barry S. aka "Obama" is exacerbating the economy's downturn.
It also allows for takeover of the private sector - and your ability to do business in the future.
I traveled behind the Iron Curtain when it was, and trust me, you don't want that - or socialized medicine either. Just ask my pediatrician sister-in-law in Germany...about all those lines.
I give him a huge, big fat F.
I also think he is not doing the right thing with auto companies. Yes he is right, they must get their house in order, but he should not let these companies leave the public sector. If they must, reorganize in chapter11 and re issue stock. Take the money to compensate the bond holders and pay the government back. We all know the auto workers are not going to get squeezed hard here. Obama’s is going to protect them. That will be the death of our auto industry.
A great present worries about the good not the paybacks. This I believe will either make President Obama great or just another manipulative politician. It also is what one sees as the right thing and who it is right for.
What bothers me personally, with regard to the bailouts, is that a lot of companies going under, are doing so for good reason. In a strong economy, everyone, including flawed companies will not be doing too badly. That doesn't mean that those flawed companies really benefit things even when the economy is good. Let's take the example of our automakers... union problems and other issues aside... why can't they actually build really good cars? In a mass-production environment, people working do not hugely affect the quality of what is turned out... its the design that matters.
Let's say, you know that BMW pretty much always does a better job than your company in certain areas... why not, for example, make them a good offer and buy the technology from them that allows them to be better? Its not like US companies were really all that short on funds(in the past).
If they don't have the right attitude, required to solve problems and bring them success, then giving them money won't do much more than postpone their fall... in which case they will never create profits that they need to contribute to the eventual recovery of the US.
This is not to say that these companies should not be saved. Their existing facilities constitute an investment and perhaps with some help the opportunity to make a lot of money, but seriously - it's the way these companies do business that needs to change.
Having worked with large companies, I'm often just shocked at the thoughtless way in which some of them do business.
Credit Default Swaps are what drained the banks. The banks wrote CDSs for their cronies. The banks acted as insurance companies. A CDS is, in substance, an insurance policy. The buyer of the CDS pays premiums to the seller, in exchange for the seller's promise to pay the buyer the full value of a specified security (usually a bundle of mortgages) in case the security defaults.
The real estate market was obviously in a bubble condition. Everyone KNEW the market was going to collapse! The thing is, the banks wrote CDSs to more than just the owners of the specified securities. They also sold CDSs to others, who were betting on the fact that the market will collapse. The banks insured 25 trillion dollars worth of mortgages for 45 trillion dollars! And kept no reserves to pay ANY of these obligations!
All the bailout is doing is paying the buyers of these CDSs trillions of taxpayer dollars to fulfill promises that should have never been made! The government is handing trillions of tax dollars to billionaire cronies of the banks who wrote the CDSs!
I don't hate billionaires. I am all FOR someone who earns billions by creating wealth through honest business. I wish to do that myself! I hate people who grab their billions through fraud or theft.
What should have been done is go ahead and let the banks fail, then bail out the depositors. They would then deposit their money in banks that survived - banks that are honest and competent!
Obama deserves a solid F!!! Here's what SHOULD be done:
1. Invest in domestic energy production. Algae oil is very promising. Half of New Mexico could supply ALL of America's fuel! (For about $3 a gallon.) With NO environmental damage! And no loss of food production! Put price supports on petroleum to make sure the Arabs don't undercut this new industry with cheap oil. This way, we stop giving 700 billion dollars a year to people who hate us! That 700 billion dollars a year goes to AMERICAN jobs!
2. Establish the Fair Tax. (www.fairtax.org) Tax CONSUMPTION! Not production! That would stop letting foreign goods in here tax free, while American producers pay the second highest tax rate in the world! The Fair Tax would tax foreign goods just as much as U.S. made goods!
3. Put tariffs on goods made in countries with oppressive regimes. Stop making U.S. workers compete with slave labor! Buying goods from police states does NOT help the oppressed people! It only strengthens the regime!
4. Stop fantasizing about making peace with jihad fanatics. Those people live to kill! Obama's rhetoric only gives them hope that their cause can win! We need a George Patton who will consistently demonstrate to them that their cause IS lost, that if they keep fighting, they'll only be giving their lives for a lost cause. Japan gave up in 1945 because we SHOWED them that we WILL kill every last one of them if we have to! By doing that, we relieved ourselves from having to kill any more of them! Obama's rhetoric only prolongs the war and increases the number of people who will be killed.
THAT'S what leadership would look like, if we had any! Anyone who won't at least do the above four items doesn't deserve even ONE vote! Obama's "leadership" is taking us in a very clear direction: he's going to make the whole USA look like the South Bronx!
