Donald Trump Books for Summer Reading

A A A

Recently, I was asked to recommend a summer reading list from my own books. Over the years I’ve written a lot of business books and even one on golf. Why do I write? I’m a bit of a teacher by nature and I feel writing allows me to organize my thoughts and experiences in a way that I can provide lessons of wealth building wisdom in an easily accessible format. It is my sincere desire to help you by sharing my own experiences and life lessons and I hope you’ll take some time this summer to catch up on your reading.

What are your favorite books? Why?

Blog Image The Art of the Deal
My first book, which came out in 1987, is considered a business classic. Details of my early life, my family background and early career are described, as well as my first big deals in Manhattan.

Blog ImageThe Art of the Comeback
This book was published in 1997 and deals with how I negotiated my way out of the big real estate fizzle in the early 1990’s along with moving forward with new ideas and businesses.

Blog ImageThe America We Deserve

I wrote this book in 2000 and it addresses issues pertinent to the success of this nation.

Blog ImageThe Best Real Estate Advice I Ever Received
This is a compilation of submissions from a wide gamut of real estate experts, a small and concise guide with some excellent advice. It was published in 2006.

Blog ImageTrump 101: The Way to Success
Trump 101 is an excellent guide for both students and professionals on how to make your way to success. Coach Trump gives you pointers in each chapter.

Blog ImageWhy We Want You to Be Rich
Robert Kiyosaki and I teamed up in 2006 to write about our concerns regarding financial literacy. It appears we were right about quite a few things, and this book is still pertinent and helpful.

Blog ImageThink Like a Champion
My latest book, which came out in April 2009, covers a wide variety of topics ranging from success tips to thoughts about Obama, Stephen King and Bernie Madoff. It’s an informal education in business and life that is entertaining as well as easily accessible--a good summer read.

Donald J. Trump is Chairman of Trump University.

Mr. Trump,

I have purchased all these books, and I am in the process of reading them and many others you also wrote. These are all great books, and you have much to share, but they are all books you wrote. What other books are you reading now? What books by other authors would you recommend? Have you considered adding a recommended reading list?

I am happy to see our library finally has three of your titles in the card catalog. Of course the best marketing is the buzz from word of mouth.

"The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it." ~James Bryce

So what other books would you recommend, and what book projects are you working on presently?

Hello Mr.Trump, I am a Chinese young girl who just came to the real business world. To be honest, I didn't know you until I watched your TV show "the apprentice", which I have been watching it from the internet every night recently. I learned much from your show and wrote down every suggestion you mentioned in each epsiode. Then I found this website and read about your blog. Your humourous sense and wittiness on your articles aroused my interesting to buy your book. I definitely will buy "Trump 101: The Way to Success" and "Think Like a Champion", as I want to move up and be successful sometime in future. Thanks very much for you great advice on either TV shows/Books/Blog. You are such a successful person.

I really liked the book Think Big & Kick Ass...it definitely made me think differently about a lot of things. Also Mr. Trump, are you familiar with a company called Better World Books, which also has an affiliate program and carries many of the books you've described and does lots of literacy work and book recycling? Thanks for sharing your booklist with us and reminding us to be the best we can be, and to "NEVER EVER GIVE UP"!

The Art of the Comeback, Think Big And Kick Ass, Why We Want You To Be Rich, The Way To The Top, How To Get Rich, Think Like Like Billionaire, these are the ones I've read so far and recommend them all. I don't just read them - I've always been a student - I've read each multiple times AND have taken pages and pages of notes. AND I review the notes.

I'm 63, at the age of 50 I put a sign on my desk: Life Begins at Fifty. I did it again at sixty. I plan to do it again four times. Like Donald says: if you're going to think anyway you might as well think big. AND long term.

I made a career change a couple years ago when I realized I loved my new company and what I was doing, what it was doing, and because of that could become a rich and wealthy man. I credit much of my thinking and confidence building over the past three years to what Donald Trump has accomplished and written.

I think we are worlds apart personality wise but on the same page when it comes to what it means to have a take charge success oriented mentality. AND you never ever ever ever let anything or anyone take you down and keep you down.

A lot of these books are inspired and very educational! "The America We Deserve" is a good resource book and we loved your first book: "The Art of The Deal."

Thank you....Trump 101 and it's inspirational path.

I admire the author for being generous to share his thoughts and learning’s to other people. His great business ideas certainly influence those neophyte entrepreneurs. Especially those who don’t have a broad idea of what it takes to be in business. For people who ask themselves, "is my rent too high?" including tenants and landlords, rejoice – there is Rentometer. Rentometer is a service that averages out market prices for rentals according to criteria such as square footage, amenities, number of bed and bathrooms, location, etc, which is a handy tool for landlords wondering if they are over or undercharging for rent. Some critics complain that it creates the potential for landlords to set price floors, even during the most volatile housing market in living memory.

To you Donald: The Mastermind of Monumental Monetary Upward Momentum.

You and your family shall continue to flourish in health, happiness, love and success.

It shows great time management that you can write so many outstanding books and at the same time manage so many thriving businesses. The world saving block-buster book We are writing is taking up the majority of Our time. But We love the research, the writing and the eventual prosperous outcome for the planet. Our favorite book of yours is The Art Of The Deal because it showed Us Our first in-depth insight into the greatness of your mother and father.

And what also captured Our attention was that you revealed your honest and tough, no holds barred, take no prisoners, damn the torpedoes - full speed ahead, business personality that you have since so brilliantly shown on your enormously successful show "The Apprentice" and in publicized confrontational matters. It’s the only way to swim with the sharks and not get bitten. It is Our professional and personal opinion that your daughter, Ivanka Marie Trump, is the most intelligent, beautiful, self-assured and graceful judge on any reality show. Keep up the good work. And keep on writing.

Sincerely, Your friend
Dr. Nimrod Erech M. Christ Nimrod

They are all ultra-favorites, but THE ART OF THE DEAL and THINK BIG AND KICK ASS both surprised by their massive impact as to financial wisdom. The 15 question quiz is for me the summit of all the books.

I bought "Think Like a Champion" and enjoyed reading it and so I bought the audio version. Unfortunately, the audio book will not play properly on any of my computer media players, only on my CD player. I am not sure who processed the cd's. I returned it 4 times to 2 different Indigo stores and gave up. I still have the CD's and have transferred it to my mp3 player. I have tried the cd's on several computers, mine and my childrens', but are always choppy and defective. Someone should be told: "YOU'RE FIRED"!

Think like a Champion is GREAT!!! I read it a couple of weeks ago. Each chapter is concise, right to the point and I would say inspiring. An excellent read.

I thank you for sharing so much sage advice. Your writings are inspirational and help to keep me going. I wonder, though, what are your thoughts on never-publicly-addressed controversy over the whole issue of HIV and AIDS? There is an ever growing international group of intelligent and successful people with impeccable credentials who question the viral theory and raise very valid concerns. They are known as "Rethinkers." (Their detractors prefer to use a derogatory term "denialist." These people are being censored and vilified by the governmedical organizations that are profiteering what some call a medical blunder, some call the epitome of racketeering, and others say it is the hoax and crime of the century.

I am wondering how much someone like you knows about it and what are your thoughts? I'm sure we could benefit from your wisdom. This movement has been festering 25 years!

I have thinking many times too that it would be wonderfull if I could write a book or even few pages about something that I know and feel and to get others also to read that. I am thinking the issue. That must be something to do with business, your dreams, self-confidence, hard believe that your dreams can come true someday (one big dream has come already true, when I have been able to be here in The Trump University and write this article ! ). Maybe I write about this, being here in the Trump University, how I have got many golden advices and have the best mentor in the world! It could be one topic to my first book, if I can use it.

I got the Book Trump Art of Survival. what a book I could not put it down. I am so ashamed that I even Judged Trump as most do as a one demtional person. Trump and Kiyosaki are no nonsense men. I now have the utmost respect for Trump and what he has done. the year the Art of Survival was writen O just got out of High School and was on the road to messing up my life royal. I succeded in that now the last 15 yrs have made it better. I have learned more in only 5 months of reading Trumps and Kiyosaki's books than I even did in school.

Thank you Mr. Trump for being who you are and open with your life. I am so greatful for your heart to teach. I would not have the confidence I do today if it were not for YOU and GOD!!!!

Thanks

Shawn Thornton
