The following question was submitted to "Ask Donald Trump" by a Trump University member.

Question:
You have faced some really big challenges and some very difficult circumstances in your life. What activities, words of wisdom and other tools do you use to get yourself back up to remain positive? What advice would you offer to anyone struggling today?

My Response:
Your focus is very important--so be sure to focus on the opportunities, because they are always there. For example, if 90% of companies aren’t hiring, then focus on the 10% that are. I learned to focus less on the problem and more on the solution, which works. Do not allow negativity to cloud your goals or ambitions. Great things have been accomplished in hard and even tumultuous times.

When I faced difficult circumstances, I didn’t underestimate the problems but I refused to give in to them. Realize that you are very strong and very capable. Inspirational quotes help too. Here’s one from Emerson to think about when you might be doubting yourself: “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” I knew I was resilient and focused on the great things I would do once I got through the hard times. I would also ask myself, “Is this a blip or is it a catastrophe?” Earthquakes, wars, tsunamis--those are catastrophes. Put things into perspective and know that within you is the power to persevere and win.

Dear Trump

The approach to focus on solution not the problem is a very effective approach to become a winner
in a hard times .

The recent example is the Ex-President Clinton his one visit to North Korea has saved career & life of two American Journalists are on their way to home .

The Clinton way is also to focus on solution not the problem and think big and kick Ass

What a factual article. Thanks for the nice update. Keep it up! But aside from that breaking and sizzling report let me impart something new concern to you . It is important to find the right tool for the situation at hand, including when you need fast cash because of a financial bind. Maybe getting fast cash with a credit card, or a bank loan, can work for some, but most people don't have that kind of time, and that's where payday lenders fit in. There are all kinds of ways to describe a loan until payday – call them bad credit payday loans, cheap payday loans, instant payday loans, no fax payday loans, quick payday loans, same day payday loans, whatever. Since lenders are online, you can apply over the internet, and get easy online payday loans for your fast cash needs.

To you Trump. We like that strong name: "Trump!" And all the great innuendos that that name evokes, you have realized and surpassed. You have "Trumped" your detractors. No doubt your good father, Fred Trump, is very proud of you, as you no doubt are very proud of your amazing family. We wish you all the best.

In this second comment of Ours, We want to "focus" on the fact that August 4, 2009 is President Barack Obama’s birthday. Therefore:

President Barack Obama: "Happy birthday to you." May you and your charismatic family continue to rise to the occasion.

Sincerely, your friend

Thank you. This is pure gold. I try to look at the situation and ask myself will this matter in 100 years? In 10 years? in 10 months? in 10 days? in 10 minutes? I think the hardest part for me is finding the patience to allow time for things to be worked out.

I love T-shirts with positive messages, and one I found for my husband says "Attitudes are contagious - is yours worth catching?" Mr. Trump, your positive energy and enthusiasm is.

Most people like to complain about everything and all they see in their lives are problems. If you want to succeed you need to change your mindset and to accept everything around you as a challenge, instead of a problem. Mr. Trump said it best - focusing on the solution is the way to go.

I appreciate the inspiration. Our business has suffered a couple significant set financing set backs. At the same time, a new service line we have been developing is finally online. The initial results are very encouraging and are very cash rich. Not losing track of these can play a huge role in working through this situation as we may be able to generate substantial cash flow in the very near term.

We can sure use some works on when to give up and start fresh. Business history is full of people that followed their dreams only to die in failure. I want to play for the Yankees, but it will never happen. I recently wrote to salespeople about when and how to walk away from a deal or prospect in a Post at http://www.nationalsalescenter.com/ . At time, skill is more important than will. I'd like to see more work on this subject. Giving up and starting fresh may be the ticket to success when things aren't working. My issue is knowing when it's time to move on.

When I was looking for a job in these "worse" times, I always kept myself going because the only thing I felt bad about were if I would not be going.

And perhaps more that, I knew I did my best, then if I did not get the job, it must be something wrong with the applier and not me.

And also there is many external things beyond your control that affects if you will be hired or not.

So just keep moving forward. Because even if you feel that you are not the greatest, moving forward is the way to get there. Now damn it move out!

Peace

Thank you for this great learning lesson again! These are simple facts but they all carry you in natural way to the success in all part in your life. Allthough the first and the most important thing is to maintain a good health which is the basic that we all must have when we struggle our way to the better living possibilities.
Yes it is very important that in hard times you must trust to yourself! It is the basic. There are many people who are making things better than you or worse than you. But the great things are inside us and it is you only who knows what capabilities you have to improve and it is great when you have the chance to have the mentor who gives you good advices and who is encouraging you to use your good capabilities to get things made better and effectively.
That is also very good point to remember that .."Earthquakes, wars, tsunamis--those are catastrophes. Put things into perspective and know that within you is the power to persevere and win".

I couldn't agree more with the response of Mr. Trump in this submission.

In any circumstance opportunities abound. Most of the populace possess a focus that gravitates to barriers or mountainous obstacles. There are those who through life experience have learned how to see beyond the barriers to the solutions. Most successful businesses today are in the business of providing a solution to a problem.

It must also be said that many great visionaries are people who have walked through the pressure cooker of financial failure in one form or another, and have learned this most critical life lesson:

The average human being uses only 2-5 percent of their brain's true capability. No matter the past situation, as long as we still have a brain to use, we have a 95% unharvested treasure trove of resources upon which we can build our next success. We don't need money in the beginning to build a major success--we need an open mind.

(To you Trump the Titan:

This is my first comment. My second comment was posted, and this one was not. The same thing happened on your topic "Signs of Improvement." I accepted responsibility for that one. But for this comment I was extra focused and made sure I received the OK that this comment was received. It was received. So this time I ask your poster "what happened?" I did leave out the word "give" in the first sentence of this comment below, after the greeting. Is that the reason? If it is, thank you for not posting my error. Or was it the subject the matter? Inquiring minds want to know.)

To you Trump: the Focused Fighter.

May you continue to constantly focus on your fabulous family, and kindly [give] them my respect.

I totally agree with you on the need to focus on the proper things, and I concur with Emerson and his wise words about the winner within everyone.

Here is an addition I would like to add. It is 1st John 4:4 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world."

My other addition to people is to beware of organized and unorganized religion.

Sincerely, your friend and "Revolutionary Entrepreneur"

Very very true. Too many people focus on the negatives. There is always opportunity - we just have to open our eyes and look for it.

Great question & answer. I totally agreewith Mr. Trump, and might I add, if your going to focus on the solution, be sure to take action, not just think about it.
