The following question was submitted to "Ask Donald Trump" by a Trump University member.
Question:
You have faced some really big challenges and some very difficult circumstances in your life. What activities, words of wisdom and other tools do you use to get yourself back up to remain positive? What advice would you offer to anyone struggling today?
My Response:
Your focus is very important--so be sure to focus on the opportunities, because they are always there. For example, if 90% of companies aren’t hiring, then focus on the 10% that are. I learned to focus less on the problem and more on the solution, which works. Do not allow negativity to cloud your goals or ambitions. Great things have been accomplished in hard and even tumultuous times.
When I faced difficult circumstances, I didn’t underestimate the problems but I refused to give in to them. Realize that you are very strong and very capable. Inspirational quotes help too. Here’s one from Emerson to think about when you might be doubting yourself: “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” I knew I was resilient and focused on the great things I would do once I got through the hard times. I would also ask myself, “Is this a blip or is it a catastrophe?” Earthquakes, wars, tsunamis--those are catastrophes. Put things into perspective and know that within you is the power to persevere and win.

The approach to focus on solution not the problem is a very effective approach to become a winner
in a hard times .
The recent example is the Ex-President Clinton his one visit to North Korea has saved career & life of two American Journalists are on their way to home .
The Clinton way is also to focus on solution not the problem and think big and kick Ass
In this second comment of Ours, We want to "focus" on the fact that August 4, 2009 is President Barack Obama’s birthday. Therefore:
President Barack Obama: "Happy birthday to you." May you and your charismatic family continue to rise to the occasion.

I love T-shirts with positive messages, and one I found for my husband says "Attitudes are contagious - is yours worth catching?" Mr. Trump, your positive energy and enthusiasm is.

And perhaps more that, I knew I did my best, then if I did not get the job, it must be something wrong with the applier and not me.
And also there is many external things beyond your control that affects if you will be hired or not.
So just keep moving forward. Because even if you feel that you are not the greatest, moving forward is the way to get there. Now damn it move out!
Peace
Yes it is very important that in hard times you must trust to yourself! It is the basic. There are many people who are making things better than you or worse than you. But the great things are inside us and it is you only who knows what capabilities you have to improve and it is great when you have the chance to have the mentor who gives you good advices and who is encouraging you to use your good capabilities to get things made better and effectively.
That is also very good point to remember that .."Earthquakes, wars, tsunamis--those are catastrophes. Put things into perspective and know that within you is the power to persevere and win".
In any circumstance opportunities abound. Most of the populace possess a focus that gravitates to barriers or mountainous obstacles. There are those who through life experience have learned how to see beyond the barriers to the solutions. Most successful businesses today are in the business of providing a solution to a problem.
It must also be said that many great visionaries are people who have walked through the pressure cooker of financial failure in one form or another, and have learned this most critical life lesson:
The average human being uses only 2-5 percent of their brain's true capability. No matter the past situation, as long as we still have a brain to use, we have a 95% unharvested treasure trove of resources upon which we can build our next success. We don't need money in the beginning to build a major success--we need an open mind.

This is my first comment. My second comment was posted, and this one was not. The same thing happened on your topic "Signs of Improvement." I accepted responsibility for that one. But for this comment I was extra focused and made sure I received the OK that this comment was received. It was received. So this time I ask your poster "what happened?" I did leave out the word "give" in the first sentence of this comment below, after the greeting. Is that the reason? If it is, thank you for not posting my error. Or was it the subject the matter? Inquiring minds want to know.)
To you Trump: the Focused Fighter.
May you continue to constantly focus on your fabulous family, and kindly [give] them my respect.
I totally agree with you on the need to focus on the proper things, and I concur with Emerson and his wise words about the winner within everyone.
Here is an addition I would like to add. It is 1st John 4:4 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world."
My other addition to people is to beware of organized and unorganized religion.
Sincerely, your friend and "Revolutionary Entrepreneur"
