A Lesson In Resilience

With so much being said about how bad things are, I’ve decided we need to accentuate the positive. There are always positives, and one reason I’ve remained resilient is because I choose to see the bright side of situations. People who know me and work with me know that my persona of optimism isn’t a façade--it’s for real.

I want to emphasize how valuable that approach is if you intend to be successful. Your attitude is also your altitude--and the higher your frequency, the greater your results will be. That doesn’t mean it will happen overnight.

Blog ImageAs you might know by now, I like to read about the greats in history and one of my favorites is Abraham Lincoln. Look at this list of his endeavors, all of which led him to becoming President and one of the great men in history:

In 1831, he failed in business. He ran for the Illinois General Assembly the following year. He was defeated, so he started another business and failed. In 1834, he was elected to the state legislature, but in 1836 he suffered a nervous breakdown after his sweetheart died. In 1838, 1840, and 1843 respectively, he ran for speaker of the state legislature, elector and Congress, and he was defeated each time.

In 1846, he was elected to Congress, but when he ran for Congress again in 1848, he was defeated. He ran for Senate in 1855 and was defeated, and the next year he sought the vice-presidential nomination and was defeated, receiving less than 100 votes. But here was a man who refused to give up. In 1860 he ran for President--and won.

Lincoln was obviously well acquainted with adversity but he just kept at it. He remained resilient. Let’s learn from his example and keep our focus and our goals intact.

"Never give up" is the right attitude in almost any situation, however it's easier said than done. Thanks for reminding us this, Mr. Trump!

It's a very interesting thing that, resilience. It requieres a very set belief which results in that kind of determination. Knowing who you are and what you're going to fight for. And at the same time backing it up with some common sence.

Major setbacks. Ah, Mr. Trump, the fall doesn't hurt nearly so much as the landing, but the one comfort there is you have only one direction in which to move, so anything is better than just staying down and groveling in the mud. It is just that sometimes, you hit hard enough that you are overwhelmed with pain, and it knocks the breath out of you, and then, you become disoriented - you've lost your focus. Suddenly, the whole point of your existence is scrambled, and you have to figure out what really matters now and why. Nobody is immune to life changing events. It is just some people, through chance, aren't exposed. What I have found is these experiences also provided opportunities to grow, to build character, to make us wise, and to branch out in ways we never would have without the pain, but we still have to grieve, and to heal.

You are right, it is the ability to feel grateful for what is left, and the ability to envision what can be, and the optimistic hope we hold for the future that ultimately pulls us through, and it isn't failure until you just give up. It is a learning opportunity.

I think it is important to keep in mind we each hold the power to touch others lives also, and when we see someone gasping for breath, or face down in the mud, we need to touch them. Sometimes, it is the littlest thing that makes the biggest difference. Thank you for your encouragement.

Trump, may you and your resilient family continue to positively rise and shine.

Your words and your example of AbraHAM Lincoln are right on. Life is a road of choices. I chose to take the road less traveled so I choose to be positive, happy, passionate, loving and believe that God loves me. But if I did not love myself, I could love no one else and my passion for life would be extremely minute, and probably non-existent. Being positive is a state of mind. And there is nothing stronger than a made up mind. So I made up my mind to be positive long, long ago even after I learned that Judaism and Christianity wickedly teaches, and has taught for thousands of years, that I am cursed by a verse in the Bible (Genesis 9:25), which, by the way, I have proven wrong after years of tremendously deep Bible and Hebrew language study and intense spiritual warfare.

I filed that bit of "cursed" information in my head, Trump, not in my heart, although it almost moved to my heart. But I stayed faithfully positive and We won. But there are millions of people, especially children, who are spiritually defeated in more ways than just this one and they do not realize it which is why the majority of people are not positive and are depressed pain pill poppers. However, the pain’s source is religion. "Feed the children"….. the Truth! Up till now the wolves are feeding the children (the Lambs). That’s a no-win situation. We are positive of victory in Our mission. God is Love (1 John 4:8). And by faith, We have won.

Trump, even though I work with a group of exceptionally positive and outstanding people, when I capitalize and write "Our, Us or We" in relation to me, I am speaking as my twin Brother Jesus the Christ (the "Anointing") spoke and taught while He was on this planet (John 10:30; 17:21-23). I and My Father God (a.k.a. "YHWH"), and my Twin Brother Jesus the Christ (the Anointed) are One. We, and everyone, are the "true" Trinity. And that is why you will read "Our, Us and We" when I refer to me at times. Everything a person needs, which is God and the anointing (the Christ), can be found inside him and her (1 John 4:4). Idol worship of images and things outside of you is done by the foolish but clever religious leaders and those they have deceived (Romans 1:22-23; Lev. 19:4; 26:1).

Sincerely, your friend and "Revolutionary Entrepreneur"
Nimrod (Gen. 9:25)

I love the way you told the story of a man who tried but never really failed. Each political loss gave him more experience. Each defeat opened up opportunities to get to know people who could help him to succeed.
The timing was perfect for him to be elected to the highest position of government.
He appeared to understand the voters widely different views on slavery and the financial impact it would have on Southern plantations as well as businesses in the North.
Because he was taller than his opponents he stood out more in a crowd. Maybe it was his tall hat (often worn but not in this picture) that made people remember him. Or his frightening face? It certainly wasn't elegance or a charming way with words. It's really hard to say why a President is elected, but you're 100% right that it won't happen if he or she quits trying.
So, do you think Hillary Clinton will run for President again?
Maybe she needs to invest in a stove pipe hat this time.
It will make her look taller and stand out in a crowd better than her pant suits did.
(That's satire so don't get all offensive on me, I'm just joking!)
Anyway, I think she should try again. She sure has gained a lot of experience.

resilience
Is that what its called. If you asked the people who think I'm stepping out of my class, they would call it a few other things none very nice. Having no class and not giving a dam what the others think, i would call it determination. Being knocked down is my just proving I'm alive. be grateful for what is left now that's a defeated attitude. I made what i have why should i be grateful for what is mine and to whom should i be grateful. Having put myself in trouble and getting a hard lesson was all so my doing.
I have never groveled in my life. I really don't know how. Never been a yes man, Don't understand the reason for it. Lincoln i don't think knew how ether.
Unlike Lincoln I'll never run for public office. I like this site and will give my thoughts on things. I how ever wouldn't be here in person, to public for me. Unlike most people who lie and say its about others I relate to things that a fact myself. I talk about myself because its the only person i have the right to talk about. I watch Joe smith and what he is doing right or wrong. i use what i see to improve my self.
I can not say Joe smith you did this wrong. I can say Joe smith i did this before and it didn't work. Then its up to him to take the hint or no.
Makes me look very self centered but it works.
Seeing how i am very self center. My world begins and ends at my skin. NO body at NO time can control me or what i think. there is a old saying from the man this post is about that goes ( a man convinced against his own heart is of his own thought still ) meaning to fores a person to give lip serves to you, just means lip serves not that the person is of the same thought or feeling as you
never seen trumps show the Apprentice don't think I'll Be watching it anytime soon. Not real big on TV.
I think i would be the first person thorn off that show before it stated lol. First time anybody talked to me the way the u tube showed i would have told all of then what they could do with their options and maybe show them. Not real be on being talked down too. I digress If your not willing to pay a price then you'll never move. I not only most never give up I must move to begin with. i can't pick myself up if i didn't try to begin with.

Thanks Trump.
I've learnt a number of lessons from you via Robert Kiyosaki. I admire you lots and enjoy your Apprentice shows. Am also planning to read your books. I admire your resilience, especially when you were in big trouble and came out. I also admire the fact that inspite of all your wealth you haven't stopped learning but continually do so everyday. I too choose to follow that example.
Last week my business partner gave me bad news of resting and concentrating on her studies. I was perturbed, but when I chose to think positively I managed to talk with her and felt better and after all was not convinced to throw her out of the business.
Am ready to be resilient.
God bless.

Giving up is a cop-out. Failure is not an option. It is a learning tool. Too often people quit after failing the first time. By quiting, they learn nothing. We are supposed to be an educated society and yet we quit after the first failure.

Success is a product of failure. That doesn't mean we should take failure lightly. If we want real success, we will keep on trying until we breathed our last breath. If we keep digging through the dung, who knows? We might find a hurd of horses. The question is: Are you (we) willing to dig through the dung bad enough and long enough to get what you (we) want? Life doesn't like fighters. It gives in to them 100% of the time. Doesn't it make sense to devote 100% of your effort into winning the fight?
