I am pleased to announce that work on site on my golf course in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, will begin this week, ahead of schedule. We plan to build the greatest golf course in the world. There are hundreds of acres of magnificent sand dunes and the seaside landscape includes three miles of spectacular oceanfront. 2000 acres in all, and the location couldn’t be better.
I spent five years reviewing sites and turned down over 200 possibilities for development throughout Europe. When I saw the links land at Menie Estate, which is in northeast Scotland’s Grampian region, I knew it was the right place. I thank Aberdeenshire Council, the business community and the residents for their ongoing support. We’re all excited about the work beginning.
I’ve mentioned before that I learn something new every day. When we first reviewed this site, I was introduced to geomorphology, which is the study of movement landforms, including their origin and evolution and the processes that have shaped them over the years. The sand dunes in Scotland required extensive research and experts were called in to study their movement patterns. I studied them too, to discover that planting beds of marram grass could stabilize the dunes by nature of the root system of this grass. It’s been a fascinating process all the way.

We think of land as stable, but it heaves and shifts and is really ever-changing. That is why places with four seasons have such a challenge keeping the roads in good repair.
I am glad you took the time to investigate the ecosystem to make wise choices in the development of such a pristine piece of ecology. Your example of good stewardship is important. By the way, this photo is beautiful and worthy of a poster with one of your note worthy quotes. Isn't this an awesome world?
This is an exciting project for you.
You researched it, talked to people who can help you accomplish your goal, and you have the experience to make this a beautiful and profitable golf community.
Well done!
I hope to travel there when it is completed. It will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Scotland and meet new people.
I have followed this project from the early bird. I have believed to this project all the way allthought it have had difficulties to get building licence (some people have been agaist it). Yes I have believed it and it is very very good to hear this news that the project finally starts.
I have read the story of the Dale Carnegie and his efforts to buildt the Skibo Castle at his time. I value a lot that You are returning money and wisdom to Europe and Scotland like mr. Carnegie did at his time.
All I can do is to hope eagle wigs to Your project or even albatross wigs. Design and develop a masterpiece. It is Your time to do so. Many sales man spirit will be on Your side - mine is!

In quiet moments, I focus on just one stroke, one play, one moment -- the one right here, right now. My whole purpose is to direct that ball, to do it better than ever before. In the end, the whole outcome of the game is determined by that moment, and the direction in which I aimed.
The beauty of that place overwhelms me. Majesty. Magnificence.
Here's cheers to you and yours.....
It is good to notice that there have been used local Scotland workers and institutions building this place and that there has been taken into account the local scenery and nature. To make business with respect the nature is honorable and very challenging. This area is near to everyone in Europe now so I think it would be a great success! Scotland has also its fascinating history and many movies has been filmed there.
This could impact with positive way to all European countries
This is great, now I've learned something new today, too; I've learned what geomorphology is. I think that building a golf course in Scotland is a great idea for Mr. Trump, because it is doing something he loves, building golf courses, and it should allow him to get in touch with his Scotish roots. After all, Scotland is where Mr. Trump's mother's, Mary Trump, side of the family comes from. It is wonderful that he has chosen to pursue an opportunity like this one. Here is to Trump International Golf!

I am speechless from reading previous blog comments on the Scottish golf project. Returning wisdom to Scotland..? Where in this project lies the wisdom I humbly ask? By tearing up unique and pristine coastal land? By building huge hotel properties which does nothing to preserve the landscape.
In this day and age when you can´t turn on a TV or radio without hearing about issues that has to do with how our lifestyle in the western world tears up our global environment faster than anyone of us is willing to admit.
It affects YOU and ME.
I am not a crazy environmentalist in the sense that I am fanatic about it, or a member of Green Peace or anything like that. But it has occurred to me, and should to anybody that plans to live on this planet longer then, say 10 years from now, that we should be alerted about how we treat our planet. And that you and I are responsible. How would you like your environment to look like in the future? I am 35 years old now and I would be devastated to live my life in a world where there are no untouched and pristine landscapes to walk in. And that´s what most parents want for their children as well I should think.
What do you want your kids to grow up in?
It´s YOUR responsibility.
Sincerely yours,
