Trump to Boycott Italy

Blog ImageI have just been informed that Amanda Knox's family has hired a new law firm to help her turn around the injustice that was done in Italy by recently convicting her of murder.  I followed the trial closely and Amanda Knox is not guilty.  I hope the new law firm, led by a very talented guy named Theodore Simon, from Philadelphia, can turn around this injustice and turn it around quickly.  At the same time, I hope somebody in Italy goes after the "wild man" prosecutor who, as I understand, is already being looked at for abuse of power in an unrelated case.  I watched his actions during the trial and they were shocking.  In any event, Donald Trump will not be going to Italy, and in fact will be boycotting Italy, as long as Amanda Knox is sitting in jail.

After her trial, and when she was returned to prison, even the other prisoners cried and couldn't believe that she was back, according to press reports.  Amanda Knox may be guilty of foolish behavior, but she is not guilty of murder.

I hope more people boycott Italy until she is released.  What kind of a system allows a "madman" prosecutor to act the way this prosecutor acted.  He should be the one thrown into jail, not Amanda Knox.

The following evidence implicates Amanda's boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito (RS):
- RS's DNA was on the victim's bra
- RS's bloody footprints in the bathroom and in the hall
- RS's kitchen knife with victim's DNA was found in his kitchen.
- To justify such occurrence, he wrote that once he accidentally pricked the victim while he was cooking for her at a dinner at his apartment. However it was determined that such dinner never took place and the victim had never been at his apartment.
- RS's internet provider records do not agree with RS's allegation that he was on line all evening until 1:00 am the night of the murder
- RS's phone records don't agree with his claim that he slept from 1am till 10am the night following the murder.
- RS's phone records show that he called 112 (Italian 911) to report the (staged?) burglary after the police was already at the house. Is that a normal thing to do Mr. Trump?
- RS's first version of events matches Amanda's but then he asked to retract it, because he said: "it was a bunch of bull that Amanda convinced me to say".
- After that retraction, RS's last version of events does not match Amanda's version of events as he denied that he was with her between 8:40pm and 1:00am, and does not remember if she ever came back after he fell asleep at 1:00 am.
- After that last statement, RS has availed himself of the faculty not to answer any further questions, a right guaranteed by Italian law and similar to the US' 5th Amendment right (a sure sign of innocence!)
- RS's report on the state of the burglarized bedroom door does not match Amanda's
- RS was seen with Amanda in Piazza Grimana the evening of the murder, although he says he was at home all evening.
- RS habitually carries prohibited flick knives in his pants and has a vast collection of knives which he carries with him and changes routinely according to the colors of his attire.
- RS has a fondness for serial killers, rape stories, and other violent and macabre stories all documented in his social network pages.
- RS has a conviction for illegal possession of drugs which he got in his hometown. Exactly like Rudy. A crime of no serious consequence in Italy.

MR. TRUMP! DO YOU AT LEAST BELIEVE RAFFAELE SOLLECITO IS GUILTY, IF NOT AMANDA?

Thank you, you just made A Mom smile. We will carry on our stand and we will bring our girl home. Raffaelle's family is distraught over this as he is. The village idiot is after them now Jan 26, for ridiculous unreal charges. The Village idiot has a court date... Jan 23 woohooooo shall we send roach spray to fumigate the rat before he goes to a cell?

Hey Donald
I like your thinking and I read your last blog about this just as well and while it's admirable that you're boy-cotting Italy travel I think it'll be even more admirable if you step in and help in finances secretly as the parents are our of money; this surely will kill 2birds with 1stone.
Warm wishes

Hi Donald.

First of all let me tell you: you're insiring me every day. I have the cover of you book (Think Big and Kick Ass) on my desktop to force me to think big in every area of my life.

Having said that, I have to tell you, I am Italian and I don't agree with you article.

I mean, you right when you write about the injustice and the abuse of power, that is so wrong, and I'm sure you have the same issue in the US.

I think you're wrong about boycotting Italy. In this way, the mistake of a single person is paid by all of us.

Maybe the American mass media did't inform you guys about the Cermis Disaster in Italy. Basically two American Military pilots killed 20 people. They're totally gulty, but now they're in America FREE.
(this is what I'm talking about: http://rickmccharles.com/2009/08/17/massacre-of-cermis-us-pilot-kills...)

So, we can fight each other by boycotting our countries, of we can take the gulty and punish him.

I think the secondo is the best, dont you think so?

Anyway, thank you for all.

Marco

There is no perfect government, but I would rather be under this one than any other. Being born into freedom, we Americans tend to take it for granted, and we totally forget that there are many places that do not enjoy the rights and protections we have.

Amanda is just one of many people throughout the globe who are imprisoned for false charges, or just telling the truth, or any number of "reasons". When they are locked away, they are hidden from view and are easily forgotten. Amanda is fortunate to have family fighting for her, to have media attention, and to have people of influence - like you - to take up her cause.

While Amanda may have made some less than ideal choices - particularly in not understanding the impact of those choices in a different culture, incarcerated, she should find plenty of time to reflect on lessons learned and what direction she wants to take her life from this point forward. I have to admire her courage to study in a different culture, and I believe this whole experience will provide opportunities for growth and character development.

As Americans, we need to protect rights and be vigilante to maintain our freedoms, and gaurd against abuses of power - not just in our community, but in our world. If we remain silent, when we see injustice, we are just as guilty as the parties inflicting it. Boycotts work. Ghandi, and Martin Luther King both demonstrated how much impact individuals can have when they work together. In the present economy, I'm not sure how much we are importing or purchasing from anywhere, but it is the individuals who handled the case - not the merchants - who should feel the impact. There are no easy answers, but I think the Golden Rule should be used as a guide.

I disagree with 11046900 if he would really research this case and stay away from dishonest news medias. I think you need to look at the victim the only DNA that was collected off & in her body was from Rudy Guede, a known criminal and lair. It is so blantly obvious that Guede followed the victim home and asked her if he could come in probably to use the phone and he raped, killed and robbed her. Guede was so sloppy that he didn't even bother to flush the toliet after he committed this hedious crime. The knife in question that was taken from Raffaele Sollecito's apartment was to big it had only been used to prepare dinner at Amanda & Meredith's house. Also their was a woman who was not allowed to testify who saw Guede throw away something (the police never looked for what was thrown away).
Guede ran with the money to Germany. Anyone with any sense would know he is the guility person and acted ALONE! I also suggest that people read the interview with Douglas Preston author of the "Monster of Florence" The Prosecutor Mignini is a nutcase and is going on trial himself this month. I believe it is for UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR.
Thanks Donald for being such a good person who is honest & supporting Amanda. I would tell all Americans to stay out of Italy until they fix their broken pathetic judicial system.

What are the odds that a guy who collects knives, posts pictures of himself on face book with knives and bleach, admires serial killers, and carries flick knives, ends up dating a gal that admits she has an "inner ****" and who writes stories about rape on her blog and in prison writing contests?

Either people have been wildly exaggerating or this was quite a pair.

Harry rag is still at it. If the innocence is shown, then Harry Rag will get no money for the website truejustice.org he is affiliated at.
The DNA.. he is speaking of is false. There is simply the bra clasp issue, which as we know is also false. I speak from no media, I speak from true facts, straight from the source.

truejustice.org

Harry Rag is connected with Peter Quennell - A New York Real Estate Developer and Financier. PQ is a notorious Internet Bully. He threatens to sue people for libel all the time. Harry Rag is a Site Admin on Peter's site True Justice for Meredith. He doesn't write under the name Harry Rag - he writes under the name The Machine. He and Peter are pretty tight.
There is another guy named Michael who runs the PMF site who is also a huge bully. The Machine/Rag and Peter Q are also involved in that site.

The interesting questions..
Peter Quennell seems to have the inside scoop on stories from Barbie Nadeau who writes for Newsweek.
What is their connection?
Harry Rag is writing from Sheffield, England.
What is his connection to Quennell?
And even more interesting....
There is a Seattle police investigation on an Internet bullying ring that includes Quennell.

You can type as much as you like in these blogs and you can boycott whatever and whomever you want, but criminal cases get decided in court and not on blogs.

A legally established court of law in a free and democratic nation has decided that Amanda Knox, along with two others, is guilty of a crime, and, pending the appeal, she will remain in jail, whether you like it or not.

Besides how could you possibly be more right than the judges and jurors who decided in that court?

- None of you attended the trial.
- None of you have access to the entire body of evidence presented in court.
- And even if you had attended the trial and had access to all of the evidence, none of you understands a word of Italian and couldn't order a pizza in Italian to save your life, so how could you possibly understand the evidence brought into court?

All of you are basing your assumptions on very limited information, often inaccurate and biased, published by the US and UK media, whose journalists speak no Italian and have no knowledge of Italian law and judicial procedure.

You're just a bunch of deluded self-righteous people (starting with Mr. Trump) who think to know better than everybody else, but actually know absolutely nothing about nothing.

Mr. Trump, if you want to opine about this case, not only you shouldn't boycott Italy, but actually you should move there, learn the language, go to Law school, and attend the trial. It would even help your looks. Your hairdo is terrible, and they have great hair stylists in Italy.

Arrivederci from an Italian who knows Italian, Italian Law and yet would rather let the court decide this case.
[-] Posted by member11056938 on 01/13/2010 2:14 PM
How do you know Amanda Knox isn't guilty, Trump? No matter how "closely" you've been following this case, you can never be certain about Knox's innocence.

What if she wasn't young and pretty? Would you still defend her?

There is no question that Raffaele Sollecito has deliberately and repeatedly lied.
He even himself admitted that he told the police "un sacco di cazzate" (a load of rubbish), and the judges at the Italian Supreme Court noted that he had lied and was reluctant to cooperate.

Lie one. Raffaele Sollecito first claimed in an interview with Kate Mansey from the Sunday Mirror that he and Amanda Knox were at a friend’s party on the night of the murder. It would have been obviously a tad difficult for Sollecito to find any witnesses who had attended an imaginary party to provide him and Knox with an alibi. This alibi was predictably abandoned very quickly.

Lie two. Sollecito then claimed that he was his apartment with Amanda Knox. This alibi is flatly contradicted by a silent witness: forensic evidence. According to the scientific police, there are six separate pieces of forensic evidence, including an abundant amount of his DNA on Meredith’s bra clasp, that place him in the cottage on Via della Pergola on the night of the murder.

Lie three. Sollecito then came up with a third alibi. He claimed that he was alone at his apartment and that Knox had gone out from 9pm to 1am. Both Sollecito and Knox gave completely different accounts of where they were, who they were with and what they doing on the night of the murder. These weren’t small inconsistencies, but huge, whopping lies.

Lies four and five. Sollecito and Knox told the postal police that he had called the police before the postal police had turned up at the cottage and were waiting for them. Sollecito later admitted that this was not true and that he had lied because he had believed Amanda Knox’s version of what had happened.

He said he went outside "to see if I could climb up to Meredith’s window" but could not. "I tried to force the door but couldn’t, and at that point I decided to call my sister for advice because she is a Carabinieri officer. She told me to dial 112 (the Italian emergency number) but at that moment the postal police arrived. He added: "In my former statement I told you a load of rubbish because I believed Amanda’s version of what happened and did not think about the inconsistencies." (The Times, 7 November, 2007).

Lie six. Knox and Sollecito said they couldn’t remember most of what happened on the night of the murder, because they had smoked cannabis.

It is medically impossible for cannabis to cause such dramatic amnesia and there are no studies that have ever demonstrated that this is possible.

Long term use of cannabis may affect short-term memory, which means that users might have difficulty recalling a telephone number. But it won’t wipe out whole chunks of an evening from their memory banks.

Lie seven. Sollecito claimed that he had spoken to his father at 11pm. Phone records show that there was no telephone conversation at this time. Sollecito’s father called him a couple of hours earlier at 8.40pm.

Lie eight. Sollecito claimed that he was surfing the Internet from 11pm to 1am. The Kercher’s lawyer, Franco Maresca, pointed out that credible witnesses had shattered Sollecito’s alibi for the night of the murder. Sollecito still maintains he was home that night, working on his computer, but computer specialists have testified that his computer was not used for an eight-hour period on the night of Meredith’s murder

Lie nine. Sollecito claimed that he had slept until 10pm the next day. However, he used his computer at 5.32am and turned on his mobile phone at 6.02am. The Italian Supreme Court remarked that his night was "sleepless" to say the least.

Lie ten. When Sollecito heard that the scientific police had found Meredith’s DNA on the double DNA knife in his apartment. He told a****and bull story about accidentally pricking Meredith’s hand whilst cooking at his apartment. She had never been to his apartment.

I've actually become fascinated by all the twisted
logic and scenarios that show a great discomfort
with the truth of her innocence. Clearly, some
have made a substantial emotional investment in
the belief that Amanda is guilty.
It was a physical impossibility to participate
in this horrible crime without leaving substantial
DNA evidence in the room where the crime took place.
That's why Rudy Guede's forensic evidence is all
over the room. After all, HE did the crime.
Now, find one piece of irrefutable evidence that Amanda
and Raffaele were in the room when the murder took place.
Just ONE piece of IRREFUTABLE evidence that they were
there. Like a bloody thumb print. You can't because
they weren't there. Every piece of evidence that was
offered by the prosecution was demolished by the defense.
That's important because Amanda lived at the residence
and Raffaele had visited several times. One needs to
establish their presence in the room when the murder took
place because she lived at the residence and he visited.
They are both innocent. I know that the truth of that
hurts some people. They want to believe what Amanda wanted
to believe: that an innocent person doesn't get convicted
of a crime that they didn't commit. Very sadly it happens.

All theories and stories about cleaning have been debunked.
That's why the prosecution never made the "cleaning" a part
of their case. The logic of being able to clean up one's
own evidence while leaving Rudy's behind doesn't exist.

The "guilties" cite 10,000 pages of evidence about the crime.
It's the interpretation of the RELEVANT evidence that matters.

They weren't in the room when the murder took place.

If they were, the relevant evidence would show that.

It doesn't. End of story.

Okay, let me comment on all the info provided by member11046900:

- RS's DNA was on the victim's bra
NO, it was on the bra CLASP, which was finally recovered as evidence weeks
after the initial crime scene investigation and is therefore tainted/corrupted
evidence. It would never pass muster in other courtrooms around the world.
Along with RS's DNA was the DNA of several others, adding to the contamination outcome.
RS visited the residence several times, supporting the contamination outcome.
- RS's bloody footprints in the bathroom and in the hall
NO, those were Rudy Guede's.
- RS's kitchen knife with victim's DNA was found in his kitchen.
NO, the DNA was miniscule, consistent with laboratory contamination from other sources
of Meredith's DNA. Again, wouldn't hold up in a other courtrooms around the world

--------------------------
-------------------------- all inconsistencies in RS's various accounts can be attributed
to harsh interrogation techniques that are difficult to imagine by those who are not familiar
with them. Also faulty memory and confusion, magnified by those techniques.

--------------------------

- RS's report on the state of the burglarized bedroom door does not match Amanda's
of NO consequence
- RS was seen with Amanda in Piazza Grimana the evening of the murder, although he says...
this story was DEBUNKED at the trial, UNRELIABLE witness.

There was no IRREFUTABLE evidence of the presence of RS or AK in the room when the murder took
place, making it impossible for their participation in the murder. Every piece of evidence

Rudy Guede's forensic evidence was all over the room. He acted alone.
RS and Amanda are innocent. End of story.

Donald, you may know plenty about hair products but the Italian criminal justice system is way beyond you! Your motivation, as in the past, is probably fuelled more by lust than by reason. She's pretty, I grant you that... but I'm sure you'd sleep with one eye open if she was lying next to you. The prosecution did what it set out to do - prove that she, along with Raffaele Sollecito, murdered Meredith Kercher and, while it was probably not premeditated murder, the facts pointed to this fact conclusively. Boycott Italian goods? What are you, stupid? Ok, take off your Brioni suit and Lattanzi shoes off first. The last thing you want to do as a New Yorker is go around shooting your mouth off about Italians! I guess Italy can't boycott you back since no-one there knows a thing about you. Italy already has its own super-rich clown to deal with, a certain Mr. Berlusconi, so your comments will doubtless go unreported.

The cell phone issue and timeline are very problematic.

1. Where was Amanda at 12:08?

At 12:08, Amanda calls Filomena. Amanda claims that she made this call from Raffaele’s house.
In his prison diary, Raffaele describes the same conversation as taking place at the cottage.
.
Filomena says that Amanda explained, in that conversation, that she was at the cottage, and was on her way to fetch Raffaele.
.
2. Why didn’t Amanda call Raffaele?

3. Why did Amanda stop calling Meredith’s phones?

In her email on Nov.4 to her friends, Amanda says she called Meredith’s phones after speaking to Filomena – cellphone records support this claim. But she also says that the Italian phone "just kept ringing, no answer".
.
Her cellphone records show this call lasted just three seconds, and the call to the UK phone lasted just four seconds. (The WeAnswer Call service, which prides itself on how quickly it answers its customers’ calls, boasts that their average speed-of-answer is 5.5 seconds.)
.
Next, Amanda claims that she returns to the cottage with Raffaele.
.
But why doesn’t she try Meredith’s phones again? If the Italian phone was going to continually ring again – even for just three seconds – she’d now be able to hear it through the bedroom door (assuming Meredith had it with her).
.
4. Why didn’t Amanda call Filomena back?
.
In the 12:08 call, Amanda told Filomena she would try Meredith’s phones and then call her back. .

But cellphone records show that Amanda never called Filomena back at all.
.
On the other hand, Filomena DOES call Amanda back – at 12:12 and 12:20.
.
Then Filomena tries a third time, at 12:34, which is when Amanda tells her that Filomena’s own room has been broken into.
.
5. Why doesn’t Amanda mention that she called her mother in Seattle?
.
Her cellphone records also show that Amanda called her mother at 12:47 – but she makes no mention of this call in her email. It is 4am in Seattle - Amanda never calls at that hour.

Did Amanda know something was horribly wrong? She still hasn't called the police!
.
Edda Mellas claims that she told Amanda to hang up and call the police – but Amanda makes no mention of this advice in describing their decision to call the police.
.
The email describes the decision to call the police as something between herself and Raffaele, after she had tried to see through Meredith’s window, and after Raffaele had tried to break down Meredith’s door.
.
But in the ten minutes before Raffaele calls his sister (an officer in the carabinieri), Raffaele has received a call from his father (at 12:40:03) and Amanda has made a call to her mother (at 12:47:23) – neither of which calls is mentioned in the email.
.
Raffaele’s sister gives him the same advice that Edda Mellas gave Amanda: hang up and call the cops.
.
6. How can the tour of the cottage and the arrivals of first Marco and Luca, and then of Filomena and Paola, all take place between 12:55 and 13:00?
.
Raffaele makes the successful emergency call (lasting nearly a minute) at 12:54:39.
.
Meredith’s UK phone is activated at Police HQ at 13:00 – as part of a conversation which the postal police at the cottage are having about that phone with staff at HQ.
.
This conversation mentions Filomena’s arrival, and the information she’s given them about it being a UK phone.
.
This means that we need to fit the following activities into those five minutes, if Amanda’s email is to be believed:
.
The postal police arrive later than 12:55
.
Amanda and Raffaele give them a tour of the cottage, including the suspected break-in and the bloodstains in the bathroom
.
Amanda writes down Meredith’s phone numbers for them, on a post-it note which Luca Altieri notices on the kitchen table when he arrives

The postal police make contact with their HQ
During this call, Meredith’s phone is activated (at 13:00)

There simply isn’t enough time for all those other activities to take place in a period of less than five minutes.

Someone wrote that 'The prosecutor likes to sue for libel, be warned.'
I know Mr. Trump would like nothing better.

Mr Trump I am a great fan of yours but must respectfully disagree. Italy is not Afghanistan or the Congo but a civilised European democracy with an independent judiciary. Amanda Knox was convicted by a jury of first degree murder. The Pax Americana does not extend so far as to permit Americans to commit serious crimes when abroad. Your considerable fame and influence would be better spent dealing with real global issues rather than intervening on the behalf of a convicted murderess.

you should stop writing lies. your posting LIES and I don't care if you;re Italian or NOT! You are either ignorant of the corruption in the political/judicial system in Italy or you are simply LYING about the fact that it exists, and then some!!
The FACT is...the objection Mr Trump and the rest of have is the Scientific Evidence (not the dribble, scandalous lies you spread and post here and everywhere) has PROOF of the contaminated evidence, the slander which evolved to a horrific witch-hunt and the destruction of the characters of 2 innocent kids, Amanda and Raffaele. The "court" of which you speak has committed serious neglect and their wrongs will be righted, soon!

"A legally established court of law in a free and democratic nation has decided that Amanda Knox, along with two others, is guilty of a crime, and, pending the appeal, she will remain in jail, whether you like it or not." Not only is your grammar incorrect, but you are 100% completely incorrect about Italy being a "free and democratic" country, speak to ANY Italian about the judicial system and the political system and they will tell you about who UNJUST and frightening it would be to challenge the powers that be, such as Berlusconi, a corrupt BULLY! How do I know, I lived in Italy and Was MARRIED to one.

"Besides how could you possibly be more right than the judges and jurors who decided in that court?" How naive can you be? Do you sincerely believe judges and jurors are never corrupt? You didn't mention that in Italy Judges have nobody to rule over THEM! Unlike in the US Judges can do WHATEVER they want and create laws as THEY seem fit. As for jurors? PAAA-LEEESE, they are "ANYONE'S", they can be bought, convinced, persuaded or whatever.

"None of you attended the trial." and YOU did?

"None of you have access to the entire body of evidence presented in court." and YOU do? (btw, i have NO DOUBT I am closer than you and I do not have to tell you why or how)

"And even if you had attended the trial and had access to all of the evidence, none of you understands a word of Italian and couldn't order a pizza in Italian to save your life, so how could you possibly understand the evidence brought into court?" Tu sei il piu GRANDE Imbecile ho mai visto nella mia vita!!! How's THAT buddy?

"All of you are basing your assumptions on very limited information, often inaccurate and biased, published by the US and UK media, whose journalists speak no Italian and have no knowledge of Italian law and judicial procedure." you are a presumptuous and arrogant twit.

"You're just a bunch of deluded self-righteous people (starting with Mr. Trump) who think to know better than everybody else, but actually know absolutely nothing about nothing." jealousy is extremely unappealing and will eat you heart out...which actually, I hope it does!

"Mr. Trump, if you want to opine about this case, not only you shouldn't boycott Italy, but actually you should move there, learn the language, go to Law school, and attend the trial. It would even help your looks. Your hairdo is terrible, and they have great hair stylists in Italy." you're a DOUCHE BAG and a pathetic loser, so go crawl back under the rock from where you came...oh, BTW....D Trump is a comfortable man rated one of the WEALTHIEST in the world...you? are just a sour grape slowly turning into a rotten little raisin.

"Arrivederci from an Italian who knows Italian, Italian Law and yet would rather let the court decide this case." I have no doubt your a bitter ass wipe who knows very little of anything and nobody really cares what you say anyway.

shoo fly!

I just want to say Thank you and allow you a moment to take a breath. It is working, I will not state the ways I know. I would also like to express to you that Raffaelle is doing much better now. Your voice is being heard by his ears as well. He sends Thank you's to you and the supporters as well. His statement to you is, He and Amanda are innocent. Now and forever in this matter.

Donald: and since when you know about law and justice system? I thought you were building high rises....pls, keep on doing what you have always done, "buildings", and let the Italian judges do their work......boycott Italy.....i thought you were smarter than that.....

Dear Mr. Trump and Team Free Amanda,

This is how a boycott works. It begins with all of us. It ends with all of us.
Example of a railroad boycott who have seriously focused unions. The big guys "tell" everyone else if they are going to do a "slow down" or "stop - strike." The switchman goes through the train in the maintenance yards his whispers " slow down, no one gets off the train until he does." It's all done quietly from the Engineers down to people cleaning the trains, electricians, mechanical workers, people who load the trains with food, water, and dry goods. When everyone is done addressing their work, they are given a signal to head for the Vestibules. (a porch on a train) Not one bit of noise, not one person steps off the train. The switchman who went through the train and instructed everyone stands at the end of the train on the Vestibule. All these quiet multi worker railroad heads peek down his way. NO ONE would dare step off that train before he does. It is a quiet and strong power and peer pressure. Talk about organized. The supervisors or foreman are standing outside the train without a clue. The look at everyone and remind everyone the train is supposed to leave. No one moves. No one makes a sound. There must be over a hundred people doing this action quietly.
Then, when the switchman who is leading us steps off the train....certainly after the train is running late...all hundred workers step off the train together. No one says a word. No one is in a hurry. Everyone just looks the supervisor- forman in the eyes as if to say, " Do we have your attention yet ? "
This is what American people can do when we are tired of talking. By the time, we actually went on strike, it went on for only 8 hours or so.
The President Of The United States Of America is forced to intervene due to the millions and billions " regular people " have already cost the powers that be.
Perugia, Italy, we Americans are a brave and mighty people. I strongly recommend you do not push us to extremes because you will get your butts kicked. You may go to the bank on this one.

Mr Alf J. Lundgren

You are perfectly right when you say you don't trust any government led by mister B, i don't trust it either. How could i trust a man that claims to be the best prime minister that italy has ever had (yes he said that) while he's attending his own business using power and influence that comes from his istitutional role?

But the fact is that, as you probably know, justice and political power are two separate things (event thow mister B would prefer otherwise) so i don't understand the connection you're suggesting between the two. Amanda was found guilty not because of or under the influence of political power. Anyway i can assure you that italian justice is event too "garantista" and that means that in a three degrees trial it is unlikely that an innocent girl is found guilty if she is not.

ps, the murder was committed in italy, so it is logical that the trial takes place in italy, and it would have been the same if the crime was committed in the USA by an italian citizen.

CORRECT ME THEN. WHERE WAS I WRONG?

"you should stop writing lies. your posting LIES "

I POSTED THE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.
TRY TO EXPLAIN THIS PRINCIPLE TO AMANDA AND HER BOYFRIEND.
I KNOW IT'S HARD TO HEAR TRUTH AND AMANDA IN THE SAME SENTENCE.

"You didn't mention that in Italy Judges have nobody to rule over THEM! Unlike in the US Judges can do WHATEVER they want and create laws as THEY seem fit."

THE SUPERIOR COUNCIL OF MAGISTRATES RULES OVER THE JUDICIARY. MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL ARE APPOINTED FOR ONE THIRD BY THE PARLIAMENT AND FOR TWO THIRDS BY MAGISTRATES THROUGH NATIONWIDE ELECTIONS. ITALY HAS PROBABLY THE MOST INDEPENDENT JUDICIARY IN THE WORLD AND SUCH INDEPENDENCE FROM THE LEGISLATIVE AND EXECUTIVE POWER WAS ESTABLISHED IN THE CONSTITUTION TO AVOID THE ABUSES OF THE PAST FASCIST REGIME, WHICH ROUTINELY USED MAGISTRATES TO PERSECUTE THEIR POLITICAL OPPONENTS AND PUNISHED THOSE JUDGES WHO REFUSED TO DO SO.

JUDGES CANNOT DO WHATEVER THEY WANT, AND CERTAINLY CANNOT CREATE LAWS. THE LEGISLATIVE POWER BELONGS TO THE PARLIAMENT.

YOU SHOULD HAVE READ THE ITALIAN CONSTITUTION BEFORE TALKING NONSENSE. WHY DIDN'T YOU READ IT WHEN YOU LIVED IN ITALY? OR CAN YOU READ?

"Tu sei il piu GRANDE Imbecile ho mai visto nella mia vita!!! How's THAT buddy?"

THE WORD "PIU' " REQUIRES AN ACCENT, IMBECILLE REQUIRES TWO 'L', YOU FORGOT THE CONJUNCTION "CHE" BEFORE "HO".
I'LL GIVE YOU AN "F", SINCE I'M SURE YOU USED GOOGLE FOR THE REST.

"[...] Berlusconi, a corrupt BULLY! How do I know, I lived in Italy and Was MARRIED to one."

WHERE YOU MARRIED TO A BULLY? OR TO A BERLUSCONI?
YOUR SENTENCE IS NOT CLEAR. CHECK YOUR GRAMMAR AND REPOST.

EVERYTHING ELSE YOU WROTE IS JUST HOGWASH.

member11057164 says:

"NO, it was on the bra CLASP, which was finally recovered as evidence weeks
after the initial crime scene investigation and is therefore tainted/corrupted
evidence. It would never pass muster in other courtrooms around the world."

IT PASSED MUSTER IN THE COURTROOM IN ITALY, AND THAT IS WHERE IT COUNTS. THIS TRIAL IS TAKING PLACE IN PERUGIA, NOT AROUND THE WORLD. SORRY! IF AMANDA WANTED THIS TRIAL TO TAKE PLACE IN SEATTLE, SHE SHOULD HAVE KILLED IN SEATTLE.

"RS visited the residence several times, supporting the contamination outcome."

EXPERTS SAID THAT CONTAMINATION WAS NOT POSSIBLE SINCE THE ROOM WAS SEALED AND THE ONLY DNA BELONGING TO RS WAS IN A CIGARETTE BUTT VERY FAR AWAY FROM THE BEDROOM.
THE JUDGES AND JURORS BELIEVED THAT THEORY, AND NOT YOURS.
SORRY BUDDY! YOU WERE NOT PART OF THE JURY.

"[...] bloody footprints in the bathroom and in the hall
NO, those were Rudy Guede's."

THE EXPERTS FROM THE ITALIAN SCIENTIFIC POLICE PRESENTED THE CASE AND ASSERTED THEY BELONGED TO RAFFAELE SOLLECITO. AND THEY DID SO CONVINCINGLY ENOUGH THAT THE JUDGES AND JURORS BELIEVED THAT THEORY, AND NOT YOURS.
SORRY BUDDY! YOU WERE NOT PART OF THE JURY.

- RS's kitchen knife with victim's DNA was found in his kitchen.
NO, the DNA was miniscule, consistent with laboratory contamination from other sources of Meredith's DNA. Again, wouldn't hold up in a other courtrooms around the world.

THAT WAS CONSIDERED ENOUGH FOR THE ITALIAN JUDGES AND JURY. THE TRIAL IS NOT TAKING PLACE AROUND THE WORLD. IT’S TAKING PLACE IN ITALY AND IS HELD IN ACCORDANCE TO THE LAWS OF THAT NATION, NOT YOURS.

" all inconsistencies in RS's various accounts can be attributed to harsh interrogation techniques that are difficult to imagine by those who are not familiar with them. Also faulty memory and confusion, magnified by those techniques."

SURE! TELL THAT TO THE PROSECUTOR WHO’S HOLDING CASEY ANTHONY IN JAIL.
UNFORTUNATELY THE JUDGES AND JURORS DIDN’T BUY YOUR THEORY!
SORRY BUDDY! BUT YOU WERE NOT PART OF THE JURY.

"- RS's report on the state of the burglarized bedroom door does not match Amanda's
of NO consequence"

IT ADDS TO THE INCONSISTENCY OF THEIR STATEMENTS AND ALIBIS.

"- RS was seen with Amanda in Piazza Grimana the evening of the murder, although he says...
this story was DEBUNKED at the trial, UNRELIABLE witness."

ABSOLUTELY NOT! THE JUDGES AND JURORS CONSIDERED SUCH TESTIMONY RELIABLE AND VALID.
SORRY BUDDY! BUT YOU WERE NOT PART OF THE JURY.

- RS habitually carries prohibited flick knives in his pants and has a vast collection...
of NO consequence, Rudy Guede had been apprehended in burglaries where he threatened others with a knife that he carried on his burglaries.
RUDY GUEDE HAD A CLEAN CRIMINAL RECORD, AND THAT’S THE REASON FOR THE DECREASE OF HIS SENTENCE. BOTH LOVERS OF KNIVES I GUESS. THAT’S WHY THEY BOTH BELONG BEHIND BARS.

- RS has a fondness for serial killers, rape stories, and other violent and macabre...
of NO consequence
MAYBE, BUT IT RELAYS A PORTRAIT OF A VERY DISTURBED INDIVIDUAL.

- RS has a conviction for illegal possession of drugs which he got in his hometown. Exactly like Rudy.
of NO consequence, Rudy Guede has a criminal record supporting use of a knife in a burglary, not so for RS who is not a local criminal like Rudy Guede.

NOT TRUE. RUDY GUEDE HAD A CLEAN CRIMINAL RECORD. SEE ABOVE.
--------------------------
"There was no IRREFUTABLE evidence of the presence of RS or AK in the room when the murder took place"

THERE WAS. DID YOU FORGET THE DNA ON THE BRA CLASP ALREADY?

Rudy Guede's forensic evidence was all over the room. He acted alone.

THAT’S NOT WHAT THE JUDGES AND JURORS BELIEVED.
SORRY BUDDY! BUT YOU WERE NOT PART OF THE JURY.

RS and Amanda are innocent. End of story.
THAT’S NOT WHAT THE JUDGES AND JURORS BELIEVED.
SORRY BUDDY! BUT YOU WERE NOT PART OF THE JURY AND YOUR OPINION DOESN'T COUNT.

It must be really funny for Italians in Italy to hear all this criticism about their police interrogation methods in relation to the Knox case, coming from the country who invented water-boarding and whose top Gov't attorneys argued that water-boarding is a constitutionally acceptable "enhanced" interrogation technique.

I don't think Americans can claim the high ground anymore. But it's hard for them to get rid of their arrogance that makes them believe they still can.

Mr. Trump! Since you're not traveling to Italy anymore, where do you plan to spend your vacations now? Guantanamo Bay, I suppose!

God Bless America!

These kids need help, this is uncalled for, apparently this would be totally proved wrong if in fact that video taping of the interrogation, was done. This man gives the appearance in his actions, of the young miserable child on the play ground filled with hate that no one ever played with. Apparently his Mother forgot to teach him any ethics at all of life or acting human in any way.

The members of the jury that convicted Knox and Sollecito sat through every single piece of evidence relating to this trial, listening to the arguments in their native tongue. They were in by far the best position to judge the two defendants. Can Trump honestly say that he is in such a position? Or those who have seen mere snippets of news, often entirely biased towards Knox? The ignorance of some of the comments on here astounds me. Personally, I feel they are guilty based on what I have read from a variety of sources, but I am obviously nowhere near as well informed as those on the jury.
I am amazed to see someone of such standing as Trump to make such foolish comments. Boycotting Italy? What if those countries with citizens wrongly convicted in the USA did the same? As a Scotsman (with one half of my family American), the case of Kenny Ritchie springs to mind, and he was convicted on far weaker evidence than Knox and Sollecito. I suspect the vast majority of Americans will be ignoring this stupidity.
On a separate note, for those describing Trump as a "saint" etc etc, consider his recent attempt to force local people in Aberdeenshire off of their land to make way for a golf course. Living nearby, I am in favour of the development, but Trump's bullying tactics and pathetic slander ("village idiot" and all that) are swiftly changing my opinion.
I see that "member11046900" posted similar comments and was roundly criticized. He/she seems to be the most sensible person here. Interesting to see if this gets past moderation, might not be positive enough...

Dear Mr. Trump and NEW PEOPLE BLOGGERS,

Yes, I mean you " 6900 " and any other debaters on Amanda's horrible demise so far. This blog is intended for constructive and positive ideas, strategic plans, which are optimistic and can realistically be applied to help and/or succeed in FREEING AMANDA KNOX. We have kicked this situation around with "second guessing" plenty. I am only bringing the new people up to speed. Second guessing is only an anxiety builder ! The truth is no one has PROVEN Amanda is guilty or even deserves to be in jail or prison. This is A FACT !
If any of you want to help, PLEASE BOMBARD SENATOR MARIA CANTWELL AND SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON'S EMAIL ADDRESSES UNTIL WE CRASH THE SERVERS ! I just emailed both of them expressing my outrage for the fact that the Perugia, Italy prosecutor has been found guilty of abusing his office and power and is running around free. In fact, this assanine corrupt Italian is still being allowed to make judgments on people. NO WAY ! AMANDA SHOULD BE FREED AND SENT HOME TO HER BELOVED AMERICANS AND THE USA THIS MOMENT. ! PLEASE EMAIL THE SENATOR AND SECRETARY OF STATE. I LET THEM KNOW I WILL NOT VOTE FOR THEM IF SOMEONE DOES NOT STEP UP TO HELP THIS POOR AMERICAN GIRL, AMANDA KNOX.
Critical? Save it. This is not what this blog is for. Please tell all your friends and neighbors to email Cantwell and Clinton ! Report back your achievements or lack thereof and we will make a new plan!
FREE AMANDA KNOX NOW ! The more we argue among ourselves, the less we accomplish for Amanda.
[-] Posted by member11046915 on 02/08/2010 1:42 PM
Dear Mr. Trump,

11069225, It is you who judges the most sensible person on the blog? This is not what we are here for. We are here to develop a " Realistic Plan " to FREE AMANDA KNOX. This is the most effective message and it came from Mr. Donald Trump!

What are you all doing on this blog to help FREE AMANDA ? A ****ing session which has been going on since she was arrested hardly seems like a decent two cents worth of a constructive plan we can all follow. ONE MORE TIME, PLEASE CONTACT SENATOR MARIA CANTWELL AND SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON TO LET THEM KNOW YOUR INTEREST IN FREEING AMANDA KNOX.
SENATOR CANTWELL RESPONDED TO ME AND IS SUPPORTING THE IDEA THAT THE US GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO INTERVENE TO HELP FREE AMANDA FROM PRISON IN PERUGIA, ITALY.
I do not care about who thinks whomever else is right, wrong, stupid, an ass, for the most part.
I did have my "anger" day when Mr. Trump notified us that the prosecutor was convicted of abuse of his power in another murder case. THE JUDGE IN AMANDA'S CASE WAS SITTING IN THE JURY ROOM AND HAD ASSIGNED HIMSELF THERE. THIS IS A FACT. What person on that jury wasn't intimidated this miscarriage of justice ? This one fact would effect the entire jury's verdict ! This is why victims of domestic violence and other crimes are not interviewed right in front of the abuser.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING " TODAY " TO HELP FREE AMANDA KNOX ? It is so easy to join in on negativity. It takes brains to remain focused on the goal, be consistent, and present a positive outcome. FREE AMANDA KNOX TODAY ! BOYCOTT ITALY! WRITE TO BOEING AIRPLANE COMPANY AND TELL THEM TO CLOSE THEIR BOEING COMPANY IN ITALY. YES, BOEING HAS A COMPANY PLACED IN ITALY. BOEING IS STRONG IN AMANDA'S HOME STATE OF WASHINGTON AND ALL AROUND THE CITY OF SEATTLE.
STOP THE DEBATE, GET ON BOARD WITH THE PLAN TO FREE AMANDA!

watched sky news today lads italy has slipped back into recession.after greece it is in a group of nations with huge death that is threatening the stability of the euro. they will be hoping for a good tourist season and an export led recovery.if ye in the united states could stop one shipment of italian exports or get a few very prominent people to publically ask us people not to visit italy while amanda is held hostage, one cargo load of italian goods left unloaded in a us port in support of amanda knox during the boom this would take time but now with this very deep recession goverments are fearing there ability to survive and are desperate for revenue the market ye are for them and the amount of tourists from the us to italy a little might make this case something that has to be solved

dear mr trump
I watched sky news on friday morning greece is bankrupt. Italy is in a group of four nations that has the next biggest dept problem in the eec an is threatening the stability of the euro. Italy has slipped back into recession. The italians and there goverment will be hoping for a good tourist season and for an export led recovery. Now is the time for a public statment for americans not to visit italy while amanda knox is held hostage. If amanda supporters could just stop one shipment of italian goods entering the us, the italian government would make solving this case a priority.maybe amanda supporters are already been more sucessful than we think stopping trade between italy and the us and that is why italy has slipped back into recession

This case has been one long stream of prosecution and police misconduct including: the breaking of judicial seal with phony evidence leaks designed to assassinate character, destruction of evidence, withholding of evidence, negligent handling of evidence, cherry picking of data, and promotion of tainted evidence. The police lab still refuses to release the electronic .fsa files that would show the world their phony analysis procedures.

A 20 year old woman was subjected to an all night anti-mafia style interrogation with multiple officers screaming at her, in a language she was just beginning to learn, because they misinterpreted the meaning of the Americanism "See you later" at the end of a phone call. Italians need to come to terms with their police procedures in the same way that Americans had to come to terms with Guantanamo Bay. And police departments everywhere need to provide videotapes of all "interviews".

The prosecutor used crime theories from a dead priest (Father Gabriele) via a psychic (Gabriella Carlizzi) in the court room.

If the police had responded to citizens' complaints about Rudy Guede breaking into their places and confronting them with knives, Meredith would be alive, and Amanda and Raffale would be free.
