It’s a Man’s World
Can you believe the men won again??? Amazing! So close this time, but still the men get the victory. Kudos! And I have to say, I love watching Piers, he’s so entertaining...and let’s face it, ladies, how charming is a British accent?
So, we’ll start with the Men: When I was first watching the men seeming to disintegrate at the beginning of the task, I was like “here we go again...battle of the super egos”. It’s funny to me that Tito and Lennox never get in the mix of that, here are two of the best fighters in the world and both so professional and mild mannered. I’m actually really surprised by that, my buddy is one of the owners of Tapout, and when I heard that Tito was on Celebrity Apprentice this season, we laughed wondering how the hell was Tito going to deal with everyone’s BS and not just choke ‘em out?
I do love though that the men don’t take it personally. They get over it, they laugh about it almost immediately, and then work to accomplish what they need to (this is one of the reasons I almost always get along better with men than women in business, you know, unless they’re women like me who don’t hold grudges or play silly games). I loved seeing Piers and Steven laughing about their little skirmish just minutes later.
Okay, on to the Women: Marilu Henner is just the epitome of grace and ease, she accepts full responsibility for her decisions, and is truthful without being insulting. For me, the way she conducts herself is just a total inspiration. I mean, sure there were a couple of things the women could have done differently, but there was no real error point. They did amazing, and it’s heartbreaking, just totally heartbreaking to lose by such a short margin, ouch. Ouch, ouch, ouch. No one likes that, people start to think of the one more person they could have called, the one more sale they could have closed, it’s rough.
The Men Win: Yet again the men reign triumphant! It’s amazing, what a streak, I am not a believer in the common adage “all good things must come to an end”, I think you can win and win and win some more (that actually, winning begets winning), let’s see what happens with that next week.
Side Note: I want to get to the firing, but have to say...how beautiful and composed did Ivanka look this week, I mean she always does, but she seemed to radiate right off the screen this week...stunning. Smart as a whip too, I loved the point she made about Marilu, it took Marilu right out of the firing range. And, I also love that Donald keeps bringing in heavy hitter business celebrities, very nice touch. Why didn’t you call me, Donald???
The Firing: Argh, not again, no Jennie...don’t do it! There it is Jennie complaining once more about “not being given a chance to step up.” That just make me cringe a little, it’s such a negative way to put yourself out in the world. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a super big believer that we create our own reality, and she is creating a negative reality every time she says that and puts her power into someone else’s hands. Waiting for permission to step up never made anyone successful in business.
That being said, I did like Jennie’s final reason for leaving, that she just wasn’t a part of that world. Contestants on The Apprentice can be really mean, back-stabbing and hurtful. My business life outside of the Apprentice experience is the exact opposite of that, but on the show, it can be a nightmare, people saying the meanest, most slanted (sometimes blatantly untrue) things to advance. It works for them on the show, but I find it never works in life, they may get ahead a little here and there, but I think happiness and joy are indicators of success, not momentary gains by hurting others.
(*Note: I don’t live under a rock, I do understand that there are many corporations that are structured very similar to The Apprentice back-stabbing world, but I’ve been self-employed since I was 18...okay, so maybe I do live under a rock? Oh, right...that’s why I’m still single.)
Jennie’s taxi confessional on the way out said it all, she sounds like she has an amazing life carved out for herself, she seems so kind and nice and like such a good person, that I am almost remiss to point out the flaw in declaring that someone else must give you permission to do anything. No one else needs to do a single thing for you to be able to live the biggest best, most amazing and extraordinary life possible. It’s all up to you, thankfully, every time.
Shameless Plug: Check out page 32 of Feb 2008 Entrepreneur for yours truly, where I talk about my favorite non-business book. For those in the know it’s Ask and It Is Given - by Jerry and Esther Hicks. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Their teachings are woven into the very fabric of my life, and I wish I had enough words of gratitude and appreciation to express fully how much of an impact they’ve had on my experience, seen I don’t I’ll just keep recommending them every chance I get.

I read You every week. It is great for me to enter the mind of a woman who is self-employeed from 18.
I can only watch short clips on NBC Celebrity Apprentice and read Barry Lenson and You.
Warmest regards from Croatia, Europe
Ina Matijevic
p.s.
Carol Alt is great so far. She has integrity, character ,honesty and is beautiful woman.
"Waiting for permission to step up never made anyone successful in business."
When my coach did not show up to my Lake Placid competition years ago, I could have sat on the boards and waited only to discover he was otherwise engaged and never going to show. So I went to work and practiced real hard without him, and who should step up to the plate to help me ?
Why my sister of course. Never won a medal in her life and who was she to coach me before the big competition.
It worked. Had she been wishy washy I would have had to go it alone.
I took second place in the semi finals that day thanks to no one else but my sister.
As a parent of three children, all of different fashion, I can say that this is the one problem I had with teachers in the school system. Their focus consistently remains on those like Jennie who won't step up. The teachers punish those who step up all to often.
Is it really Jennie's fault that she didn't step up or was she simply following what the real world dictates. Donald likes Jennie because she commands that old fashion respect. Don't speak unless your spoken to.
In theory Jennie needed to learn as an apprentice and not that of a contestant, how to expand the fine balance of speaking when not spoken to.
Not sure on the title.."A man's world" ....no not at all anymore...maybe we are all to be creative with own energy to prosper our skills. We do think Omarosa got left out of this discusssion...but would say the men got over their grudges and work together. That to us, was strange...most times guys are very difficult in business gridges.
Thank You,
and sincerely,
Nick Feely
P.S. Let me take his spot!!!!

I think the men had too much time on their hands and found themselves in trouble because really how many of those men would actually wear Croc's ?
No one actually wore the shoe.
I am glad Mr Morgan was not fired by virtue of Vinny's looming tendency to threaten individuals in the boardroom. Violence begets violence and Omarosa failed to handle the situation appropriately. She took it upon herself to fire Vinny.
All due respect firing candidates is a job for Mr Trump as he states in this week's article.

In short the men did not advertise the shoe adequately throughout the show as with other products in the past. There were no clips to illustrate their strategy to sell, just clips to illustrate their antics to win outside the arena of salesmenship.
Crocs gave the men an opportunity to win even when the product does not suit men's taste. Instead they decided to loose expecting easier wins in the future.
To me the men did a disservice to Crocs more over a disservice to that of religion overall.
