Some candidates were getting stronger this week, others were getting weaker - and a few were essentially holding steady. Let’s take a look to see what we can learn.

CANDIDATES WHO LOST GROUND THIS WEEK

Jesse, possibly the strongest contender in earlier episodes, behaved so badly this week that he did himself a great deal of harm. He stopped contributing to his team. He swore at Clint. And there seemed to be no reason for him to behave erratically, beyond the fact that he had left one team for another. That was hardly a reason to throw away his chances of success.

Melissa’s performance got even worse this week, which is saying quite a bit after her acting up in earlier weeks. She complained that Brande and Annie were like the popular girls she knew in high school who treated her badly. Then instead of calmly telling Annie and Brande that they were not listening to her, she went ballistic. And when she was fired, Melissa stormed off the set and refused to say one word to anyone. Thereby, she burned her bridges to everyone involved in the show. So if that is not a worsening of performance, I do not know what is.

CANDIDATES WHO IMPROVED THEIR POSITIONS THIS WEEK

Clint really made strides this week. In earlier episodes, he made bad decisions and shut his teammates out of planning activities. This week, he tried his hardest to listen to Jesse and Joan. As a result, he dramatically increased his odds of winning. It goes to show that when you listen to negative feedback and improve, you build your success.

Brande improved her standing dramatically. In previous weeks, she seemed content to stand in the shadow of her colleagues. This week, she defended herself strongly when she came under attack from Jim Cramer in the boardroom. Her aggressive self-defense - centered on the fact that she is the second-highest fundraiser this season - positioned her very strategically for big wins in the weeks to come.

CANDIDATES WHO STAYED ABOUT THE SAME

Annie sometimes seems to be an aggressive candidate who tries to shoulder her way past her teammates. But despite such flaws, Annie is a very strong contender who understands her strengths and builds on them. When Joan Rivers started accusing her of awful things, Annie was able to look back calmly and let the criticisms bounce off her. That proved that people who refuse to engage in petty infighting usually come away looking stronger.

Joan also stayed consistent this week. You might wonder how I can say that, in light of her final temper tantrum and flight from Trump Tower after her daughter Melissa got fired. Yet if you remember the entire episode, you will recall that Joan was actually doing a good job for her team while Clint planned the magazine layout. The fact that she then went haywire after her daughter got fired was therefore all the more stark and puzzling.

In summary . . .

As we build our careers from day to day, we have essentially two options: 1) We can do everything we can to improve every day, even in small ways; or 2) We can go easy on ourselves and let our performance slip.

Obviously, continuous improvement is the way to go. If you try to get better every day in ways both small and large, that is a simple recipe for success.

We agree with a lot of the comments.

Jessie...really disappointed us as working as a non team member. At least, do your job and work with the team. Acting like children is not the role of leadership and then bad mouthing your project leader. Maybe, get off his team and walk away from the show.

Melissa...you interrupted the chairman and irritated the boardroom. We dont agree with Brande, but she showed respect and some passion. We can understand Melisa as an alliance to her Mother, but were they there to compete or keep the strings attached to one-another and divide as a team. The tantrums just get way out of line and way to personal. Walking off the show was that an strategy of alliance? or mistakes?

Mr. Trump lost that control in the show. We hate this season. Very sad!

I agree with these assessments in general.

Joan going haywire was exactly what she has been promising for the last several weeks, so that was not the least surprising.

Melissa deserved the firing for her performance in the board room. There Donald was- asking her who should be fired- and she was asking him what rules he wanted to apply. She should have said- "Both of them deserved to be fired! Brande should be fired for delegating all the responsibility in the task to Annie. Annie should be fired because her ideas were the losing ideas. I should not be fired because I did all that I could to help this team win- and my talents and abilities were shut out- for this reason- one of those two should be fired- Brande for making the decision to shut me out and Annie for not soliciting my input!"

When you are in the hot seat, you need to think fast- and if the rules don't favor you- then make the absolute best case possible for changing the way the rules are implemented. That is what happened last year and that is why Piers won. If Joan comes back, she'll be in the final two because Donald likes her and he likes a feud. If Joan comes back, she needs to focus the discussion on the finale on the quality of her task, the quality of her life, and her character- maybe even the fact that if she wins- the money for her charity helps Americans and the money will stay in the US economy. If she is one of the final two- that is her task- to come up with good reasons why she should be the Apprentice. Annie has been posting on gambling sites that she won, which means that she knows the results of the money raised in the final task and thinks that is the final answer. But time has proven over and over that the outcome of the finale is not certain until Donald announces it in the finale- it is never over until the victory is announced.

If Joan does not come back, I predict Brande will be in the final two, unless Donald is being sexist again. Clint made his comeback too late. Jesse NEVER stepped up. In that case, Annie should win- but as you know- it is never over until it is over and if Brande is in the finale- then she should come dressed in shimmering skin tight sequins from head to toe with a smile that would kill and a gleam in her eye.

Mellisa's behavior throughout the entire episode was completely uncalled for. She reminded me of people who complain of never being considered for promotions, yet never try to advance themselves. Annie has realized that even if she isn't the PM she can still play a key role in her team's success (or failure, as was the case this week).

It goes to show that even if you have differences with your employer, your job is to put those aside and advance yourself and your company. As close as the task was, any positive efforts from Melissa could've easily tipped the scale in favor of Athena. On Kotu, one might even contribute some of the success to Jesse. His negative feedback might have pushed the team to rethink their design and put extra effort and extra time in to it. Although his negative feedback might've helped out, his negative attitude was unneeded.

Jesse still remains a great guy in my mind, he is just blunt and I'm sure he knows it. Melissa/Joan however lost what little respect I had for her. The point of the show is celebrities donating their time to make a difference (And also to garner good ratings for NBC) it is not to have petty fights. If Joan is truly serious about her charity and showing that she is better than her competitors she will be back next week.

Finally, as much as Rodman needs help with his alcoholism (I hope he gets it), Melissa/Joan need help with their emotional states.

I hope that neither Melissa nor her joined-at-the-hip mother, Joan, return to Celebrity Apprentice. They are ugly, mean, egotistical, narcissistic, spoiled people, and I don't want to look at, listen to, or run into them ever again. Who does Joan Rivers think she is? A Comedian? No. Who does Melissa think she is? God? No. Their behavior last week was disgusting. Such foul language and accusations.
PLEASE! No more! Let them BOTH stay gone. And now, get rid of Annie.

I was very disappointed in Jesse's performance. I hope that he does better this week.

joan MUST GO, NOW

WHAT WILL DONALD TRUMP DO?
I HOPE IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY

After tonight I kinda wonder if the final picks were staged a little? The 2 people that hate each other the most and had something to do with all the stupid drama stay on. Don't like the idea of that. Jesse should still be in it . From the start some people I know wanted Jesse off just so they didn't have to watch the show anymore. Well they got us for most of the shows, now we don't have to watch anymore. So after getting me to watch all [but last] episodes the show ended with the feeling of a set up.

Ok....Mr Trump, Ivanka, Don Jr ect....this has nothing to do with episode ten....I'm past all the drama for this season! I'm thinking ahead to Apprentice III......You want tough, determined and MONEY raisers!! I'm thinking....why not go full force NFL! Past and present BIG NAMES! How about "The Steel Curtain" from the 70's Steelers? How about the "Triplets" from the early 90's Cowboys? How about L.T. from the NY football Giants, Warren Sapp, Brett Favre....too many GREATS too mention....why NOT got for it? BIG NAMES....TOUGH NAMES,and.....HUGE MONEY MAKERS for CHARITY!!!! Just a suggestion....

Sincerely,
Lesli S Newman

Looks like a mistake was made in the trailer for next week. If I saw it correctly the winner has already been revealed. I hate that Annie lost.

I'm never watching the show again, Donald needs to have a fair game. Annie was a better player then Joan. It should have been Annie and Jesse as the final 2. Joan was only in the final 2 because she is Donalds BFF.

Im very disappointed in this show and I feel they do not need to run another season.

Bottom line… Joan quit.. Trump would have fired her if it were anyone else.
But the winner was very clear in episode 10.. donald favored Joan.
