 Donald Trump

I finally put up my first You Tube video.

Donald Trump recorded this video when we launched Trump University.  I have a lot of friends who upload all sort of videos to help grow their business and to get themselves some publicity.  I figured it was about time for me to get in on the action so I uploaded this video to see what happens.  We are going to upload a few more over the next few weeks to see if we can use video to market our business and generate sales. One of our videos will have the goal of getting video responses and hopefully creating a viral/word of mouth marketing effort. If the idea comes through the way we hope  it could be a lot of fun for everyone involved.  We will see if everything works out as planned.  Stay tuned or sign up for the video channel to get notified when new videos are posted.

What have your experiences been with video marketing?  Other then being fun is there a return on your invested time?

Video marketing, and video advertising is really starting to catch on. I've gotten video emails from folks and I've seen more and more video popping up on websites everywhere these days.

I have only begun to scratch the surface myself, having only put one video on YouTube so far, but it's in the works to do a lot more video this year for my website/company, http://www.Listasaurus.com, being that we're one of the first online classifieds sites worldwide to feature Video Classifieds.

In addition to regular classified ads, we feature a Business Directory where businesses can upload a video to include in their ad--which is more like a webpage than just an ad (think Yellowpages meets YouTube). We're hoping the video marketing continues to grow, of course, since that's one of the features that makes Listasaurus.com stand out. After all, what better way to showcase your business than to add full sight, sound and motion?

I am curious to see others' postings about video marketing...I think the biggest challenge for people is actually taking the time and having the expertise to put together a good video. Many folks are still mastering being able to create a video, download it to their PC, edit, and upload.

I'd love to hear advice in that arena...we've made some suggestions to our users but can always use more tips and tricks that will help!

I am a video marketer & I think it is great that you are venturing into this area. I stumbled across this blog because of the search term "video marketing" and am excited to follow your progress & to see what else this blog has to offer!

Regarding Video Marketing - we are just starting to experience some of its potential as we learn more & more about how to use it on the internet. Our clients have been very successful using it in DVD form - helping them increase sales and raise awareness about events. Online Video Marketing is just starting to take off & it's potential is amazing. I have read that people can increase their sales anywhere from 20-400% with an online video! We had one client increase the contributions to their fundraiser an enormous amount through online video promoting the event! The viral nature of video is something I am excited to learn more about. We are just venturing into this area & will be launching a viral campaign soon for a client. I am subscribing to this blog & will be very interested in hearing how your campaign works. You can find out more about mine at my blog: http://www.evideoproductions.net/blog. I will be posting about it in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks again!

An excellent promotional video. At 2.5 minutes - a good length. The script and lighting both very good.
Two problems as I see it. 1. No actual "call to action" - no URL to follow on the last screen. 2. The video optimization is non existant. On Youtube you can put the URL to follow in the description and make it a "one click" operation to get to your landing page. You can also stuff your description with additional keywords to help with your SEO.

Still good to see you start with video marketing. There are a lot more sites that you can target with your videos. Our software manages your accounts and submits to 50 as well as more social media sites, or if you would like our trained staff to do the job for you please contact Roger (at) videowildfire.com

Melanie, As soon as I figure it all out you can count on hearing more about the tips and tricks to using video effectively. You might want to check out the site member1729728 posted in their comment.

member1729728, Thanks for subscribing and visiting the site. I am going to spend some time on your site. At first glance you seem to have good content available on video marketing. Interesting to hear that this post ranked for video marketing so quickly and great info to know for the future.

member1729738, Thanks for your points. For now we are just testing out video. If we decide to use a third party to help us market with video we will take a look at your services but for now we are testing this on our own.

You had me up to the last shot of the video where Donald is speaking to what appears to be an interviewer (though that is not made clear). The shot was too long, and I became more interested in who the guy was with his back to me (which people always find much more intriguing than someone facing them). Then as I watching him, I notice that his head is bobbing in unusual patterns, and it appears that he is not nodding at Donald as if he's listening, but rather paying absolutely no attention to what Donald is saying. Worse yet, I am not paying attention because I am paying attention to the guy in the frame that's also not paying attention!

Strange how these things happen.

As a visual artist I have utilized some of these techniques in my artwork intentionally. On my site
<a href="http://www.theartoftrent.com/trent_frontpage.html">http... I talk about how my work acts not like a picture but rather like a wall that forces people into their own heads and experience their own thoughts and state of being rather than experience the art itself. In your video I think this principal is accidentally working against you.

Perhaps something to keep in mind for the next installment.

Trent, Interesting point about the back of the interviewer and Mr Trump. We will try a video at some point without Mr. Trump but for now his name and image are a big piece of the brand.

Great YouTube video! I 4 starred it. Guess it will be challenging to develop video for Trump University that's funny, edgy & viral enough for me to forward to friends, while respecting Mr. Trump & his brand. But in the short term, as a potential student of Trump University I'd like to see what the learning process is all about- if it's entirely online perhaps show a student in front of a computer & zoom in on the content. The video w/Mr. Trump is good but I'm most interested in seeing actual content, perhaps build up to an offer or call to action. Maybe that's why I should stay tuned on YouTube....

Far as an effective viral markerting video- this not only makes me want to see Will Ferrell's new movie but tell others about it! Enjoy:

Lastly, this video isn't really that viral, but I like that it's engaging, with offer copy & lead capture built in: I'm giving credit to direct marketing mastermind Eben Pagan for sharing this with me:

Matt,
Thanks for the stars... and the comments. You have some great points and you gave me a few things to think about. Hopefully we can continue to improve and build on our first shot at video marketing.

Video marketing is an efficient way to sell your products and services. You probably know the famous saying: "A picture is worth a thousand words". If so then what about a video? Many people start to realize the power of video ads and that is because using a video to present your product will result in higher customer satisfaction, higher loyalty and sales, because your potential buyers will see what they are going to buy.
