To be a successful entrepreneur you must be able to quickly and clearly communicate your business concept, relaying
both your passion and the essence of your plan. This is most commonly referred to as the elevator pitch.

will you potentially be given an opportunity to pitch your venture to an esteemed panel of experts, if you
present a winning pitch, you will earn a private talk with our Venture Capitalist and Professor Paul Wimer, who
will help you to further develop your plan.
- Professor Paul Wimer is a Partner at Topspin Partners, a $213M venture capital and private equity firm. Paul is on the board of five Topspin Portfolio Companies, including Sensicore, Pionetics, Netomat, Whittmanhart, and Third Pillar Systems. Prior to joining Topspin, Paul was in charge of the manufacturing practice at Andersen Consulting. Over the course of his tenure at Andersen, Paul consulted clients in the electronics, high technology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and consumer products industries. Prior to Andersen, Paul served as a manufacturing manager at Proctor and Gamble.
- Frank Giuliano is a Principal at Topspin Partners and has been with the fund for over four years. Prior to Topspin, Frank began his career at PaineWebber, later UBS Warburg as an Associate Director, where he focused on technology, media, and telecommunications transactions. During this time, Frank executed 15 transactions totaling $3.6 billion, including initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, M&A assignments, private placements, and convertible debt offerings.
At Topspin, Frank led the investment in Game Trust, a provider of video game infrastructure and tournament software that is on its way to becoming an industry standard. He was also closely involved in the acquisition of Cylink by SafeNet in 2002 and extensively worked with the senior management team of Cylink to identify, facilitate discussions with, and ultimately pitch alternative suitors. Frank is a Director of Game Trust and serves as an observer on the boards of Security First and Open Access.
- Michael W. Sexton is the President and co-founder of Trump University. In this role, Mr. Sexton is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company and managing its day-to-day operations. Prior to launching Trump University, Mr. Sexton was a partner with Par Three Ventures, an early-stage business development partnership. In that role, Mr. Sexton was instrumental in launching companies in the recruitment services, recruitment media, and print media industries.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Sexton spent eight years as a management consultant creating shareholder value for clients by developing and implementing leading edge growth and profit-improvement strategies. Most recently, Mr. Sexton was with Accenture in the firm’s Strategic Services practice in New York. While there, he led engagements for Fortune 1000 companies across a range of industries including retail, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceuticals, and transportation.
- Larry Morris is a seasoned instructor at Trump University. Before joining Trump University, Larry was a partner with two investment groups. The first: an incubator where he led analysis and reviewed all potential company investments; the second: a venture group focused on Post Secondary School acquisitions, where he headed the acquisition identification and due diligence process.
- Tim Berry is the President of Palo Alto Software and principal author of its Business Plan Pro software. He was co-founder of Borland International, which was founded in 1983 and went public in 1986. Before creating his own company, he was a planner for Business International and Creative Strategies, and a consultant in business planning to Apple Computers. Berry’s latest book, A CPA’s Guide to Effective Business Plans, was published in 1999 by Harcourt Brace. His book, Hurdle: The Book on Business Planning was published in 1988. He is also the author of books on business planning published by Dow Jones-Irwin, Microtext-McGraw-Hill, and Hayden Books.
